the old republic is good m8 not the best but i mean the stories of the classes are amazing and the DLC stuff is also great of they can be A LOT better but yea you make it seem like the game sucks
The last 2 trailers, 'Sacrifice' and 'Betrayal' might be my favorite Star Wars storytelling, and what's incredible about them is there is so little dialogue. 'Sacrifice' is just the father, Valkorian's monologue. And 'Betrayal' is a total of maybe 11 words? And the fights are better than anything in the movies. I get people liking the 'weight' of the sabers, but this is how Jedi and Sith should fight.
The way the brother in white clothing gets increasingly more discontent with their father not giving them any approval until he finally snaps at the end is amazing.
yeah i just noticed that. they changed the dialogue cos ive got the original speech on the trailers i downloaded a few years ago. at the end of Deceived it should have said "And now. your Republic shall fall".. (cue music)
Yes they did. The original trailers that were released before the game had different dialogue. Then for whatever reason they changed it for the cinematics in the actual game, which are the ones you see here.
Or any chat in the game for that matter. I’ve literally had general chat turned off almost 2 years. They only time I use it is when I want to fight a boss. (8 month of those 2 years was me not playing because of school)
Like 10-15 min and I care far more this female jedi storyline than Rey. They need to have these guys do a full Star Wars movie the writing and visuals tell such an amazing story with little dialogue
Senya didn't have the 10-15 min time he had mentioned though personally I do like Senya just a bit more than Satele. Mostly due to the inner struggle she gets when we see her go through her story a bit.(I don't wanna mention it here as there are clearly people who still haven't played through it yet but I will assume you know what I mean)
No, the woman in the white armour in the last trailer isn't a Jedi. She's a Knight Of Zakuul named Senya Tirall, and the Knights were their own institution of Force-users. Senya was the wife of Valkorion, the Emperor of Zakuul, and mother of the twins Arcann and Thexan (whom Arcann killed in the throne room), and their sister Vaylin, the blonde girl who was taken away. Zakuul was an Empire which arose in the isolation of Wild Space (The Unknown Regions), completely ignorant of the political powers (The Sith Empire, The Republic, The Hutts, etc) and happenings in the wider galaxy until the events of the expansion "Knights Of The Fallen Empire". The Knights of Zakuul also didn't know about the existence of the Jedi or the Sith and the woman Senya fights at the very end of the Eternal Throne trailer is adult Vaylin.
And I remember the first time I stepped into the Sith temple on Korriban. There was a Pureblood and wanted support to clean up the Sith line. I didn't know the story before and didn't know anything about the original Sith, but I would have taken him as Sith Master immediately... unfortunately it didn't work ;)
@@valashar5313 I thought a human jedi's average lifespan was 100 years. Humans of our age rarely live to 100, so it's not far off the mark to be able to assume a human jedi, being agumented by the force, could live past 100, providing nothing kills them first
Lifespan and generational progression aren't the same. I've known families with five living generations ranging from toddlers to great-x3 grandparents in their 90's. Listings of the relationship list her only as a descendant of Bastila and Revan, a term generally used when there is at least four generations of separation. As for the generations separating them, only Satele's mother Tasiele is given a name and basic information. Even granting the (very likely) extended lifespan of a force user, humans still generally produce between four and six generations every century.
There aren't just Sith and Jedi. The knights of the eternal empire were a lot like the gray jedi, or some similarly minded organizations. Not fully committed to the light, or the dark.
They're like the inverse of the Gray Jedi. The Gray Jedi used both sides, but leaned towards the light, the Knights used both sides but leaned towards the dark.

