Here from the Canon update, Jango Fett is now Mandalorian and does indeed wear Beskar. I'm thinking of getting this figure, I've got the Boba Fett figure coming next year. Hoping they make a figure for Bobas look in The Mandalorian.

I always felt that Jango and Boba were excellent bounty hunters who somehow got the armor (fighting, stealing, etc.). Great review as always!

Honestly, I prefer the look of the older one, the new one looks too toyish to me (the colors are too bright, especially on the jetpack, also the painting on the cloth). Good review

a flamethrower effect (for the left gauntlet), wrist blade and maybe jetpack blast effects would have been a nice touch.

Great review. I have the original but just ordered this new one. They definitely should have made 2 different heads for this one, the helmet kind of smashes the nose on the original one. It also distorts the helmet.

glad I was able to get a Jango finally, but I wish his head was separate also. The helmet is too big, and a bit too tall as well. Would be near perfect if the helmet was accurate for me tbh

GameStop delivered my Nihilus and Purge Trooper this week and they are both 100% bad to the ass. I got this Jango a few weeks ago but haven’t opened one yet. Can’t wait now for the Biker Scout. This Gaming Greats line has turned out to be one of my favorite subsets of the Black Series line. Thanks for this review. I’ve been curious as to how it compares to original.

I would like to have seen a bit of remolding, but the update is decent. I actually was not planning on getting this figure, but I ran into it in the wild at my local EbGames, which pretty much always ends up with me purchasing the figure. Thanks for the comparison. My original is in storage at the mo,ment so I have been unable to compare.

Jango is a mando you gotta read the comics it explains alot the reason they say he not a mando in the show is because the hippie mandos dont support the mando faction jango comes from

Yeah, the latest season of Mandalorian sort of confirms he was definitely a Mandalorian. I’m back on the Jango being a Mando side of the argument.

That’s fair! I’m glad Mando cleared some of that up! Jango was definitely a foundling. Boba doesn’t really consider himself to be a Mandalorian. He’s not against it, it just seems like he doesn’t care.

I know this is an old video, but would you say that it's worth it to get this Jango over the SHF version? I ask because there's not a huge price difference and I wonder if I should just get it for another twenty dollars or so.

I got this because I missed out on it the first time around. I'm having a problem with his standing. It must be the Crocs that he's wearing. He is standing with help of the Dorito chip stand. I'll put him on a flight stand to see if it'll improve my view of him. If I had to give him a rating it would be a meh.

The original has the same issue. They didn't carve out enough material for the ankle articulation and he just feels top-heavy.

Definitely a much better face sculpt but yeah the articulation sucks a bit. I wish they would have updated him, I know why Hasbro didn't, but still. Great review Mike!

TK6287 It’s the same sculpt. It just has photo-real applied to the face. That just shows you what a HUGE difference paint makes. A bad paint job can ruin an otherwise great sculpt. That’s been the case with most Black Series figures. They had good faces that were let down by awful paint applications. The sculpts were there. Also, they didn’t update the body because that would have cost more money. It’s cheaper to re-use molds than it is to sculpt new ones or retool existing ones.

Hmmm...tenpting. I might just get this guy for his head. Then colour the hair light blond and put it onto a clonetrooper to get a Captain Rex...Then glue on the helmet onto the body to keep Jango Fett. Or maybe wait for Rex with that face?

I’m planning on using the legs and holsters from this Jango, with the rest of the body from the new ROTJ Boba to make a custom Jango because the proportions here are atrocious. Dudes got gorilla arms and the articulation is awful too

They all have a dent. The original figure was based off the end of the movie, and Jango got that dent from hitting his head on the door of the Slave 1 after escaping from Kenobi.

The crotch Joint is broken on my SHF version. I bought it from a whole-seller that sells warehouse returns from BBTS for like $15. Even with a broken and botched glue repair joint at the legs, I prefer it to this BS "articulation". The Plastic quality makes it look like a Dollarstore special to me. Guess this release is good for those without options.

I actually prefer the Dirtier Armor on the Original Release Jango. I had initially gotten one when he first came out that had Super Clean Silver Paint which made him look Cheap in my opinion. It also didn't help that He had the Permanent Suprised Look with His Eyebrows half way up his Forehead. I found a few more a month or so later so I Returned the first one for one with Much More Paint Wash on the Armor and with Better Eyebrows. I do like the Photo-Real Face Paint on this New One, but I'm not going to pay $28 for the Head and a Different Backpack. This is an Easy Pass for Me.

My father in law doesn't like the fett's because they aren't Mando. For me, in episode ll he pretty much says he's just a man making it in the world. Bounty outlaw that goes by his own code, with his clone son haha

Technically, in the original 1977-2014 continuity, which is now Legends, Jango Fett, if I remember correctly, was a Mandalorian, whom bounty hunter culture was popular upon. Boba Fett even became the leader of Mandalore in Legends. In current Disney canon, however, Jango Fett, I believe, was technically a Mandalorian by adoption. He was found by a group of Mandalorians, and was raised by the group's leader, who trained him, and made him his apprentice. Because of this, he adopted the Mandolorian culture, which is why the Clones, in turn, embraced their "father's" Mandalorian culture, for example, the Jaig eyes, among other things. Therefore, I'd say it's safe to say that Jango Fett and Boba Fett are one way, or another Mandalorians.

Dave Filoni said in The Clone Wars season 2 featurette that George Lucas didn't consider Jango Fett a Mandalorian. And the line I alluded to in the review was in The Clone Wars pre-Disney era. I hope we get more clarification on this in season 2 of The Mandalorian.

@@MikeKaess I know, but in the original canon, if my memory serves me correctly, they were Mandalorian. Even with the Disney canon, Jango was adopted into Mandalorian Culture. I personally prefer the idea of Jango being Mandalorian, whether being adopted or not.

You are right. His family was murdered by death watch as a kid and he was saved by a mandalorian named jaster mareel who then trained and raised him in the culture. It's all in jango fett open season. Really good read. Its unfortunately not cannon anymore though.

@@nerfherderzach866 Even in modern canon, I've seen people debunk him not being a Mandalorian. In the current canon, Jango is thought to be from a planet or moon in the Mandalore sector, therefore making him a Mandalorian.

This is a hard pass for me. I own the original and being in only AOTC I can't justify $25 for a new backpack. The head update for me is irrelevant as I never take the helmets off. Overall a big missed opportunity.
