This new Leia definitely looks better than I expected, but I’m still very disappointed about the lack of soft goods. I don’t think it’s fair to compare the soft goods on a 20 year old figure, as they’ve improved so much over the years. Just look at the pleating on the TVC Morgan Elsbeth’s skirt.. something like that would’ve looked phenomenal on this TVC Leia and would have made it definitive (imo).

I like the pleating on the Morgan figure but for me it’s completely different to how Leias gown hangs. The comparison wasn’t just about the soft goods it was the overall figure. Head, body, arms, articulation etc. it’s good to see how far they have come.

Thanks Tim! Aside from Dooku, she was my most anticipated TVC figure of 2024. I’m expected to get two of her (one carded and one loose) and that will be enough. What is disappointing about this figure is that it’s gonna be eight years since Carrie’s passing and this may be the best version of a domestic release of her character. Much like Sir Christopher Lee before her, it seems like the TVC team is capable of honouring the cast members who unfortunately are no longer with us. If that level of respect can be put on a release featuring Sir Alec Guinness, then we’re in for a treat for a potential Old Ben figure. Not too sure about the design of the elbows when upclose but I’m sure it won’t look too bad in hand. Maybe the best work of a portrait sculpt from the OG cast and that’s great to see.

Wow she’s absolutely stunning it’s almost as if I want offload most of my figures and just have a few like this especially with this classic card, I was there in 78’ when we scrambled for the first figures and this one is pure nostalgia.. love everything about it including a better back of card , great work Tim ! X

The introduction was enough to get chills. Princess Leia Organa from A New Hope! Amazing. I think “Death Star Escape” would be a nice way to get a softgoods skirt Leia into the line on an action cardback holding the stormtrooper blaster. Once again, Tim, you’ve gotten this one before anyone else! Congrats

Candidate for figure of the year perhaps? in terms of facial sculpt, overall likeness and finally getting the mains from the OT, it ticks the boxes.

Excellent review, awesome figure. Can't wait to expose her along all the Ep IV troop. Hasbro nailed the head sculpt and, as you said, it was a very good choice to choose plastic rather than a soft dress. Two blasters, two hoods. For me is a 10 out of 10. Cheers 🍻

This is easily the best Leia so far. Excellent head sculpt and the plastic dress is far superior to the version before. I love it!

Amazon had them up, but so far Darth Vader and the Luke X-Wing pilot are the only two they give street dates for now! Excellent review and thanks for it! Leia looks great in the trash compactor diorama scene with the Stormtrooper Han, Stormtrooper Luke and Chewbacca! :)

Side-by-side and it looks like the old VOTC Leia is melting. Huge improvement and kudos to you Tim for the trash compactor shot. The Princess looks great!

Great review! So glad it’s not soft, the outfit has too much ripple effect. I hope we can eventually get a red dress Queen Amidala Theed invasion on a vintage card and updated articulation.

How figures evolve. I remember having the 'monkey face' Leia from POTF2 line. Unfortunately I sold my vintage loose figures and by the time POTF2 came out I fooled myself that these figures would be a good resplacement. How wrong was I. This is a very realistic Leia and a beautiful cardback! Very nice review, cheers mate...

I think you are right (or at least i certainly hope you are) about them doing a soft goods version later on if this one sells well (I just hope it isn't an exclusive or hard to get) and very happy they didn't make her a statue from the waste down like Metal Ceremony Leia. But I really would like one that can sit in the Falcon...

I just sometimes wonder if the hair is a shade too light compared to her hair as seen in ANH. I think in-hand observation is key, though.

Great review I'm a soft goods person as well but I agree for this figure it was the right call as soft goods dress wouldn't give us the flows in her dress as the plastic can. Hopefully they do another version for those of us who want Leia to fit into the cockpit.

Great review mate......i too was very impressed when we had her in hand on Saturday...... she really does look like a mini Carrie Fisher.......i cant wait to get my hands on her to put in my trash compactor......she really is the icing on the cake to finish it off.......heres to hoping hasbro give us ALL of the A New Hope mains sooner rather than later.......theyre certainty off to a cracking start!!! 👏👏👏👍

Maybe for a "Deluxe" version they could do what they sorta did with the legacy Slave Leia, give a different pair of legs or skirt that could be able to achive those poses which this couldnt

Really excited for this one, I've got three on preorder. Gotta imagine that a soft-goods version is in the pipeline at some point, and hopefully they put the effort into making it drape right by sewing some creases in or something, rather than just a fabic tube. Also glad that she comes with the proper ANH stormtrooper blaster, because the stormtrooper doesn't. And I'm running low on spares

Lovely review as always! It only took them 20 years to remake but well worth the wait! I just wish Hasbro made the slits on each side of her dress higher to make use of the leg articulation akin to the S.H. figure.