Most of the second trailer was changed, not just the ending. The voiceover was completely different. The original trailer they actually talked about Alderaan and it was a lot less wordy overall.
There are 2 variations for the Hope and Revenge trailers. The version most are familiar with are the ones released on the swoldtrepublic channel and elsewhere on RU-vid, while the other version, the ones seen here are the versions that were released as cinematic inside the game itself. The ones released on youtube were made with more exposition in mind for a general audience, hence the stories of Alderaan and the Sith, whereas these were made with a focus towards setting the mood of each faction as the players get ready to select them and their characters.
The game is slowly dying, but will always have a core population. The game imo is pretty good. The story is the best part of it. After the story, though you'll find yourself just waiting for the next patch to continue the story, which is pretty cool imo. Besides from the story there's still lots of fun stuff to do. Make sure you get on a high populated server and join a guild that you can participate with. Finding a good core group of people to play with is the key to longevity for this game. I think it's the only MMO worth playing besides from WoW (if that's your thing). But any hardcore StarWars fan would enjoy this game in one way or another. For me this game brought me the most excitement in PVP. Best raid experience (I think Swtor raids are on par if not better than WoW). I think this game only downfall is a horrible launch. They spent so much money into the game, they didn't (or couldn't) worry about end-game. This was slowly fixed over the years. Now I think it's at it's peak performance.
Personally i really enjoy The old republic. I know there are many who dont like it, there are a lot who do like it, but if you dont know the game, you may at least try it. Its an mmo and free at that. of course you have to scratch some nicer things if you want to keep it free but my first run to lvl 50 back then was totally fo free and it was perfectly fine. Dont like some changes they did but the game still tells nice storys around the characters. Its a total recomandation to a least try it out.

hey man, idk if you know. But in video two. The war had been going on for a few years now. That trooper, and jedi had a child before that had happen. That is why he went nuts to kill that sith. Also he is a rare race of human, that is a warrior race just like the mandalorian.
It is possible to block a lightsaber with your hands. It's a rare Force ability called Tutaminis, or "Force Absorbtion". You literally absorb external energy from blasters, Force powers or lightsabers, and use that to fuel your own Force powers. Yoda used something similar when he absorbed and reflected Dooku's lightning in Attack of the Clones.
The last Jedi had that one cinematic battle! It was greate, but still it wasn't logical at all... Rey=Mary Sue, Kylo is beliveable cause he had training.

I don't get why the current trilogy is so bad. Almost everything else Star Wars has ever done, is amazing. It's not complicated. Light sabers, space battles, one liners. That's literally all you need.
That hope trailer was off, not how it is supposed to go. It's been dubbed over - Same with the decieved trailer. That tutaminis blocking the lightsaber is not unique though. A few rare people in SW have managed to temporarily block lightsabers before(and blocking energy is canon to start with, Vader does it in episode 5).
It's not dubbed over there are just 2 versions of those 2 trailers. Same voice actors just different dialog. You get these different dialog trailers when you bought the game and chose a faction. Both versions have existed since the games release.
A better story than the Last Jedi by a long shot. A animated cinematic of this would have been better in theaters than the nonsense of the new trilogy.
The game is worth playing all 8 characters to level 50 for the story and cinematics, and knocking out the side characters's stories for their story. The Imperial agent story is especially good, the smuggler story is fun, the bounty hunter male is voiced by Steve Blum (spike speigel english dub guy from Cowboy Bebop), and the Trooper female is voice by the same actress as FemShep from Mass effect.

and yeah the ability to catch the blade of Malgus's lightsaber in her hand is a canon ability called Tutaminis. Basically lets you absorb and diffuse energy like that used in lightsabers. It also works with Force lightning as Yoda used it a few times in the movies.
Interesting thing about the combat in the cinematics is similar in the game. Jedi are every graceful, smooth motion type of movement(Channelling calmness and focus) and the Sith are just sort of reckless and brutal(Embracing rage and hate and just lashing out with everything). Combat styles were really unique and gave a lot of depth to each faction.
SWTOR is for the most part a FTP game. It does offer a subscription to access the expansions (415 a month) and some stuff is gated if you are only going for the FTP route, but otherwise you have access to a nice chunk of the game
hmmm.... the voice over for the third trailer is wrong, or it was an alternative version, that is not the way the original went. the trailer is the same, but the voiceover is different. type in "Deceived trailer" and watch it, the voice over is totaly different, better in my opinion. I know you made this video a year ago, so I assumed you have played a little of this game by now, what was your favorite class story of the ones you've tried? my personal favorite is the Imperial Agent, followed by the Bounty Hunter, Smuggler and trooper. I don't know why, but the none-force user stories are the best ones in my opinion.
Here lies the best Star Wars series ever. Or even movie but sure does feel like when you watch them in Oder wala got perfect movie ideals. Malk aka the old republic version of Darth Vader. And other hand you got grand stele with elegant double blue saber!. Fights perfection way light sabers should feel and uses of force powers. Grate music to boot.
Satele Shan the female jedi was one of the most badass jedi grand masters of all time she could give Yoda and Luke Skywalker a run for their mouny if they lived at the same time

