Adam has said in interviews that he doesn't know why people find him funny, trust me bud it's in your delivery. I about died when he mentioned his birthday then said , "I don't know if that means anything, like I wanted to kill her more because it was my birthday" lol, he is so naturally funny.
Reylos are basically the extremist breakouts the same way TLJ haters hijacked the fanbase and continually divided us, same radical thinking, same hypocritical views, same insufferable obsession over something so meaningless, just a different agenda
@@julianchee2894 i honestly do not like it. My main problem is that it's slow. Lightsabers do not weight, they should be faster, especially in this episode, when Rey had proper Jedi training by Leia. The other duel, the one where they destroy the pillar and Vader's mask falls to the ground is good tho
They fight slow if u compare to Episode 3 and before that. The new star wars they don't fight rapidly quick. Like there's a pause in it all, not confident in fighting.
I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side, he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying.
I don’t care too much about background music during battles because it either adds or does nothing, and if it does nothing I don’t seem to really care. Most Background music in Star Wars is good, but I find some background music in fights a bit distracting and not important, and just focus on the battle itself. I do very munch appreciate the inclusion of background music during battles, but I’m not bothered by it being very subtle or not there.
I think it's fine without it. The sound scape of the scene is great in and of itself. I do concede it may have been greatly elevated with something akin to battle of the heroes though, but it's still good the way it is.
@@killerqueen7969 In 7 he changed sides, saved Poe, led Han into the Starkiller Base, threw Phasma in the trash, saved Rey etc. But yes, in 8 his character was also unfortunately pointless
I've been saying this for years mace is the strongest Jedi ever the only one to ever beat the strongest Sith ever. They need to make a movie about mace what happened to him after he flew out the window
This fight, i'm all the jedi moment and Rey calling herself a Skywalker were the best moments in the whole trilogy and one of the best in the entire saga. I love Rey and Ben.
Their lightsaber duel was really cool and one of my favorite scene. Their last duel in force awakens was good I but I actually really like their duel in this movie better then their last duel in force awakens.
This was one of my favorite scenes of the movie- beautifully crafted with the marvelous waves in the background. It felt like art. Thank you for posting this.
I love [and remember the most] those sabre and semisabre battles: - Darth Maul vs. Obi-wan - Chirrut Îmwe all battles - Anakin vs. Obi-wan - Rey vs Kylo all!! - Darth Vader vs Obi-wan remastered - Palpatine vs. Mace Windu [+Kit Fisto wholesomness xD ] - all my duels and fights in every star wars games ! PS: Rogue One - Darth Vader Final Duel
I wasn't super crazy about it when I saw it in theatres, but I watched it again last night and it's growing on me. I like it, I'm just still wondering about what could've been if JJ and Rian had been on the same page.
I knew they will highlight this specific Lightsaber duel and it does feel like that :) I love this duel because it's the opposite of Anakin VS Obi-Wan in which I mean Lava VS Water. That I why I love Star Wars for its poetry about that kind of scenes
"Saber battle of all saber battles"?? I mean, it was alright. Saber battle of all saber battles is a tie between Anakin vs Obi Wan and the final fight in episode 1 in my opinion.
It's so heartbreaking to see all of the hard work the cast & crew put into stuff like TLJ, Game of Thrones, and TROS. All for it to be ruined by shitty writing and storytelling.
"The saber battle of all saber battles." Ahh yes, the battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan in Revenge of the Sith. I agree 😜 but all jokes aside, this battle was definitely one of my favorites of the saga!
eh, Obi Wan vs Anakin looked like a dance not a fight. atleast with Kylo and Rey, they moved in a more natural, raw way that made the fight feel more real and engaging. i personally adore the heavy, agressive, powerful swings in the sequels, a opposed to the weightless, unrealistic, overchoreographed movements in the prequels,
I love how they try to explain the scene to show it like something deeply and full with tension when really is just a little fight without any meaning supported with great visual effects and an almost good choreography
@@trinity1762 Are you serious? Kylo is pushing her to her limits ,he did not intend to hurt her. She lashes out and that's an image for the mind when people are in denial, pushing away and away, this is the anger phase. The whole movie depicts through Rey the stages of grief. She's grieving her old self and her beliefs. Denial until the desert, anger during the kefbir fight, depression on ahch-to, bargain on exegol talking to palp and acceptance when she realize ben came for her.