The thing with close ups the lens curvature can distort the image depending on the camera That head sculpt os fantastic far better than the teaser renders

The only TVC Leia with barbell style hips and she can’t even use them cuz of the hard plastic skirt…😡😡😡😡. Otherwise she looks amazing and can’t wait to get her and see future Leias with this level of articulation.

Bummer about the swivel wrists. Hasbro used to give the ladies full articulation. Ball wrists should have been possible with those voluminous sleeves.

Must say I'm disappointed by the lack of soft goods. Without a cloth skirt, I can't sit her in the Falcon, & seriously restricts her posing. Here's hoping Hasbro releases a Deluxe figure w/soft goods.

My camera always makes me look like I'm more bald on my forehead than I actually am lol. But anyways even on camera, that is the best looking Leia face sculpt I have ever seen. Even the Yavin Leia from a few years ago is a really bad face sculpt in my opinion, and it would not hurt my feelings if they updated that figure, with this face sculpt and re-released her on the updated card with the warning logo moved as well. I also ordered 4 of these, definitely getting one graded and have several displays to put her in. And might even grab another and set her aside for down the road when they spring that Death Star on us!

Leia needs to sit in the Falcon, squat to put the plans into Artoo, and lay sideways in the detention block. This Leia is not a Leia that can do those things.

I feel like soft goods WOULD work, but it would require more stitching work than Hasbro would be willing to do. I also think that's the best headsculpt they've done in the vintage scale. It's on par with the Black Series Hoth/Bespin Leia.

Long overdue and does look really nice indeed! How does it measure up scale wise to other figures (especially Vader, Luke, Han)? Without having it in hand, I'm not sure if the older one was too short or this newer one too tall.

While this figure looks absolutely terrific, I don't quite see the likeness. When you rotate the figure, there are a few angles that seem to capture Carrie very well, but I don't get it from head on.

This is why I say you need it in hand to really appreciate it. Also being mindful that it’s 3.75 and not a Hot Toy 😂😂. People said that Dooku looks nothing like Christopher Lee but I find that crazy as I think again they got it spot on.

Obviously you can tell who it’s supposed to be, but I don’t see Carrie in that sculpt at all, at any angle. Profile looked worse than head on, lol. Will have to see it in person, as Tim stated.

Its nice, but its an action figure, it should be more poseable. The skirt massively restricts motion, she cant even sit in the falcon. Ill wait for a different version. The potrait is A+ though, one of the best headsculpts we have ever had.

Why no size comparison with stormtrooper Han and Luke or Chewbacca? R2-D2? How does she look next to the latest Vader sculpt? I know it's not the ANH Vader but it's the same size right? Captain Antilles and the rebel fleet troopers? The stormtroopers? Let's not forget this is the world building line. It's important to know how she looks in the collection.

Well you saw that she is about 1mm taller than the 2004 so Im sure that gives you an idea. You also saw her in the trash compactor with Han Sol mo standing an inch or so away. Sorry to disappoint

Noticed on Sunday that the glass shelving on left of screen seem taller… Did you put a different cabinet over there, of is it just a perspective thing, bc you scooted the table forward?

So it's basically 5 poa. Very restricted, Still getting two because the face sculpt is so good. The fact that this sold out so quickly on Pulse should show Hasbro that we need more OT figures. Not Darth or R2. We have had several over the last couple of years alone. How about a new 3PO and an Old Ben.

its not really a figure i'm keen on, i like leia but i army build, she doesn't fit anywhere.. we just dont have the rebel table nor enough people to make that scene.. so i wouldn't buy pieces of it. The only question i have.. is does the HOOD UP cover the peg hole? If it doesn't then all the work of making the back of the hood and exchangable part is wasted.. since there is a big hole in her back. I'm also not myself if i dont complain.. hasbro the back plugs need to stay the same for every figure, bo-katan and Koska have different onces, i bet the armourer who's glued in also does.. lets just standardize as much as possible.
