No point in running away, Grievous would've pounced on him. At least he would've stood a chance had he immediately shot him and besides, clones are bred for war. I doubt they understand the meaning of "run away".
Clone Troopers were Mandalorian clones, and trained as such. In clone training there is a "retreat" somewhere in there, even though it's very rarely used. However if the clones would be just a bit cowardly or reasonable, they wouldn't be there. Watch this, or the newer show. Clones are outnumbered 1 to 10 and they fall pretty fast too. Who would want to be in a war you cannot win?
One thing i like about these clones is they don't talk in battle. They're absolutely disciplined, what you would expect from soldiers that were genetically engineered.
This are ARC Troopers not the regular Clone Trooper you would found, they are and Elite group Advance Recon Comando. Some of them even switch places with Clone Comandos in some mission here and there.
I like how as soon as he loses four of his men, the squad leader imedeietly calls in for the gunship support. He watched four highly skilled veterans get cut down like wheat in a second and instantly knew it was time to cut and run. Smartest trooper right there.
I like how Grievous went from "They don't need psycological warfare, they have *me.* " and mocking the jedi for running to: "DECEPTICONS! RETREEEEEEEAAAT!"
Yeah something I’ve noticed is how Grievous retreats whenever there are reinforcements or the other guy starts using the Force, he knows how powerful those things are
@@hobomike6935He's a great tactician. He knows when he's outmatched and won't sacrifice himself pointlessly. As a non-force-user, his chances against a motherflipping LAAT 1 vs 1 were practically 0.
There's a reason Fordo is known as the most badass trooper. He even comes with a sickass LAAT and silent kickass crew that went toe to toe with grievous.
Aaron Davis which one? He had 2. First when the ARCs arrived and then with the gunship (who appeared to literally be waiting for the back up order on the other side of the wall).
First 'Oh Shit' moment was when the clones were basically like "Hey a spider, nuke it." and the second one was where he turned around to face the gun ship like *ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?*
Ki Adi Mundi in this series is pretty much out of character for his canon potrayal, he was concerned over other Jedi. And when Fordo told him the others are dead he was upset. Unlike how in canon he was the most dogmatic and he was the one who told Anakin not to grieve his fallen comrades.
@@AshanBhatoa no it's accurate. Ki-Adi was so far down the rabbit hole of emotionless Jedi dogma that he didn't even care when his own family were slaughtered, even though he's a member of an endangered species. His canon portrayal is an illustration of why the philosophies preached by the Jedi in this era are awful, he basically transformed himself into a callous, unfeeling shell
So... did Fordo just basically say to ki adi mundi, one of the most revered members of the jedi council, to fuck off and shut up because his idea was dumb while still being incredibly polite for a battle scenario?
@@ilikepigeons6101 and he earned his lightsabers through combat which is something you don’t see him do in the 2008 clone wars as well as the movie where he just cowardly takes their light sabers before even having a proper fight and still proceeds to lose.
Right Grievous doesn't have the force so he can't really deflect their blasters so he avoids them as hard as possible until he can take a position in there center where the blasters are difficult to use.
@@Warcodered01 Grievous can deflect blaster bolts though, he doesn’t need the force like most Jedi do because he can move at Hypersonic speeds to an even greater degree than Mace Windu can. He even casually deflects them with his clawed hands in labyrinth of evil, simply for effect. Mace himself called his speed astounding when fighting him on Coruscant.
It's insane how they managed to make the troopers THIS much more badass than any other portrayal of them.. and the other portrayals were fantastic! Just goes to show how above and beyond they went with this show
They never made a "The" Clone Wars episode about the LAAT pilots. This is a failure and a travesty of the highest order. You can't convince me otherwise.
That show would've been perfect for that, too. Would explore some emotional/character driven themes about the responsibility to bring back your brothers to safety or some such.
1:29 "Oh shit, that clone has a 6 cannons rotative machine gun, this can't be better" Few moments later a clone drops with a 8 cannons AA gun in his chest... "Holy shit man!"
@@Brendan-kx8iy No, force sensitive people can slightly glimpse into the future and predict a blast's trajectory to deflect it. Grievous might be fast but he isnt force sensitive, and also definitely not FASTER than a bullet.
