So much fun seeing this. Takes me back to the late 70s/80s and to the 90s, when the toys were all coming out again. Don't have my POTF X-Wing anymore, but this was a very cool stroll down memory lane. Another awesome video, as always!
I still have my 1978 one that my mother bought me for Christmas back in '78. The light and sound feature no longer work, but it is in good shape otherwise.
For the perfect battle sequence: The ForceLink 2.0 Solo Tie Fighters 30th Anniversary Tie Bombers vs. OTC or POTF2 Millennium Falcon (for maneuvering, but Legacy Falcon for scale) 30th Anniversary Collection Y-Wings And then X-Wings that are scaled like the Disney X-Wings, but have the look of the Legacy X-Wings. I really like those Disney X-Wings' scale and they match so well with the other space vehicles. 😊 I really wish they made an original X-Wing that scale. The nice Legacy / Vintage Collection ones are unfortunately too big to match up.
Great review as always :) I have one of these and a non-electronic one I am customizing lightly in to Rogue One X-Wings. I was really hoping for either Rebels or Rogue One releases of an X-Wing, but oh well; it had a great run, the same model of T-65 from 1980 to 1999, that's the last date stamp I know of.
Nice and thorough review. I just got one along with a POTF AT-ST for $45. The X-Wing is only missing one laser cannon, but I already found an original replacement. The scout walker is missing the top hatch (most used ones do), but I found a couple of potential 3d printed ones. Don't really want to pay $25 for one though. For now, it'll just sit high up on a shelf.
I did the landspeeder but don’t have the original so there wasn’t a comparison. The same for when I get to the Falcon but I do have the ‘82 Tie Fighter to compare with when I do the POTF Tie Fighter. I think that was the year for the battle damaged one. My parents got me that along with the X-Wing at the same time.
I've got 2 potf xwings of EBAY one doesn't work with a bartered box with European writing being a UK release I expect the other potf x wing works with slightly different stickers on the side of the nose. And I got the uk release of the battle damage stickers x wing no electronics in a bid bundle with the isp-6 under £9 both needing parts same with the used potf x wing with working electrics part of a bundle buy with the 79 falcon also needing parts
I wouldn’t reference it as classic Kenner Star Wars. To me, that falls to the line of the 80s. Interesting timing of your question though as I was thinking of this very topic the other day. Generally it’s referred to as modern Star Wars and I’ve always referenced it as such. However, we’re now talking about a part of the line that is getting close to 30 years old. So I’d say it could be looked at as classic modern Star Wars line. Not sure if I helped you at all 😀.
It is smaller than the modern Vintage Collection releases. It’s the same size as what was released in the original run of the toy line from the 70s and 80s.
