Star Wars Outlaws is a 2024 action-adventure game developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. Set in the Star Wars universe between the events of The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983), the story follows Kay Vess, a young scoundrel who assembles a team for a massive heist in order to pay off a crime syndicate.[1] The game is played from a third-person perspective, with the player traversing an open world environment and engaging in various activities.
The development team, supported by Lucasfilm Games and ten other Ubisoft studios, sought to combine canonical elements of the Star Wars universe with their own ideas, focusing on creating cinematic and seamless gameplay. Humberly González provided the motion capture and voice for Kay, while Dee Bradley Baker voiced her companion, Nix.
Star Wars Outlaws was released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on August 30, 2024. The game received generally positive reviews from critics.

I kind of wish this game took a little from Ratchet and Clank and let you take control of your little buddy to navigate him through small areas that you can't fit in to fully disable things or solve puzzles. What they have is better than nothing, but it still strikes me as odd that civil engineers and architects would put vital controls and power cores in visual range of random wanderers. Having Nixx go through pipes, tubes, vents, etc. to access sensitive areas that Kate may not ever gain access to would be much more interesting.

Thanks Randy there are several areas where Kay can’t access and that’s exactly what you need to do with Nix. The little fella helps a lot with many aspects of the game, however I think your right it would have been cool if you had more control of this.

@@Gaming4XP ah, maybe I missed some of those. Been watching when I wake up, so sometimes I'm still half asleep. Glad to see it's not all just what you can see. I figure, if Nixx is smart enough to press buttons, toggle levers, pickpocket, and retrieve only valuable (arguably) items, he or she is probably smart enough to act independently like Clank. BTW, the game seems fine. I'd enjoy seeing more of it. I just hope it does become repetitive. I'm used to games ramping up game mechanics a little bit faster.