this game predates the Disney acquisition of Starwars and is set in the expanded universe, it's actually painful to think of what they threw away when they decanonized the expanded universe. This game is all that is still being made from the original expanded universe canon.
I'm not sure if you ever checked out the game, but it's nothing like the trailers. That said, assuming the servers are still up, it's free to get started (only the end game content is behind a pay wall) so the only thing it will cost you is your time and the 25gig download for installation.
Swtor isn't that good it has some things going for it but they completely destroyed revan's viewpoints as well as character in general. It is awesome to see the Sith before the rule of two and being a Sith is so much fun because you just kill Sith Lords left and right to get power in the Sith order.
Based on this animation, i think animated movies wouldnt be a bad idea for star wars, you could have so much more action and wouldnt have to worry about actors aging/dying etc.
People need to realize the trailer with malgus attacking the Jedi temple was the ORIGINAL trailer. They changed it to the decieved trailer which is what you see now when you play the game or watch someone do a reaction. Very few people have original and its hard to find. Pisses me off they changed it
These shorts are still better than anything disney and lucasfilm have done in the sequel trilogy. I just want this era on the big screen so bad but only touched by Dave Filoni or Favreau
I don't know if you've played the game yet, since it's been a couple months and this is the first video of yours I've seen, but I recommend it. If you're a fan of Star Wars, you'll love the hell out of the class stories and probably the planet stories. Each class has it's own story up until lvl 50. All of them are good. Even the ones that aren't great, are still good if you're a SW fan. After 50, things change and the stories converge. But that's still 8 classes worth of story that is, imo, better than any of the new films. Then there are the planet stories which I would mostly rank at about the same level as a lot of the episodes from the Clone Wars tv series. Then, of course, extra side missions that I honestly can't recall much about since you can get to 50 without doing any these days. Two factions, Empire and Republic. 8 classes total, but 4 on each faction with certain classes being mirrors of each other with different animations/armor/weapons. For example, Jedi Knight and Sith Warrior play the same, have the same specializations, and use the same weapon(single or dual wielding light sabers). However, the animations are somewhat different, and the class specific storylines are different. They also get unique companion characters for their stories. I hop in to play once in a while, though it isn't what I'd call a "main MMO". I mostly just do solo stuff and play through the stories. If you've never played this game, I'd say you should do yourself a favor and do so.
one of the best star wars games ever, but it's a mediocre mmorpg. it's emphasis on the single player story meant it suffered in the multiplayer aspects.
The game came out 2014 IIRC it's spec requirements are honestly pretty low. I've been playing on and off for the last 3 years and i have a random POS Wal-Mart computer and it works well enough.
Bioware does some great story telling. The score for these is so good. This came up on my feed and I see you're still making content and with one of my fav's.... R.W.B.Y. The first trailer you watched I think came out 2nd and 3rd 1st, but I love your reaction to the light saber thrown block.... that reaction of awe, wonder and triumphant delight is what Star Wars is all about.
The Blur Studio trailers for the game (just as much of the trailer work they did for other games)were phenomenal and age incredibly well. Made me so wish for a full length SW film or series produced by them.

Have you had a look at the cinematics for Elder Scrolls Online yet Dean? If you love WoW, you may enjoy ESO, its my goto game when I want to take a break from WoW (ESO is a bit different in that it has 3 factions, rather than the 2 that WoW has). Of all the game cinematics, I think the ESO are the ones that come closest in quality to the Wow ones. How was your journey through the game? ive been playing on and off since it came out but still don't have a max level character. And I have only completed 2 class storys. But the game is so much fun. And the story telling is amazing! Better than anything in any of the movies.
