SW battlefront 2(2017): "look guys, you get to play on the side of the Empire! ....Oops your a rebel now" SW Outlaws: "look guys, you get to play a smuggler/scoundrel like han solo!....Oops your a rebel now" Could we please get a bounty hunter game in the same vein as "Killzone Mercenary". Where you take out contracts on both the rebellion and the empire, and your character only cares about the paycheck or getting that "one big score".
Now that's a game I haven't heard in a long time. I loved the Killzone games, the Helgast were so unique. I agree with what your saying, Disney Star Wars just wants to force fans to play, as and, for the rebels only. Which is really limiting in so many ways. Plus the story is so generic "One last job" or "I'm doing this to free myself". Boring.

As expected; that's how it usually is lately, unfortunately. He sadly doesn't seem too engaged with his content lately. Don't get me wrong; it makes sense with the current state of Star Wars, but it's still sad to see.
According to some game developers that've been quoted, they don't make them too attractive so that trans-women won't feel a sense of inferiority because their features don't look feminine enough and thus they won't see themselves in the protagonist etc etc. Not even kidding. * Edit * Note also, unlike the mocap actress, there is a distinct lack of a bust to the point that the term 'flat as a board' might be applied - also not coincidental given the above policy. I wonder if female gamers feel 'well represented' by this 'erasure' ?
I wish more star wars games would learn from the feel of Star Wars Battlefront 2015. That game really made me feel like I was in star wars. Graphics, sound, gameplay, environments, characters and animations were fantastic. Multiplayer was great fun. I hope SW Outlaws will be a good one.

The unfunny Marvel-esc joke in front of Jabba the Hutt in Jabba’s Palace sums up this trailer. Typical modern Star Wars bs… Will still give the game a chance though as it’s not made by Disney. It won’t be as amazing as Fallen Order and Survivor but it could be good. Plus, The maps look really good though I really like the design for the new location.
That’s more of an overall lame “trailer joke” than a Marvel one tbh. They always do that by having the music drop out and a character deliver a one-liner.

Writing seems stiff, characters seem generic. Most inspired moments seems to be the guys tossing her out and the bit where she is interrupted at Jabbas

@@darthnihilus2729 Use your brain for once. It’s a story trailer giving us a glimpse into the narrative and allowing us to see brief character interactions and dialogue. From what we’ve seen and heard it’s not impressive. BG3, Witcher 3, Last of us, God of war, Red Dead, those are games with great dialogue. And regarding the generic characters, yes Kay Vess looks like she could be a side character for any sci fi game ever. Her face is scuffed compared to the real actress and her dialogue was somehow worse. “I’m ready to risk it all!” 😭 I almost threw up hearing that terrible line. You must not be familiar with great games or just excellent writing and storytelling to recognize this.

In terms of single player games ubi does okay my advice is to wait for a sale as they always seem to go on sale within 3 months after launch. I remember getting FC 6 ultimate edition for $70 instead of 120

They create new characters so they can be killed, lol. The new syndicate most likely is going to get dismantled as part of the game's story. If one of the main bad guys is Dengar or Bossk, you already know they aren't getting killed. Boba Fett did a cameo in a game recently as well.
I feel crime syndicate subject was covered by the book of boba fett. I know it's a different place in the time line but kinda feels like they weren't brave enough to do a boba fett or Mando game and have gone with a new character in an era we're already very familiar with. Much more excited about acolyte

Would be sweet if it was like a Star Wars gta. Pulling heists and choosing your crew would be fun but I’m just happy to be playing a Star Wars game again even though it may not be what I would’ve wanted most or what I expected. Not a fan of all the negativity. Some fans beg for Star Wars games then shit on them when it isn’t exactly what they want. I’m not saying accept everything but let’s give the game a chance
That's how I still see Outlaws, a Star Wars GTA. It even looked like they had a 5 star system in the gameplay trailer earlier, but it was the Imperial logo instead.
I was just researching Star Wars Outlaws to see if I want to buy it, & found out it's $70 USD, and it only takes 6 hours to beat the game! It gets worse, you dont get the entire game for $70 cause they have 2 short dlc's for another $50. That's crazy greed🤯 No way I'll buy this
considering Crimson Dawn is still around and Han is still in carbon-freeze. In Disney canon timeline, Outlaws takes place sometime after War of the Bounty Hunters and before the events of Crimson Reign comic run which are between EBS and ROTJ
I don’t have any strong opinion about the game but who actually cares about this? Source material gets adapted differently all the time. As long as it’s done well, it doesn’t matter
@@marzvelli3472 They brought this on themselves back when they announced that everything moving forward (after Disney purchased LucasFilms) will be considered canon, they did that in order to make everything that came before obsolete and to reassure people that further purchases won't be nullified. They also said that there will be a department responsable of assuring the continuity of the franchise between the movies, tv series, game and books. If they start contradicting themselves and pissing people off, they have no one to blame but themselves.

