Star Wars The Black Series Deluxe Boba Fett Fixing Helmet Upgrade 

It's so weird they didn't make the helmet removeable in the first place as the scuplt actually looks stellar!

I don’t understand wtf Hasbro was thinking. They can give us a “Deluxe” Mando with removeable helmet and Din Djarin headsculpt but half ass a “Deluxe” Boba with unpainted headsculpt with helmet glued on?!?! Seriously WTF Hasbro?!?!

As a fellow modeler/painter, you killed it my friend!! That helmet shape really Madre a good difference, along with the black washing, and extra battle damage, and all the other tlc you added to the gauntlets etc is perfect, can't wait to get mine, and add my touches, cheers!!

Nice job. I'm not brave enough to attempt removing the helmet so I'll just try heating it up to fix the shape. Hasbro needs to hire better quality control.

The head under helmet designed was actually supposed to lead to less warped helmets and more natural looking head/body ratios. Shame it doesn’t always work.

For the price, it's a shame we need to fix it... I will stay with the bandai model kit version, my favorite boba fett figure, did several custom with it, really happy.

Nice job! The black wash on the pants and undersuit are definitely needed. Looks tons better. I think if I were to remove the helmet, once it got to the correct shape I might glue it back on. I don't have painting skills so I wouldn't attempt painting the face.

The quality increased tenfold when you put a little effort into it! Think I’ll still get this one but maybe only at a cheaper price. If I do get him I’ll be following your steps to fixing him!

I've never tried customizing before, but this video has given me a little more confidence to try it out on one of the Bobas I have on the way 👍 And just in case I mess it up, I'll have a back up lol

What a letdown. Hasbro went super cheap. I like the head that they give you with the figure, but seems a waste to not make a removeable helmet for this delux version. Very strange. But, that being said, great work on doing what Hasbro should have done. Awesome job!!

I wonder if a wee bit of foam/sponge glued in the inside back of the helmet would make it more snug and take away the Wobblies but still keep it easily removable? Great ideas and work!!!

I think that the head should have looked exactly like Jango Fett in Attack Of The Clones, with the black hair and the stubble.

Outstanding Job. Creating a more athletic one off.

I had always wanted to try this method on a figure before, but I usually choose good QCed figures or just fix it without water. I finally tried it today with my brand new Neca Jungle Hunter Predator's wrist blades, and the plastic is so thin I just ran them under hot water for 30 seconds and bent them back out. They were bending inwards and are supposed to be spaced apart, so I separated them and now they look great. I am probably going to get this figure and maybe I'll get a good one, but If not the Predator was my trial run. Thanks for the walkthrough of the trick and that custom is amazing!

Great job. I hope the Book Of Boba Fett covers how he escaped the Sarlacc Pit, Legends he's him igniting the remaining fuel in his jetpack. This would account for his advanced aged appearance, scarring, and loss of hair. Prior to the Sarlacc, I would imagine he looked more like Jengo did in Attack of the Clones, a few more scars obviously. It appears you were going for more of a bald and scarred for this version. In the Mandalorian he should be in his early 40s, about the same age as his father in Attack of the Clones. What is your "in story" reasoning for his Mandalorian appearance during Return of the Jedi? You did a great job, I'm just trying to understand. Your face looks tons better than I could do!!!! Great details.

If I have to fix a figure right out of the box then I don’t want it. Damn shame here, and that’s not the only problem with Boba

I like to customize to so as a fellow customizer a nice tip to use is using a thumbtack or tooth pic for the tinny details such as the eyes and lips,helps me a ton.

Where did you get your Boba Fett from? Everywhere I've looked (UK websites) says its coming towards the end of April

not sure why people hate this figure? it's consistent with all other black series figures. what do these people expect? maybe they should get mafex, figuarts or hot toys and stop complaining 🤔 or, more likely, they'll complain anyway...

Approve of the effort. you could try some foam to get non abrasive padding, like people do with irl helmets. maybe weatherstrips?

Nice paintwork. Just had an idea though. I think it would be possible to upgrade the right hand gauntlet hoses by cutting them off and using a pin vise to install more screen accurate hoses. You could use ignition wire for models or even fishing line.

I hope they fix this problem if they make a Mando version, good job! 👍👌👌

Perhaps a way to make the helmet less loose one could make a thin padded coif like the 3.75 ESB version that had a removable helmet.

I don't know why hasbro just don't make the helmets removable or more easily removable.. even if they dont paint the head leave us the option to paint it ourselves if we want it.

I think your head paint looks very good just the eye brows look a bit too thick.

This is really stupid by Hasbro,they use a sculpted,existing head sculpt,just to glue a helmet on!

Hasbro should have skipped the accessories and just put more effort into paint detail and accuracy.

Looks good, glad to see we can fix the mess Hasbro gave us. Have you thought of using hot glue to tighten the helmet fit?...maybe try some petroleum jelly on his head and a dab of hot glue into the helmet and push the head into it until it dries. Should be able to pop the helmet back off and clean the head and it may give you a better fit going forward.

A deluxe figure ? Disipointing really ... Was looking forward to getting mine ..still waiting ...now I've got too do this ... Cool what you have done .... Don't know why they bothered when it's not ment too come off anyway !

Nice work! I was really disappointed after getting this toy in the mail. I think the Empire version was much better. They should have just used or retooled that head if they really wanted the range finder to pivot.

here in germany this figure was supposed to come out earlier this month but for some reason it has gotten a new early june release date which is almost 2 months after the initial date. Could that be a sign that they are fixing it? I surely hope so 'cause I had it preordered ;) Edit: On a second thought, it might've been a simple delay because of the 'rona...

Everyone should just be refunding it (after opening, so it can't be resold as new). it's a damaged item and hasbro needs to be sent a message.
