​@@hyphil1354 Thats not a quote, "The Books" were released after TROS, never explained in the film, Darth Maul returning in the clone wars made it self evident of how he survived, he was an alien for all I knew he should be able to survive being cut in half, why not. Learning that he used his hatred via the dark side to survive was just extra pudding. If you like Palpatine being in the TROS then that's good for you.

Palpatine is one of those characters where he manipulates and pulls the strings from the shadows. But, if he's in a situation where straight up combat is required, he can totally handle that too.

@@lenseofficial his specialty is manipulation, and it seems to be what he prefers. But he absolutely is very formidable in a fight. Only the very best have any chance of holding their own against him.

@@darthahsoka3518(I know this is late but whatever). I disagree. Tarkin, especially Gideon, are way to high up in the chain of command to concern themselves with anything regarding Andor. We see that Cassian is more of a spy/infiltrator in Rogue One, and we can assume that leading up to that point, he's maintained the same level of anonymity. I can't see a Moff or Grand Moff getting involved with that. Palpatine, however, makes perfect sense. Mothma is still a senator, and she has referenced him multiple times before. I think we could possibly get an appearance similar to this one in the Bad Batch, where he comes in for a cameo to talk about a bill or a terrorist (rebel) attack, etc...
