This does look good, I'm liking the new paint apps, and the figure looks very good. The price is very off puttjng, though..i just wish Hasbro would start doing more vehicles and retailing them at an affordable price. I think this is the fourth time they have used this mould, and it has become more expensive.....which isn't great for a repaint. Grrar video and review 👍
And there’s no lights or sounds electronics which used to be the standard with all vehicles going back to my childhood in the late 90’s early 2000’s and even to the 70’s when Star Wars came out and the first line of toys had them.
It's the assembly that drives the price up, apparently. Or the paint apps. Or that it's Boba Fett. Or whatever BS fans are buying at the time. Hasbro's pricing reasons seem to be a case of throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks.
@daynegodwin1401 I think Hasbro are just feeding us BS when it comes to reasons for putting the price up. I have the 2019 ESB Slave 1, which was a re-release and remould. How can the price more than double for the same mould and assembly within a couple of years? Just ridiculous in my opinion.
I agree! This, Red Five, the Tie Fighter, speeder bike, and the AT-ST should always be in the market to help being in new collectors. I have the 2020 version and I am sticking with it. The new one is nice and I am glad it is out there and available for people to get and not have to go to the secondary market.
@@johnathanjones9216 I’m pretty sure Hasbro confirmed we would be getting this figure carded at some point. It might take a while as they may have to sell through the stock of this ship first.
Great review! So impressed by the figure! I’m happy with my ESB Slave I and so passing on this new version. Will just wait for the carded version of nomad Fett to come out.
Figure looks awesome glad they did the weapons properly with the paint apps but shame they didn't use extra paint apps on the head sculpt scars would have made a huge difference!! Loving the soft goods I can never get enough soft goods. Would have loved to a small thin wire on the edge of the hood & robe like Hot Toys use on robes & capes which helps with posing. Surely it would be easy enough for Hasbro to incorporate in figures which would be cool especially to create windy effects on robes & capes!!

My Mrs went mad when my first one arrived ( especially when I have an 80’s and 90’s in the loft already ) and it does look impressive on it’s stand on my shelf but if it was £150 again it wouldn’t be so bad but new price is a hard sell , the Empire box is pure nostalgia too ! So glad I got this. The ship details in the paint apps are incredible BUT THE FIGURR…seriously wow. It’s by far now one of my top figures ever. Love this. People hating on it makes no sense other than price but - have you seen prices for everything else on earth lately? It’s not Hasbro just trying to rip people off. Literally everything on earth is more expensive than a couple years ago.

I’m stuck in a rock and a hard place on whenever I should get this version or the ESB version. Admittedly, I like the paint apps on the BOBF version more, but part of me also really wants that accessory bit of Han Solo frozen in carbonite. 😅
Bossks Bounty, your review of the 2020 Slave I convinced me to go through with picking that up. I may hold off on this Slave I, but that Boba Fett figure looks fantastic. Definitely will pick that up single carded. Great review!
Really good to see another review for this vehicle...of which there is only one other. This is a bit concerning because unlike the previous TVC Slave 1 release that has multiple video reviews, it could mean that the sales for this version is much less.
Awesome review I definitely can’t wait for this! I just fixed up a rise of boba jango fetts Slave 1 the fist of this Ships sculpts. Surprised we did not get a new one of those. We are definitely in need of other ships or a bigger better sculpt for the ship. Absolutely love the slave one and the new boba figure

That look so good, but I really wish that Hasbro would have fixed some of the original design flaws… I realize people may not play with these anymore, but I love my shadows of the empire version! Bossk doing a great job as always! But on a note: Nostalgic hostages. I say this because some are so blind they can't see they pay wat too much for a cardboard box with a nostalgic looking print on it and a plastic toy plane with a figure that all together could easaly be sold under a 100 bugs. But let's make it 250 or more and still people buying it. Wow. Just wow! HasbrNO making it again and again. Only differeces are the 900 paint apps and the price. Keep buying this please because HasbrNO shares went down 27% in the last 6 months.

I’m planning on getting the Slave 1 sometime in the near future. Because it’s at my local GameStop and it’s on sale. But I’m trying taking a months break from collecting this month. And if I wanna buy a toy this month, it’ll probably be like one or two things that’s not expensive at the moment
Great video Bossk! I was waiting for this one. Glad to see the vintage collection logo on the box. I got 2 of The Mandolorian The Rescue Set and there is no VC logo on either of them. But, still has the KENNER logo on it. Plus, for $200 U.S.D. for a Slave1The Fett figure should be carded as well as the Chewbacca that comes w/the upcoming AT-ST. IMO. Plus between BBTS & EE These will be available for awhile. BBTS just recently sold out of TESB SLAVE 1. I buy alot from BBTS because the pack your items better than any other online store. Plus if you like Transformers the have fantastic 3rd party transformers I recommend FansToys and the MDLX AND DLX. The hasbro transformers look like💩. Cheaply made including their Masterpiece line which used to be awesome. Now there just thrown together pieces of plastic. For at least $90-$300.
Sick review BB of the new and improved Slave 1, I wished my slave 1 didn't fall apart, because as i'm write this i'm reading the instruction for the 1996 SOTE slave 1 and my God it is a pain to put together, but it's fun to play with.
Im so glad I got the last TVC Slave One before it went out o production last year and it was from Hasbrp Pulse surprisingly. I really wish I'd gotten the TVC 1.0 version. I see them every year at ICCC so maybe this year and a TIE Interceptor.
BBTS is top notch , customer service 💯, bought 3rd party transformers, I opened it past the return date , it was defective and they still helped me out . Full refund; since it was past the return date , they started refunding current purchases just to put the money back on my debit. BBTS went above and beyond to make me happy 👍🏼.