Okay I absolutely love the concept of just the characters and the elements around them. I think the idea is Fantastic. In execution, it wasn’t that great BUT there is a way to make it better. First, cut out the frame right before the two sabers collide so it creates more of an impact. Make the duel longer. Have the debris of the Death Star move much like in the Mustafar duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan. Use sound design to create the music! Have the waves and the Lightsabers clashing introduce the beat and sound of the music as it builds up. Then, we can have that amazing moment when Duel of the Fates, Battle of the Heroes, or an entirely new score ramps up and the duel can be grand and epic until the end. Finally, have a nice build up to the duel. The only reason they are fighting in the film is because Kylo tells Rey she can’t go back to Leia and then he destroys the wayfinder. Then Rey whines and starts to swing at Kylo. What kind of build up is that? Have Kylo reveal that she is a Palpatine there. If you want to get really drastic with it, have this be the moment that Rey realizes there is no hope in redeeming Ben. Imagine Rey pleading with Kylo but is only meant with defiance. Kylo has his back turned to Rey. Have this be the dialogue. Rey - “I feel the conflict within you, let go of your hate. Ben Solo is still alive, I saw it.” The camera focuses on Kylo as echos of the past start to creep into his mind. Him destroying Luke’s temple, the screams of his pupils, Snoke, Vader, and Palpatine pulling him further into the dark side. The cries of Ben Solo as he realizes what he has done. The screams of the new republic. Han yelling Ben’s name. The destruction. The death. The pain. It is what Luke saw all those years ago. A single tear roles down Ben’s face. His eyes shift from a dark brown to a yellow. Kylo Ren - “...It is...too late for me. I’ve been gone for years.” Rey closes her eyes and lets the tears fall. A sense of resolve comes across Rey’s face. Rey - “Then you will have to kill me.” Kylo tenses up. A moment passes. Kylo Ren - “...I know.” Kylo Ignites his lightsaber. The duel begins. It’s such an easy fix that could have made the duel so amazing, possibly up there with Anakin v Obi-wan. But I digress. The actors and crew seemed to be having a lot of fun, which is good to see. They still put a lot into this scene which was the important part. I’m glad we get to have all of this behind the scenes footage to so we can at least appreciate the work that was put into the film, even if it wasn’t what people wanted it to be. I’m often sympathetic to the cast and crew because, in the end, they were really just doing their job. And also because I wish to go into the film industry but that’s kind of irrelevant. They have a life outside of all of the writing, filming, acting, and editing, etc. This is their everyday job that they use to support themselves which is something people don’t seem to realize when critiquing these films. Nor do some of them realize how the film industry works or how the creators are held by restraints of higher companies. It’s a miracle a film is even made at all, let alone a giant blockbuster like Star Wars. However, it is disappointing when something doesn’t turn out the way you want it to, which is probably the same feeling the cast and crew had. It’s unfortunate that people can’t seem to realize that. Anyways, thank you for your time if you have gotten this far and I hope you have a great rest of your day or night. May the force be with you, always.
"the sabre battle of all sabre battles" uhmmmmmm I think that goes to Anakin vs Obi Wan, the music in this scene was underwhelming and the choreography wasn't anything special and it was hella short, but the visuals and the waves were amazing!!!
This is cool because all the water being dumped on the actors is real, they have to keep going no matter what, if they slipped or were too cold, whatever. The lava in episode 3 isn't real, most of it was just special effects and the actors worked with a green screen. John Williams didn't need to make it more interesting with music, it's already epic.
When I watched this film in the theatre, the people behind me always chuckle everytime Adam Driver gets shown in screen, I didn't get it at first but somehow I also chuckled with them throughout the rest of the film.
I really love these Sequels. They got a fresh new flavour... a new era. Hard to understand for some, but it works! STAR WARS VETERAN FAN SINCE 1981. Writer of 3 books upon S.W. Spain-Europe.
What must be understood is the fact that, as George Lucas ended the old Trilogy, was ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to continue the Saga WITH A REASONABLE SCRIPT. That's the reason for my 4th book.
They definitely did in episode 7. So the modern props can take a beating. Here in this BTS there I every little of the lightsaber on lightsaber action shown. So we can't tell. One scene they have modified props with shortened blades for a close up. The other one we only get a glimpse of and Adam only barely grazes Daisy's prop, but its only one swing so they probably did hit the savers elsewhere.
@@angeleduardofernandezsalaz7844 I'm pretty sure for the more basic dialogue was just used from other star wars films and the new lines were her daughter doing them
"The saber battle of all saber battle" Battle begins with Rey doing two horizontal slash aiming for Kylos head. Both miss by a foot, yet Kylo does a dodging motion where he bends his back in order to move his STOMACH away.
Adam’s “one of the days it was my birthday, I don’t know if that means anything” It must be so odd to remember that and be like oh yeah that’s was my 30 something birthday 😂 He’s funny just being himself
2 things destoryed this Fight for me (my opinion): 1. Its missing epic music 2. More Important.... The "i have to Look you in the eyes for 5 seconds before i can strike again"
I think it was a great idea that Rey took over the skywalker name. A lot of people got bothered by it but it was literally the best way to end the skywalker story. Both Luke and Leia were people who mentored Rey and they both genuinely cared for her
Their chemistry is everything! Dakota and Jamie Dornan in “50 Shades”, looked like they were in literal pain when they had to pair together off screen.
I think that this was the best fight in the trilogy. I think one of the reasons why Sequel trilogy fights seem so different and less mesmerizing is because of camera work decisions. Sequel duels featured a lot of cuts and zoom ins in order to make each blow seem powerful whereas in past fights in the past two trilogies it featured long takes that showcased incredible dueling form and acrobatics, which honestly goes contrary to what Lucas’s original intent was as in the original Star Wars, the hilts were supposed to be heavy and required two hands on the hilt, leading to slower fights more reminiscent of old samurai. I actually like the Sequel style of fighting, I feel like it suits better especially for a character like Darth Vader who emphasizes power and overwhelming the opponent with brute force. Pretty fun once you think of it that way! ❤
Honestly I think the setting was great but the choreography could have been a lot faster while still keeping the raw angry fighting but while still have a faster pace and the music could have been a bit better even though it's still good
It’s a pretty cool fight honestly, except for when she lands from jumping high the last time, it looks like a video game for those few seconds, otherwise, pretty neat. 6:23 in this video
