Diamond Gaming there could only be two Sith Lords at a time, according to the Rule of Two. This even stood in the old republic. The other people wielding red lightsabers in the Coruscant battle were Sith Assassins, Dark Jedi and Inquisitors. The only Sith right then was Malgus, the guy in front.
Polo Trav What are you going on about? All of those people in that ship were Sith, Malgus just led the attack. The Rule of Two was created 2000 years after these cinematics.
@@polotrav3439 that's just factually incorrect. The Rule of One didn't become a thing until Darth Bane, the Sith'ari. He stated that there could only be two. A Master and Apprentice. Kinda sad that the fighting style of the Jedi and Sith deteriorated as time went on. But it makes sense: Old Republic: Thousands of Jedi and Sith at war constantly training in their own respective temples Clone wars Era: While Jedi retain a large amount of their population and still have temples, training their jedis since childhood, the Sith have been reduced to single didgets, most being Ex Jedi who just use the combat they learned before with elements from the darkside Civil War Era: Jedi are in hiding, most Jedi in their teens/young adults, were padawans during Order 66, so they're not as good as the past era. And now Jedi are being trained without the resources their ancestors had, and with less time as well now that they are being hunted New Era: The only Masters who are training the new Jedi(Rey, Kylo) are Luke and Leia, who weren't born or trained during the Clone wars era do they weren't ever going to be able to come close to the level of skill of the likes of Anakin, Obi wan, or even Luke Skywalker
I’m not 100% sure but if you look deeper into the comics and side stories, Luke travels to different ancient Jedi temples and learns from past masters. I could be wrong but I remember hearing something like that.
Mises Hayek These are cinematic trailers for the Old republic. It’s definitely not like this in the game, but it’s can be quite enjoyable. I suggest you look it up
Why does the old republic look like their technology is far more advanced then what we see in the other movies? Like they have full armies of ships and advanced weapons
during the original trilogy the empire had taken over and basically made the whole galaxy a waste land. Plus a lot of planets got destroyed by the death star. And i would say there was advanced technology in the prequel era.
SmugGaming because the old republic was far more intricate with their dress making beautiful yet war ready outfits, as well as making resistant materials. The new republic found it their way to own robes which made them more susceptible to injury
@@troyduncan191 No, it is because the setting of the OT was primarily in the Outer Rim. A more free, less innovated and advanced region of the galaxy. Also think about technological stagnation.
13:46 This scene right here, perfectly describes how darkness can change a person into someone entirely else. The way his eyes go from blue to orange and back. This scene alone explains so well how when Anakin became consumed by darkness and turned into Vader, he became an entirely different person, with no bits of the old Anakin left.
Indeed, some people say that it's ridiculous how fast Anakin went and slaughtered children. But when you think about it, it makes perfect sense. The dark side changes people and makes them do things they would normally never do. And Sidious told Anakin that only by gaining enough strength in the dark side, would he be able to save Padme. And what better way than to kill younglings?
@@nutellaninja4667 tbh if you look at the brother/son, he turned dark through numerous battles and not being good enough for his father. The clone wars was necessary to show anakins fall in a realistic light
Obi wan vs. Anakin was pretty good, especially since you knew the characters better so its easier to connect with. But these are definitely very well done.
Besides the fight itself, I also like how the first chronological one in these TOR cinematics had an outcome that was completely different and never happened in the films - started off with two Jedi vs. Sith, then only one Jedi is left to fight, but instead of dying like most people would expect because they think 2 to 1 is outmatched, he actually manages to both hold his own against the two Sith and defeat one of them before dying himself at the hands of the other one. It makes for an interesting shift in power dynamic and mixes things up with the "apprentice killing master" principle in the Rule of Two.
I would pay big bucks to see a whole movie of this kind of animation. Star Wars shouldnt just be live action or cartoons, it should be computer graphics as well. If Final Fantasy can make a movie like this, so should Lucasfilm
@@brendonhavener they were much more plentiful, not as powerful as the rule of 2 would demand. strength in numbers though! makes for much better battles imo.

@@mrpj1390 at this point, idgaf what disney does, star wars is dead to me since that travesty of an episode 8... episode 7 was ok, it raised a couple of questions, it failed on answering some very needed ones but things were salvageable. also rogue one was brilliant. but tlj was so bad, so lore breaking, so immersion breaking, and so badly written that there's no way I can think about star wars without feeling bad about it
This is the true Star Wars. It's a grand, operatic, highly emotional journey that stretches over thousands of years. Disney's franchise is so much smaller and less impressive in terms of scope and vision that it's not even funny. These short films have so much more emotion, action, and storytelling in them than the entirety of the new movie franchise.
@@kenpoarniceguy1 Cinematography *is* storytelling. That is the unique quality of movies - or cutscenes - over books or games. It's why we watch them in the first place. The original Star Wars trilogy lives and breathes that ideal and even the sequels - for all their flaws - do a decent job of conveying that. It's only the past 10 years or so that movies show stuff exclusively to look cool rather than get a point across.
I honestly disagree. To me Star Wars is a mix of Jedi (who are less powerful than the Gods they made in these animations) but also things like.. Han and Leia shooting Stormtroopers in Bespin for example. Here they are throwing huge platforms and pillars around with EASE whereas even Yoda struggled with something that big (which is obvious, because Jedi are not Gods). I loved seeing even jedi having to be careful and seeing that even though Luke for example was a Jedi, he still needed a plan and that Han, Leia and Chewbacca and the rest of the rebel alliance still proved to be valuable fighters in the war. And even in the prequels Jedi still were much more down-to-earth. I mean, Satele Shan literally uses a force kamehameha. I do think Star Wars is grand and operatic and highly emotional, but to me thats like Qui-Gon and Obi vs Darth Maul, or even Luke vs Vader in Return of the Jedi. To me these scenes are epic and fun and all but it's just something to see without thinking too much about it. To me the type of story told in episodes 1-9 is much more compelling.
@@cristianowey an all out war between jedi and sith right off the back sounds way more compelling than a rag tag group of rebels and mary sue fighting an evil empire for the second time.

