First invasion of Geonosis, retouched with increased intensity. More shit going on, more shooting, and most importantly, a literal battalion at your disposal.
Form up commandos, we touch down on Geonosis. This shitmod adds a heightened scale of combat that was not exactly present in the original version of the game, so I wanted to try and change that. This was actually one of my earliest works that had been put aside due to my inexperience at the time, but better late than never! Here's a general compilation of implementations done for this showcase: - Added battle music - Implemented overhead tracer bolts for increased scenic immersion - Added more troopers - Added more enemies & modified some enemy spawntypes to try and keep it balanced with the increased number of allies. - Added more scripted events for increased battlefield emulation, ranging from added vehicles to timed landscape bombardment. - Implemented assistive parameters for non-squadmembers; aforementioned can now follow you but cannot perform as extensively as an actual squadmember can. (*Still testing) - Polished some aspects of map support for the increased scale of battle, as well as scripted event timimgs. In case you missed it (Modded clones vs Vanilla clones): - Slightly increased accuracy and damage output for the clones' blasters. - Slightly increased health pool for clones. - Thermal detonators added to clone troopers' inventory. - Added voice lines for clone troopers for various stimuli. (Enemy Spotted, Ally Down, Retreating, Death, Incoming Grenade) (*limited implementation) - Increased clone action parameters. (Dodging, grenade returning, peeking) - Decreased clone self-preservation to increase firefight efficacy. - Clones in squad can now perform basic squad tasks. (*limited implementation) - Clone blaster bolts now feature a heavier and brighter glow. Alot of polishing is still required, but for now enjoy the showcase and I'll see you on the next shitmod, commandos.
I think first mission reg are likely to program to be suck. But In the ghost ship mission they are very dependable it just has too few of them. Only section with turret and when you first encounter the mine. ( you can save 2 clone if you disarm mine fast enough )
It's not that they were ever bad at fighting, it was more they were always scripted to die. I remember so many times when I would find soldiers and they just died to some geonosian warrior despite putting and entire mag into it.
@@anti-dreamstansunited3391 i tried to save them by pre position teammate on gunship and sniper position. The bug die instant of finish the script. Lol
Whenever I play this game, I always go back to Extreme Prejudice just to see this scene. Seeing the LAAT go from an Assault Ship to Geonosis' atmosphere and finally into Geonosis itself whilst hearing comms and The Arena music playing in the background is badass.
I do also love the fact that Boss does take command of a squad of clone troopers as he was canonically a Sergeant in the Clone Wars, its nice seeing him really putting his leadership skills to good use.
“They’re in the trench! Pull back to Gamma sector! Pull baaack!” That clip really captures the dire situation of the clones first battle and how terrified they were fighting countless waves of machines that knew no retreat.
Really captures the clusterfuck that was geonosis for the clones on og xbox hardware, so good, everything looks so disorientating like an old school medal of honor game, your mission being to get through all this, awesome shit
@@zombieoutbreakprod Same! It was one of those little things that always confused me as a kid, the extra clone is in the Ash vid, the trailers and the screenshots but not in the game. It looks cooler with him in it imo, instead of a gunship of just two dudes.
This also finally fixes the mistery of the game screenshot I had on the back of CD box where it had multiple clones flying with you in the beginning on LAAT, but it wasn't the thing in the game itself. Thank you.
Excellent! You could source voicelines from the movies and other games (Like battlefront) to pad out the clones stock of voices, theres not many to work from
Scorch, Fixer, Sev, Boss, and the advisor all sound different. It wouldn't be too distracting to have other clone voice lines, as long as they are clone trooper voice lines.
@@the_oc_maniac8972 well, the problem would be that individual clones would have different voices, like their scripted dialogue would be their og voice actor, but their combat voice lines would be temuera morrison, it wouldn't be perfect. But not a bad idea for sure.
Although the mod is looking good and quite nice with the AIs buddies, I think the number of clones in the fights should be toned down a little for gameplay purposes. I think it's a bit too much crowding the space of the maps that were specifically designed for fewer numbers. Unless you are going to expand the map layout, I probably would advise having a few of the clones fighting on the top side. I would also suggest having a way to identify the clones in your squad, either from UI or their armour colour painted just to know their location. Other than that, I am glad you are still trying to make those empty areas fill more alive.
I mean, for the first mission this makes sense, since they are just temporarly your squad mates and there were a lot of clones in here. On the following maps we dont need regs
I know this is a mod pf a great game but seriously... we need more Star Wars game in the style of Republic Commando. As much as I love playing the game, my excitement playing it is wearing off.
Well, that wouldn't actually make sense for the story, since delta squad were the 1st clones dropped and they prepared the place for the army to arrive, so there shouldn't be any clones on Kashyyk exept deltas and their pilots. Also that would require a new clone trooper model, at least a regular p2 with 41st camo. P1 clones wouldn't make sense on Kashyyk either. What he could do is to add more clones to the canyons of geonosis around the crushed gunships.
