I’m forever burned with cardboard from those solo playsets. I have never regretted a Star Wars purchase as much as I did when bought that Vandor set. I never felt so ripped off with a Star Wars purchase. I put it together once with my kids, we sort of scratched our heads, put it away and never looked at it again. I do not think cardboard is appropriate at this stage of the game.
@@benjamindobalina7493 , agreed. I'm examining the possibility of making my own Mo's Eisley cantina. I have the floor plan, just need tools and material...
This is an awesome diorama set, the cardboard pieces even feel very Kenner to me, however I feel the $53 price is a bit steep considering its size and the amount of cardboard going into it….
Ive had this a good while and finally got around to opening it and wow this is so much better in hand. Wow. I love it. It looks great and the death trooper is the icing on the cake.
I agree with the others about the cardboard parts. They were being cheap to not have plastic for window and door. If it all was cardboard like the Power of the force Jabba’s palace or the cantina that would be fine.
A really good set which will make a good backdrop for a Mandalorian scene. The detail for all the wee bottles & decanters is fantastic. The cardboard door lets it down a tad. They could of done a sliding door like the Tantive IV for that section. Perfect little set for a shelf display.
As someone who’s watching this video from the Philippines I totally envy you for getting that set not to mention even getting a Death Trooper which along with Stormtroopers and Shoretroopers are very scarce in my country their either sold out or too expensive to afford at my current location.
That is exactly what I think these playsets are going for. They are essentially backdrops for dioramas with the figures. I like this one a lot, much more than the Carbon Freeze platform. I am kind of jealous that you have one already and my pre-order is not slated to arrive until April though!
I love all the drink accessories, that's so cool. This really makes me want a Mos Eisely cantina, and if the did this same format it would work perfectly, just add some booths and increase the price accordingly due to the increase use of plastic for the booths
I love that they’re going forward with these backdrops. The thing is, if this was £30, great! At £55, not so much. I’ll actually be passing on this one & I’m mad on dioramas.
I don't mind the cardboard window, but I much would've preferred a door closer to the one from the Tantive IV set that can freely slide versus only being opened or closed.
Just got this yesterday (Friday 3rd) The "Entertainer" had it last week for £65.99!!! Went in yesterday and it was down to £32.99......i got it quickly before they sold out. It's great to display my Mandalorian figure collection. Great video and review as always. Keep up the great work 👍
Cardboard window I'm fine with, especially with the flip feature from clean to damaged, but the door should 100% be plastic. The is a bit of a let down. Someone could probably 3D print a door and it would work.
Woah! Great early pick-up! 👏 Think this looks fantastic. I like the simple engineering they did on flipping the battle damaged and non-battle damaged window. As you say, a great way to display the Mandalorian figures, as well as other figures from a number of different films.
Great review Tim 👍🏻…..I have to say that after the Tantive IV, Carbon Freezing chamber and the Jabbas palace sets (which were reasonably good) this is a tad underwhelming to say the least 😫🤷🏼♂️….the Deathtrooper card is nice though…..👍🏻
I have mixed feelings. The positive is the bunch of small bar accessories. The negatives are the non-usable back side and the cardboard door which is a step back after the Tantive IV corridor's plastic door with opening mechanism.
I got the Emperor's Throne Room and Boba Fett's Slave 1 for Christmas. Slave 1 came from Hasbro and couldn't believe they had them in stock and selling them after the Disney name change! Can't wait to get this!
The one disappointment with this, in my opinion, is that the door is just printed cardboard - I would definitely have preferred a plastic door with molded-in detail (which they may have been able to re-use with another set in the future perhaps, for practical reasons).
Nice review Tim! The cardboard door is a little odd, but like you said, it's more of a diorama piece than a playset so I'm ok with is. Will look good with the Deluxe Incinerator Trooper and some other Mando figures we need in the line!
I'm a bit gutted the outside isn't moulded and detailed, it's a shame there isn't a real door instead of a static card one. I suppose I'll have to modify mine for the diorama I had planned.
