One of the reasons I was glad you did Rebels before The Bad Batch was that you would get to know Kanan's character in Rebels and then I was hoping you would freak out when you saw him in the pilot of The Bad Batch for example. It meant more to see Kanan as a cameo when you got to know him rather than seeing him as an unknown Jedi to you and then later seeing him in Rebels and likely us commentors would have to tell you that you saw him already. There will be other cameos coming like Fennec Shand recently. Some will be really awesome because you have seen them before and what they meant to you. 😁

The leader of the Zygerrian slave traders, his name is Raney, and his pet that looks like a giant draco lizard 🦎 is called a brezak. Is apparently reptavian (part reptile part avian (bird)). Is also known as a Zygerrian gliding lizard 🤔.

This show definitely replaces Clone Wars in spirit for me too. The story of how the Galaxy transitions to Empire control is a really interesting concept! Season 2 is in January so you don’t gotta wait at all lol

Moochi is the Rancor Luke fought in Return of the Jedi. She's just a lot younger here. Remember Luke was only born a few days ago at this point.

They are not the same Rancor. The Rancor in Return of the Jedi is a male named Pateesa, and was giving to Jabba by Bib Fortuna before he became Jabba's Majordomo, before or during 32 BBY. This info is from the canon novel Aftermath: Life Debt.

I do believe they're trying to imply that Moochi is the rancor Luke kills in Return of the Jedi. I know that rancor was called Pateesa, but that's a Huttese word so Jabba could've very easily just renamed it when he got it.

They are different. The Rancor in Return of the Jedi is male, Moochi is female.

I did not watch clone wars or the Rebels before the pandemic. I was like I don't have time for all that and it's cartoons. But when I watch Mandalorian, I was like who are these people. What's a dark saber. Who is Bo Katan and Ahsoka. I then got into reaction videos. Before I was like, I'm not watching somebody else watch tv, are you kidding me. Then I went to Blind Wave's reactions of Mando and watched the episode and then their reaction. And they got me dying to watch the clone wars. So I binged that and Rebels. Love it. I started Resistence but haven't finished it. Too much other Star Wars has come out. But I love taking this journey with you. Watched the movies growing up and love all the extras. You have so much good stuff ahead of you.

Sid’s one of the best characters in this show. I like seeing more Trandoshans. You’ve seen a Rancor before. Jabba kept one under his throne in Return of the Jedi. I believe Muchi is unfortunately the very same one that Luke fights and kills in that movie.

I’m aware of the Aftermath novels. But those books have been repeatedly contradicted, especially when it comes to Cobb Vanth. So I don’t put nearly as much stock in them, especially with how loose Filoni plays with secondary canon material like books and comics. He basically retcons wherever and whenever he sees fit, so I wouldn’t put it past him to change the Rancor to Moochi and basically ignore that book entirely, something he already kind of has.

I don't think we have confirmation of this, but I think Crosshair is training the ones that will become the first Death Troopers. Remember, those guys wear that black armour and have much better aim than regular white armoured stormtroopers.

The animation style of Rebels may be kid-like, but the themes in that show certainly aren't. How to deal with darkness, losing/finding family, what does family truly mean, sacrificing one's life for your friends, how to truly see in the deepest sense, trust, honor, facing your often terrible past, losing someone you love, and on and on.

No it wasn't. This was all discussed when this episode first came out. Muchie and Pateesa are different rancors. Muchie is female. Pateesa is male. Luke killed Pateesa.

@@ItApproaches We don't know what happened to Muchi, but what we do know is that Muchi was not the rancor from return of the Jedi. That was Pateesa. As Muchi is female, she could have been used for breeding, or Jabba could have just traded her away for something else, or Muchi could have been a gift for someone else. This does make sense. They're different rancors.

@@ItApproaches It's an assumption to think that they're the same rancor. Pateesa's name or gender isn't mentioned in Return of the Jedi? Yeah, neither is the word 'ewok'. The rancor in Return of the Jedi is identified as a male named Pateesa in the 2016 canon Star Wars novel "Aftermath: Life Debt". Not every single detail in Star Wars has to be connected. Jabba is rich. Very rich. Of course he can own multiple rancors. We see Jabba with different translator droids in The Clone Wars. Pateesa and Muchi are simply just different individual rancors, both owned by Jabba. That's not a difficult concept to understand.
