For real. Watched one guy throw his weapon off screen and impale himself on Rey's lightsaber. Another's weapon just...disappears? I caught that in theaters, and I actually got on the edge of my seat, thinking they'd actually hurt Rey...then she just kind of bullshitted her way out of it. The way the camera panned, I was expecting to see she was injured, but then there was no weapon.

Could you indicate a time of this? They just played the movies in the background and dimmed the brightness. Play 1:08 - 1:10 on half speed (or slower) and you can see their toy lightsabers clearly and the “glowing” is from the movie on tv. They don’t line up. Not to take away from their effort as they clearly timed the movies to be fairly representative of their fight.

Choreographies are maybe pretty, but out of all the fights there's only one that actually matter and it's Anakin vs Obi wan, and this fight has some of the dumbest lightsaber moments. Sequel fights are part of the storytelling, say one thing that Maul adds to the story except killing a character that only takes an other character'd screen time, say anything that Dooku adds to Anakin's, Obi wan's or yoda's arc through their fight.

@@underblader9675 Dooku's conflict with Anakin is meant to mirror Luke's with Vader. It's all in their final fight. Presented with the choice to either kill or spare him Anakin makes the choice to kill Dooku which begins his fall to the darkness. (if you don't count him SLAUGHTERING all those sand people) While Luke spared Vader, making it clear that he wasn't going to fall to the darkness like his father. (Until he saw his nephew's bad dreams) Sure it's flashier and doesn't quite have the emotional weight to it that the originals had but I can't really say the sequels are any better. You don't get much of a spectacle (choreography wise, the special effects are definitely an improvement), there's hardly any real tension past the first film because the villain (Kylo) is way too incompetent to seem like a real threat and I'm not invested enough in the hero (Rey) to wanna root for her. It's like the worst of both worlds. If you can't get me to care about these character's then at least give me a show.

Another point I'd like to mention, the sequels failed because there was no constant story being told throughout. It was 3 individual stories told for a bunch of characters. "Stop the 1st order" seemed to be the only thing that united the 3 movies and even then they did an absolutely piss-poor job of convincing me that the first order was a threat. In order to illustrate my point, please Tell me, was the first order a galactic superpower like the galactic republic (based in a single system and had its own system of government, along with a bunch of other systems that paid tribute/tax to it) or was the entire first order based on the supremacy and around starkiller base? The answer is actually neither. The movie makes it unclear as to if the first order is just a powerful but small collection of ships and bases, or if it's an actual government with citizens and economy and whatnot which is why when we see palpatine, everyone who understood the plot up to this point in the story was like "wait wtf," and got all up in arms about it. He just shows up with this MASSIVE fleet he literally pulls OUT OF HIS ASS and they are all just isd's w death star superlasers on them... ORIGINAL IDEAS PLEASE FOR THE NEXT TRILOGY DISNEY THANK YOU

It has an incoherent story with a few moments where you can tell that it was written with no plan for the future parts… I’m not saying it’s as bad I’m saying that most of the failings of the originals are in the sequels yes some aren’t there but the story is bad at good times and in the good times like in episode six the story would be amazing in a vacuum

They're good editors, that's how. Anybody can make a sequence in DaVinci Resolve to track a white stick with a red glow property with a practical hilt, but making actual lighting for the beams themselves *and* tracking reflections is another thing entirely. I'll admit Corridor has spoiled me, but this is still really impressive despite what the armchair expert redditors of this video's comment section would have you believe. These guys know what they're doing and they're using it to make people laugh at themselves, which is respectable.
