@@ihatecorpsehusband7147 because for many people that went to go watch it to them it hit rock bottom in a way, but I thought it was alright admittedly not the best star wars movie but it tried it's hardest
Rogue One is my favorite Star wars film since Empire strikes back - I knew it was good when as I was watching it I realised I had a big smile on my face. And then I looked across to my brother and mother and saw they were smiling too .... but boy it was a long wait to really enjoy a SW film again.
And George Harrison has the same first name as George Lucas! Coincidence? Or is it possible that more than one person can have the same first name in an ENTIRE GALAXY! LOL - dumbass
given that felicity jones's characters story has been old from almost birth to definite death, there is unfortunately zero chance of ever seeing her in that role again. which is the most tragic thing about the movie.
@@QixTheDS well when you know you're right that comment is perfectly correct any intelligent person can see that, it shouldn't matter to you if people attack you. I mean if a moron disagrees with you that's almost as good as an intelligent person agreeing with you.
I found Jyn and Cassians death on the beach reminded me so much of Tea Leoni's final moments with her dad in "Deep Impact." It was almost identical in emotional impact and the way it was shot.. A very good death scene. I was impressed with the movie in so many ways. The fact that they all died, really made the story have a hard hitting emotional impact. Of course we all knew they had to die so they were absent from Eps 4, 5 and 6.
This was excellent. I started watching it saying, "eh, I'll watch 5 minutes of it." Then suddenly I had watched 47 minutes of it--it was that interesting!
Great breakdown vid! ... couple other micro-things: my fave line in R1 is Vader warning Krennic not to choke on his own ambitions. That's a mutation of Leia's line to Tarkin in the original Lucas SW book: "Foolish men often choke on their own delusions". And another possible THX-1138 nod: the dancer/holo-porn... (ahem) utilized by Duvall's character
and it being used as an actually battering ram fits it really well, being an (in the star wars lore) ancient ship from a bygone era (if you'd take it as a reference)
Technically, the Hammerhead ships in SWTOR and KOTOR were a different class of ship...larger and designed as warships, as opposed to these later and smaller more freighter designs. The SWTOR ones were Thranta-class corvettes, I believe. But yes, they are definitely closely related. In case that last wasn't obvious...
I'm not sure "a huge, complex trend" is strictly accurate when describing a pretty simple fact - Chinese audiences like seeing Chinese actors, and the Chinese market is enormous.
Im not sure if anyone else has added a comment about Scarif but here is what I have heard. Force Awakens and The Last Jedi were filmed a fair bit here in Ireland in Counties Kerry, Cork and Donegal. Rumour has it that people from County Clare made remarks that they got no Star Wars filming at all and, as a nod to that, Scarif was named after the tiny town of Scarrif which is very close to the beautiful town of Killaloe that has a wonderful lake which I heard was scouted as a possible location....So, being Irish myself and a Star Wars fan, I like to think that the Scarif naming is a reference to Scarrif in County Clare. :)
Incredible in-depth vid. There were so many things I never would've known. Your usage of R1 footage and concept art was really helpful and something I haven't seen in other videos of this type. Thanks for sharing.
Also, although this movie was brilliant, it would've been better with Senna & Lunak or more creature leads in general because the cast was a little too human-centric. It would've been cool seeing Two Tubes, Weeteef, or Senna & Lunak fighting alongside our human leads to the end, using their special skills and sacrificing just as much.
I would bet anything that when we hear "General Syndulla" called over the intercom on Yavin that it is in fact Hera they are referring to. Especially given the fact that we do see Chopper in the background there too. And I also bet that the series Rebels will end with what's left of the Rebel crew from the show going off to fight in the battle of Scarif. We'll end up seeing the battle of Scarif from the Rebels cast perspectives. In my opinion, that would really be a perfect way to end that show too. We do know that Rex survives the show Rebels because he is in ROTJ as confirmed by Dave Filoni, but as for the fates of the rest of the cast, I have no clue. Having said that, I do think that Ezra survives the Rebels series because I truly think the character that Benicio del Toro is playing in The Last Jedi is Ezra.
In the latest Rebel Alliance comic, commander kreel monologues about how he thought he would die in fighting pits, until he was saved by the empire and saw his first stormtrooper, the most beautiful thing he ever saw
I was a bit hesitant to go through a 47 mins video about this beloved movie of mine. Believe me I enjoyed every single minute of it, that lead me into subscribing to your channel. Great work mate. Thanks and keeping up like this !!!!
The " Blacksaber" reference could also be attributed to the Kevin J Anderson novel "Darksaber" Where the Death Star super laser was mounted in a cylindrical craft, which resembled a Lightsaber.
You missed the Ghost. In the background of the movie at 17:26 in the far upper left corner, you can see the front of the Ghost from Star Wars rebels. Which makes sense since we see Chopper and we hear them call for "General Syndulla." But this also means when they call for General Syndulla it was probably Hera.
Midiclorianers are not that stupid. A galaxy-wide republic does not believe in a "mystical thing called force that is in every lifeforms", no, the senate needed facts, scientific facts. So, the science explored that "force" and they could describe it scientifically with the midiclorians, which eventually even the Jedi accepted as a unit, to describe the force.
I thought it was also interesting that the side gun on the U-wing (37:52) looks like is made from a real gun, kinda like all the blasters from the Original trilogy were made from old WW2 guns, in particular it appears to be a Vietnam war machine gun (I think its an M60 though I'm not sure) that was also used as a side gun on american helicopters during that war, probably to help solidify the Vietnam look.
According to Lucas, Threepio and Artoo were to appear in every SW movie because the saga is told by them. Except Solo... which explains a lot about that films failure.
Parts of Scarif base were filmed in Canary Wharf's London Underground station, it was cut from the release version but it's very obvious in one of the early trailers
The dab is so annoying and stupid!!!!! Stop pointing it out when it's not there!!!!! I can't wait for that stupid meme to f**king die and burn in hell for eternity!!!! #MURDERTHEDAB
The "white uniformed officer" at 16:07 is Wullf Yularen who was a former Admiral for the republic during the clone wars and commonly served under Anakin Skywalker.
Rogue one is prob the best Star Wars "Movie" since the Original Trilogy. And that is just sad. The Prequels were almost as good. The latest trilogy is just rubbish. No Originality, no good story line, no good characters. 3 of the most important aspects in making a great movie. Lets not even start talking about them being Star Wars ... And as for Solo ... ppfftttt ... Was barely able to tell it was a Star Wars movie.