@@MarcoAdventures and please, do tell what you’re basing that stupid subsonic grievous impression off of. Nothing. Even low tier Jedi and Sith, even non force using but enhanced supersoldiers like clone assassins or somewhat force sensitive and superior counterparts, Royal guards, and magnaguards have light speed feats that other characters scale off of. Grievous moves so fast to regular people’s vision that he teleports lol. He also scales above people like Darth Marr who can casually do the same to top-middle tier Sith like Darth Lachris, who aren’t anywhere close to fodder given both the Darth title and the ability to fight with act II Barsen’thor. Darth Marr being on Obi Wan’s level at best. This is all officially stated in novelizations by the way, so don’t try and lowball Star Wars just because badass normals get to shine in environments that should kill them within nanoseconds. Batman does this too, yet I don’t see you guys trying to discredit Superman’s or the justice league’s power levels because of it. In fact, in spite of anime characters getting MUCH better portrayals than western superheroes against regular humans, I see you guys always going on and on about it being death sentences for them against comic book supers. So why the sudden change in attitude just because Star Wars may have some common western superhero inconsistencies just due to the writers being human? Learn powerscaling before you try and disingenuously downplay the Star Wars universe like all the fanatics for the fodder that is the modern military who would lose to even Konosuba characters without spamming the strongest bombs humanity has try and do. Him not being force sensitive is irrelevant lol. This is a fictional universe where characters have superpowers and/or crazy cybernetics to emulate them. This is just one of the things you’re going to have to accept, much like Cyborg himself in DC or how people like Aquaman or Wonder Woman are as strong as they are. Not to mention Labyrinth Of Evil also canonically has him casually bat bolts aside from Palpatine’s personal guards, simply for dramatic effect. He wasn’t even trying hard lol.
Fordo so bad ass he makes Rex look like a stormtrooper in comparison are we sure this wasn't actually Jango Fett himself and Mace Windu killed a clone.
Perhaps Jango and Fordo are clones from tissue samples of Cassus Fett? The man took down an Old Republic dreadnought single-handedly, then disappeared.
I love this. Littery everything about it. Fordo and the Arc troopers are a gold mine for more. The gunship The gunship 40/10 oh i love it so much. Grevious is also pretty well done and i would be shitting my pants at the sight of him.
Man I love the mandalorian protector symbol on the pilot's helmet. I really liked legends clones incorporating elements of mando culture and the old republic commando books exploring that. Wish they kept it in canon
FBI all the clones you mentioned are not ARCs (Advanced Recon Commandos). Fives and echo aren’t true ARCs either, they only got promoted to ones. The REAL ARCs consisted of the Null and later Alpha ARCs who were genetically augmented from birth to be superior to regular clones like all the ones you mentioned. They were super soldiers with superior equipment, tactics, strength, speed and intelligence. Fives and Echo are just normal clones who got better equipment after becoming what we call “promoted ARCs”
When I was a smol boi, I thought the red arc trooper was a young Captain Rex cuz he was like the only guy in the Star Wars universe with dual wield pistols
Nøkk_Is_Spooky 69 You know. You honestly probably aren’t wrong. Wouldn’t be shocked if he was an arc trooper than got transferred to be lead the literally best of the best with the best Jedi in the order. I mean the arc troopers are awesome. But to be the CAPTAIN OF THE FREAKING 501st. That’s hell of a promotion
They changed that because then you don't feel the characters in real danger. In Legends, they could be machines for what they may seem. In Canon, they're soldiers, they react as living beings, you empathize with the characters more.
@@valterfara5027 I mean Arcs especially the Alpha and Null Class Arcs are one man armies, trained by the very best of Mandalorian warriors. So They should be able to take on entire regiments by themselves. Shit the Standard issue Clone was worth 20 battle droids alone.
2:47-2:48 I srsly love that the storyboard and/or animators included that ARC Trooper in the center drawing his sidearm when Grievious destroys his rifle.
That pilot was the MVP of the mission. I know this was aimed as a kids show, but after watching Top Gun, you can appreciate more how difficult flying so low, so fast, and maneuvering in such close spaces truly is
This is the reason I go back to this version of the clone wars. Also this one actually felt like it tied into the movies a bit more and actually felt like a war. Nice
as much of a masterpiece as this show is does anyone have else noticed that when the ship shoots Grevious is out running the blasts which means he is moving faster than the speed of light, so?
Well he was constructed in the way to respond even to 24 strikes per second that could overwhelm even a Jedi, but Obi-Wan was the Master of the defensive Form
Those blasts dp not kove at the speed of light. They're plasma, like lightning which means they probably move at less than 40% of the speed of light. Plasma is just matter in an extremely hot state.
Props to the pilot for not only covering their escape by blowing up the B2s in advance, but for also headbutting through a wall with the gunship the moment Fordo calls backup.
One thing I really like about this is it actually shows the clones reloading their guns because I do not think there has every been a scene were a clone or stormtrooper reloaded their weapon.
OK, this isn't the most important detail, but can we talk about that goddamn under barrel grenade launcher? They better bring it back in a battlefront game or something one day
To this day my favorite Star Wars scene ever. Gunship: Comes crashing through the wall fully loaded starring down grievous Grievous: That’s a cute toy you got there