@@attilafekete7892 your looking too much into this, I’m looking at a gameplay perspective the missions would be more lively with clones and Wookiees fighting in big rooms instead of like 1 per chapter
1:50 1:57 Christ, that shit gave me chills. The Geonosis section of this game has never scared me as much as this mod for it has. I got Battlefield 1 flashbacks for a moment. 1:35 I also like the neat detail that this guy turns to look at the Clone next to him getting dragged away by the Geonosian.
Just stumbled on your channel, definitely excited for this mod. It's a shame there is no Phase 2 clone trooper model to add a few guys in the Kashyyyk chapter
That wouldn't make sense because that was a 100% covert Op. Delta Squad went in the night before the full Republican invasion. Then again, there is the Clone Advisor, but he's the only reg you'll see in Kashyyyk.
@@OverwatchSniper Fair enough, but then pick settings that actually make good sense with the story, otherwise you're just bringing in one of a million different fanfics that don't get anywhere.
This is great stuff but I’d say the original version fits the commando theme better. Being deployed behind the lines of the main thrust to execute a surgical strike makes more sense and better sets the tone of the game.
Tbf originally Commandos for the most part were deployed in direct open combat for the most part which in turn got the majority of the Special Operations Brigade complete wiped out on Geonosis, Delta Squad was one of the few that managed to survive due to them for the most part actually being assigned a commando mission instead of regular infantry.
Loved it, although many a bit too many clones at the beginning? Felt a bit over the top having like 5-6 guys follow you around. I think a rule should be that no more than 3 can follow you at once, as so it can fit on the HUD.
The sound track for RC was some of the best. I always loved the radio chatter and the utter chaos most of the missions are. The game has a ton of buggy stuff and the controls aren’t perfect but I still love this game 😂 one of the heavy trandotions came through a door but didn’t fully load in and I ran up and started punching him so when he did load in, he fell over and I got to use his chain gun 😂
0:42 Can someone tell me what he's saying? I don't understand 1:22 I love how those 4 AT-TEs are chasing 2 spider droids and they're cornered 1:00 Only 4 clones in the laat? that is very rare 1:16 That thing in the sky is a Geonosian dreadnaught. 1:36 years of training wasted
@@attilafekete7892 I do remember there being footage early of the game and where it was you and two clones, but the guy who is sitting either got cut or was relegated to different version.
If this game ever get's a proper remaster they should follow in this mod's footsteps and greatly increase the amount of Regular Clone AI to kick the intensity up a bit.
DUDE, post your social on your channel and in the description and in the comments and in your RU-vid bio. Like please self advocate I can’t find you anywhere on the modding sights. 😭 I want to support you.
Nahh, that would be something new, this is just the base game improved a bit, new assets would just change the story. Also it would make no sense for arcs to appear, since this is a mission for commandos. I think you are looking for the arc troopers mod, wich changes delta squad to be arc troopers instead of commandos.
I too have edited the game stats and scripts to fit my personal tastes i remade republic commando (though my kashyyyk levels are a mess due to me simply adding clones to every enemy encounter the first time i found about the editor) I made a variety of clones ranging from simple ranked clones (sergeant, lieutenant, etc having ever so slightly different stats) to Arc Troopers with better weapons and an attempt of a better AI Also making use of the amazing Troika mod, made by my mentor, adding a bunch of cool weapons. a few Scripted encounters that could be better Sev uses the sniper as default and has increased accuracy. Flying geonosians fear his instant hitreg. Scorch has grenades that deal more damage and he throws them slightly more often Fixer has a stronger shield and does more melee damage (Tried making him get close to enemies but it isn’t consistent and seems to work only when he isn’t a part of the squad which you can order around) also uses EMP only. Commander battle droids leading small squads , a variant of the magnaguard (grievous guard) I cannot publish it because it’s pretty messy in many parts and because it uses a lot of textures from the Arc Trooper mod
@@attilafekete7892 , third person is already a thing with console commands and i think one can force the hud to appear, but the camera position is right behind you so you cannot aim properly. demonstrating video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8xzuc65Vv5M.html I think i could fix the crappy looking animations when moving sideways (maybe) but i have absolutely no idea where to go to change the camera position. I could get ya an invitation into the modding discord servers where you can ask others for help starting with the editor deadass it's really REALLY easy to start with the simple stuff like placing npcs on maps or changing health and damage values
@@RaidriarTheRadicalKing Thanks for your response, I was able to get 3rd person and with the mod called slight remaster it gave me a proper boss playermodel instead of the low poly regular commando, but I can not get the hud, but even bigger problem is the camera position, with a proper over the shoulder veiw it would be quite playable even without the hud, I personally dont mind the animations, just that camera position needs a solution.
@@attilafekete7892 no problem, apologies i couldn't be of help, my motivation to get back into the modding scene will probably return once a big mod is released but that could be in 10 years
I wish the game actually let us play as Phase 1 "shinies", and perhaps only with the differentiating rank colors from the 1st Battlefront. They are definitely my favorite look for clone troopers. Never been a fan of the heavy customization in some designs, some are so busy they even barely resemble clone troopers at all.
Star Wars really could have used a game similar to Call of Duty 2. Just an unimportant grunt trying to survive through the campaign. This feels like as close as you can get.