Tbh the choosing character idea would be really good if they were all connected within the story and you can literally play an almost entirely new campaign through the perspectives of each character
Who cares what gender the protagonist is. What about cassian, Luke, anakin, mando, obiwan, Cal, boba etc… Gender doesn’t matter as long as the story is good.
@@sgthomas1266 Agreed. However, Star Wars is still watched by a largely male majority, and the female leads out-number the male leads by a lot (in the Disney era). I asked a group of 12 year old boys the other day what their favorite Star Wars movie was; only one had even seen Star Wars at all. The boys growing up aren't interested. Take She-Ra. Male He-Man fans didn't buy/watch that when it came out, and according to the company that made Masters of the Universe, She-Ra made the franchise unrelatable and uncool amongst boys-so much so they had to stop selling all Maters of the Universe toys. The reality is that there hasn't been a male Star Wars protagonist on the screen for 19 years. For a male dominated franchise, that's just a bad business decision. I'd love well written, cool, female leads, but feel the majority of leads should be male because the fan base is a heavy male majority. Having a majority of female leads, or badly written/un-cool females will hurt the brand badly. Imagine if Barbie becomes a franchise, and the next three movies starred Ken, Ken's cousin, and some new male character instead of Barbie. They also made the female lead of this game look unattractive compared to the real life actress she's based on. These are the reasons why I'm annoyed by this game, not because female leads can't be amazing.
It just looks like StarWars content that Disney would make but in a game this time, and without light sabers and a weird looking main character. Not to mention it’s a Ubisoft game keep that in mind.
Kay being a girl works. Women are usually small, and in a stealth based game, it works. This also forces players to think out a situation before going in gun blazing, like what someone would do with a male character.
Anyone else catch the "Your the best bounty hunter in the outer-rim" to the random PoC chick? Despite this being set BEFORE Return of the Jedi. Meaning that Boba is around and kicking...as are MANY others...yet we get this random checkbox bounty hunter. "Yawn."

The open world section looked neat. But the MC just seems like a pretty bland design that could be put in any other adventure game. Maybe its just me. Still more excited for tales of the empire. Barriss got done dirty in CW with how little her motivations were explained when there was such good material like luminara being quite a detached and uncaring master willing to sacrifice barriss. Hope her character gets flushed out a bit more. Either way it will end with death by vader or redemtion by ahsoka if they decide to go all in for the long run with her.
Excited for the game. Part of me wished it was Doctor Aphra instead of a new face. But gonna look forward to more information. The game is quite Pricey for sure. Not every story has to be about the jedi & sith. There are other people in the galaxy trying to make a living. I'm all in for a Underworld game. 😊

But being one of the most fan-favorite comic book characters of the disney era. She does deserve to come to a bigger audience. I haven't read all her comics yet, but so far she is a amazing character, while actually you are not supposed to like her. 😅 She easily became my most favorite disney star wars character for sure.
The game looks okay, I don’t have any specific negatives to say about the game. It could be interesting to to delve into the criminal underworld within Star Wars. But I do wish we could be getting more Clone Wars or Old Republic related games

You know there's shit-fuckery at work when the base game costs 70$ then the gold edition that provides 3 day early access, an bonus mission and season-pass for 110$ and finally 130$ for the remaining cut content from the base game. That's ALMOST DOUBLE the cost to actually get all the content that was intended for the game, most of which will already be in the game on day one but decided to put it behind a pay-wall. Editions and season-passes aren't something new, but this pricing is absurd ... And I'd bet most SW fans will gladly throw any amounts of money at them, despite the blatant rip-off, making this shitty move the new norm very fast.
Is kind of crazy they are making a game based off an outlaw. I mean in starwars we have the Jedi, Sith, Nightsisters, Bendu, Clones & mandolorians just to name a few races. Yet they develop a game within the same universe where we have to play a normal human outlaw.

I'm actually interested how this game will play. I love the era after empire before jedi. I'm curious to see the perspective of someone outside the rebellion and the empire. What I'm leary about is ubisoft. Will it be farcry in space?
I dont wanna hear her say shes been held back her whole life. I wanna see her struggle and go through hardships and have people hate her guts. I dont want another Rey where evreyone loves her and shes perfect with no flaws!! Also Theory, starwars is more than just the force and jedi/sith. So just stop..🙄 I have concerns about the game but if they deliver a good story without the woke crap being a huge focus, then id welcome a game set in the underworld with bounty hunters and smugglers like this. 100% agreed, the galaxy is huge. It shouldn't revolve around the jedi & sith all the time. I'm excited to finally see a star wars game without lightsabers 😊 A Scoundrel is maybe more optimistic. Looking at the smuggler story of swtor for instance. Scoundrels have that untouchable mentality where they have nothing to lose and make jokes when facing death. In a society like the underworld, you'll need that kind of mentality. But indeed, she needs character development.

And the starwars gaming industry seems more keen to make the games they make Canon. And perhaps it is maybe a tricky choice to have a already established character fit in as protagonist. Especially if it takes place during the trilogies. A mando game after ROTJ and before TFA seems the most legit. Cuz being a mando during the clone wars or galactic Civil war is probably not a ideal time. They could've given us Doctor Aphra instead of Kay, Aphra is already a huge established scoundrel in the comics and the underworld. But a brand new character might have been the safer bet to not break or conflict with existing lore.

Its just sad that we are playing as a generic woman. We already dont get enough main characters that are aliens in the movies and shows because tbf, its not easy to do in live action. So a game would be perfect. We should’ve played as the droid that she’s with or some alien.
I would get this game on PC so i can mod it to play as Han Solo. Hopefully mute her dialogue. Other than that i would be apprehensive to play the base game on its own.