That Jedi is so fucking skilled to be able to duel two Siths at once. Although for a short period before he died. Not to mention that he turned off one side of the saber to trick the siths into forgetting that it was a double side so he could use the other side for a sneak attack. Regardless this entire animation is god tier and literally brings my vision of how Jedi and Sith should be to life.
It’s also cool to see another Zabrak jedi. You hardly get to see them on the lightside, as they are inhabitants of a planet permeating with immense darkside energy
SydAL Productions The Jedis in the clone wars era have the same power of the jedis of the old republic era but the movies had his limits of showing his powers in the games , comics and series like the clone wars of 2003 you can see that they were very powerful
Anakin was already destined to be the most powerful Jedi who ever existed. And when he became Vader, he was even more powerful, despite his potential being limited. Honestly, Vader would make these guys look like runts when he blitzes through them and overpowers them with superior strength, speed, and Force power.

Before the Star Wars canon, the old republic ruled supreme for a thousand millennia. This was the era of the most powerful Jedi and sith, where they clashed openly without the government batting an eye. Most people do not realize that even Yoda or a full powered Rey would have trouble going against those guys. I would love to see this made into an actual movie series or at least a tv show.

In my honest opinion, the sequel trilogy is just flat. To those who dont understand why the fanbase is upset, let me try to explain it to you. First, we had most of our expanded universe removed from canon. Then we were promised a groundbreaking new trilogy with astounding visuals, storytelling and deep new characters. Then we went to see it and we got an almost carbon copy of the OT, just bigger. I'll be one of the first to admit that prequels were lacking. The original fanbase felt that they were unneccessary. HOWEVER, we got to see the rise and fall of one of the greatest villains in all of cinema. Then, when watched with the OT we got to see the redemption of a man who lost everything in his pursuit to protect it. People love the Clone Wars cartoon because we get to see the details and events of an entire war that was just glossed over in the movies. We also have Rogue One which went through to describe, probably one of the greatest victories for the Rebellion against the Galactic Empire. People love the games because we get to see the heroes and villain of the Star Wars universe who were forgotten in the face of more iconic events and people. For example, Revan one of the most influential force wielders in star wars lore. Star Killer, Vader's first apprentice and one of the most powerful force-wielders galactic republic-empire canon. Then we have the 8 heroes during the Great Galactic War which we play through in SWTOR. I could go on but I wont. We see major character development and storytelling in all of these sources of Star Wars lore, now "legends." We grew to love all of these characters. All of these stories. Some of us have bookshelves of all the lore that took place after the Galactic Civil War, which was then all rendered moot by this new trilogy. TFA was ok. To be completely honest I went in with very high expectations and a pretty closed mind. I was disappointed But I went back for TLJ with a more open mind as I assumed that they were just getting off to a shakey start, which happens almost every time a next generation series is attempted. I was very very disappointed. Luke Skywalker, the most powerful jedi in the entirety of Star Wars lore quit because he failed and he was scared. In legends, Luke took on Abeloth with an apprentice and 2 Sith. If you dont know who Abeloth is, she is the most powerful being in the galaxy. So powerful in fact that she had to be locked inside a black hole, and even then she was still so powerful in the force that she was able to influence force wielders that were halfway across the galaxy. We see him go from a scared little boy to one of the most powerful jedi in all of lore. But in the sequels, his academy fails once and he gives up to the point that he cuts off his connection the the force. That is weak. Now compare that to Rey and Kylo. Kylo is a sith wannabe who is slightly gifted for a force wielder who worshipped Darth Vader, and Rey who was a random scavenger in a nowhere sector of the galaxy who doesnt grow as a character nor fail as a force-wielder. Look at Luke, he got humiliated by Vader multiple times and then by Palpatine. Now onto a point of major failure by the staff. Kennedy stated that she introduced all of these new female characters because she felt that the Star Wars universe needed more powerful female characters. We had more than enough before. Jedi knight Ashoka Tano, Sith apprentice Asajj Ventress, Galactic Senator Padme Amadala, General Leia Organa, Jedi Master and lover of Revan Bastilla Shan, Jedi Grandmaster Satele Shan, Jedi master Shak-Ti, Jedi master Luminara Unduli, Jedi Master Aayla Secura, Mandalore the Avenger Shae Vizla, the entire Nightsister clan, every female Mandalorian. We had plenty. We want Star Wars politics not real life politics of the Political left and social justice warriors. We get enough of it on the news, we dont want it in our media as well. It was a trainwreck of a trilogy and a dumpster fire of Star Wars lore. And, as opposed the prequels that were just seen as unnecessary, the sequels weren't even asked for at all. What we were asking for was lore and stories about eras that we know close to nothing about. Like the dark Ages. Or the eras before Revan. Or the eras between Revan and the Old Republic era. Not a rehash replacement of our universe. We wanted them to expand the universe, not rewrite it. Last point, "The Rise Of Skywalker"? Really? The entirety of the 6 movies was about the rise of the Skywalker clan. And roughly 80% of all lore that takes place after the battle of Yavin, is about the Skywalker clan. Well, I ranted a bit but to those who read this far, thank you. And to those who support the sequels and read this anyway, thank you even more for keeping enough of an open mind to read someone else's argument. If you disagree please feel free to reply and we can DISCUSS the topic further, I will reply as soon as I see the reply. Sometimes you dont get a notification of replies, you know how it it.