Great review! I love that the hanging lamp in the center is reminiscent of the Mos Eisley cantina bar lamp that would later be repurposed to become IG-88’s head.
Thanks for the vid Tim , its a nice playset , but one critisism i have is the door , they should have used the same mechanism they used for the tantive 4 playset . Cheers 👌🏻👍🏻😉
Just got word that one of my pre-ordered Nevarro Playsets is going to ship any day now. I can't wait, and I'm excited to see what other playsets may be in the works? Imperial hallway maybe or perhaps more of Jabba's Palace? Great video Tim. Cheers Mate!
Jabba's playset was all plastic and included 2 figures. Carbon Freezing Chamber playset was all plastic and included 1 figure. Now the Nevarro Cantina playset is part cardboard and includes 1 figure. Going in the wrong direction...
Excellent pick up mate, it looks really great, glad that I have pre ordered 2 of these as I think it just need the second wall. Great review Tim. Cheers🍻👍🏻
Very nice, really looking forward to this one. Hopefully it's more readily available than the Tantive IV play set which still hasn't hit stores in my area. I am disappointed with the door, it should slide open or closed like on the Tantive IV set. Great review Tim!
Smaller than expected but think it works very well once you got it populated Tim, the incinerator trooper looks great by the door, I’d definitely be tempted by this 👍thanks for sharing mate 👍
Nice review tim! I remember death trooper wasn’t in my priority mate! Cuz I thought the vests aren’t removable lol. And yep I bought 2 carbonized mandalorian death troopers on sale 1 mint and 1 loose.
In The Mandalorian season 1 when the Death Troopers featured, there was at least one Death Trooper that does have the extra light attachment to the helmet.
Is that a Bossk with a SK8BOARD...... At least that's what it looked like (the Bossk , lower right at the beginning of the video etc.)........ 👍🛹 Nice finishing touch & or , That's spot on with the 'Cara Dune' to properly top it off!!!
I like the eco-friendly packing! The death trooper looks stunning, nice to have that one. Would be a bummer if that one was damaged. Got my shock scout trooper from Zavvi, card was warped but storage it in a star case should do the job 😉😊
Good review, but tbh, this set doesn't do much for me. Needed a wall with the sewer grate IG-11 cuts open, and the section Din rests against while injured.
Great video! Thank you! I'd love to get this, but I can't afford it, at the moment. The cardboard bits are a bit underwhelming for my taste, though; I was hoping for a sliding door and a clear window in the undamaged display option. I'm hoping it gets clearanced, at some point.
in the first star wars movie, a bat creature gets a cup from the bartender, does it have a handle on the side like a mug? if the cups are big like oversized so we can see them and have handles on the side like mugs, then the figures can hold the handle in their gun grip hand and they can hold cups in a cantina playset
becareful ordering this off amazon, all 4 i got was missing the death troopers, was told ppl are buying it and returnin it without the figure to sell and double money
how do doors open in Star Wars? like in Star Trek? or do they go up or open out like a swinging door? or to the side, so if someone wanted to make a stop motion action figure video, they would have to move the cardboard door picture which way to make it look like it was working?
Do not mind the cardboard window, but i was hoping the exterior would be decent, door not functioning is the most disappointing. I will get one, but if they had gone the extra mile i would get multiple.
should they have included a blank wall to stand opposite the window wall? so if you bought two, you could have four walls and the other half? of that archway?
There was perhaps a time where something this niche in world building would have excited me. But then again, I think of the Tantive IV and Bespin sets and I’m not really moved by those either. :/
Great Review! I was right in assuming the back of the walls are not finished. I will have to create wall backs with plastic sheeting or foam board. It's a bugger to buy things that cause you a lot of work. LOL! Also, to me, the walls are the wrong color. Nevarro is a volcanic planet. Ash grey, black, dark grey, etc. The walls should be a darker grey with lighter grey dry brushing. It's difficult to tell as there is not a lot of reference images on line. Will work something out with it. James 😁