We really need a BIG Slave I via HasLab or something. Every on-screen appearance of Slave I shows characters entering the ship via the ramp, but no toy to date has been able to replicate that.
Overall I'm liking this ship, but honestly I wish they would have gotten away from the action feature firing missiles in this iteration, especially considering the price. This is clearly not for kids, and I think we would have appreciated more screen accurate guns rather than the very simplistic spring-firing missiles. I always appreciated the realistic chin-gun option included with the AT-ST, but they've never done that with Slave1 for some reason, even several iterations on.
Really great review Bossk, I just ordered it after this review. Don’t have a Slave 1 and this would be great with the deluxe boba fett. Nomad boba looks good too especially with the cycler rifle and gaffi stick. Probably gonna put the carbon freeze chamber Han Solo in carbonite on the ship when it comes in, the price does suck though.
Just rewatching this video tonight, as I got one this week and put it together last night. I'm quite impressed with both the ship and the figure. I will say that applying the labels correctly was quite the challenge, especially in some of the interior hard to reach places. Thankfully there were only six, and if they were pre-applied in factory I could see that adding significantly to the labor cost. The instruction sheet could do with some improvement. Not a fan of the multi-language fine print ones they do nowadays. They are too hard to read, lacking in detail and lack any sense of fun the old Kenner ones had and too small overall. Also white on black is harder on my eyes than black on white.
Just bought ESB Slave I from Toydip for £95 but I would have passed on this anyway because of the price! Great figure though, hope it comes out on a card
There is a clone wars Jango fett Slave 1 with the same mold. I'm currently looking for another stand to have both Jango's and Boba's version of the ship on display
It could be the lighting or maybe my eyes, but would I be wrong in stating that the Book of Boba Fett version is slightly bigger. I mean very slightly, but when you had them lined up on their stands in the side profile, the new one looked ever so slightly larger. Am I mistaken?

I want this version of Slave 1, but I'll wait for it to go on clearance. I'd pay $99.99 for it, that's as low as I go, half price. Of course, if I can get it for $49.99, even better, lol. Not worth its current retail price, though, no way.

Hasbro could have chosen a different vehicle like a swoop bike because they know we already have two other slave ones if you count jango Fett from a long time ago and then make that three now we have four of the same exact ship with slightly different paint variations oh wait, I forgot this one needs to be battle damage. Why can’t they have just kept the same price and packed in battle damage six stickers and called it the empire strikes back slave, one with battle damaged stickers.

I will be passing on this as I already have the last two versions of it (and the price keeps jumping to crazy heights with each release....). I am curious, did they do a better job for the spring gimmick for the wings? My last one had to remove the spring because the wings wouldn't stay in flight mode. The wings would always be at this weird in between angle of flight and landing mode.
I got this figure off EBay on a TVC cardback but when it arrived in the post it was 6inch on TVC cardback I want that figure in the 3inch version but I'm not spending £200.00 on another slave one especially that one 1. The Name on the Box 2. The ridiculous price 3. I already have the ESB SLAVE one Where the name is concerned I'm not buying this on principle of the fact I'm not purchasing anything that's been changed due to wokeness Disney politics of the offended generation the ship will always be slave 1 to me I'll wait and hope that 3inch figure comes out on cardback soon
That Boba Fett figure is pretty top notch. Even though I enjoyed BoBF more than most, and I generally am very on board with the recent dive into his character vs keeping him this mysterious (& totally undeveloped) character, I'm happy to wait awhile for this one. I'm still pretty Boba Fetted out after all the recent releases.
Crap! This Slave 1 is just different enough for me to consider purchasing it. The Boba Fett is amazingly good! If a carded version isn't announced soon, I might have to buy the ship. It's all your fault Tim! 😁
Expensive at $199.99 but has a figure whereas the orig Slave 1 was $149.99 I can't get past the extra $50 just for one figure so a pass for me. I will wait for the single carded figure.
Honestly Disney/LucasFilm need to get over themselves the name Slave 1 is in no way offensive, insensitive or harmful. Just go back to calling the ship what it’s always been called. The soft goods on the Boba has to be some of the best soft goods we have gotten for a 3.75 figure very happy with my figure. Hasbro need to stop with the super gummy weapons though.

I would never buy this simply for the LAME name.....no Slave 1 on the box.....not in my collection. When they announced this nonsense I made sure I went out and got a nice Vintage Collection Slave 1.
