The Post Endor New Republic had some awesome storylines. Thrawn Trilogy and a replay of Knights of the Old Republic brought me back to the fandom after Forced Awakens
they could have made so many awesome shows form post endor EU, would have been cool seeing the NR transition from mon cal ships, x and y-wings, converted speeder tanks to nebulas, e and k-wings and t2 and 4b tanks
Now THIS is the real post-OT timeline. Too many quote-unquote “historians” these days wanna insist on all the phony first order/resistance/rey vs kylo ren/“somehow palpatine returned” myths and wivestales instead of the REAL history of events. Glad to see a true historian keeping things straight here for once.
Cool to see another video on the history of the Star Wars galaxy of the EU at the end of the Galactic civil war and the start of a new era, the rise of the New Republic.
Where did you get those symbols for the warlords. Been trying to find some of those for awhile. I have a campaign during this period and would find those very handy to have.
Found this timeline yesterday and binged the whole thing looking forward to part ten also how many part do you reckon this will end up being, love the content btw definitely deserve more views and subs
Hey thanks! Part 10 is almost midway through editing. I'm estimating at least 3 more parts to this timeline project. After part 10 (which will be the conclusion to the New Republic Era), there will be the New Jedi Order Era (will hopefully be able to cram into one video), Early Legacy Era, and Late Legacy Era.
Here are some interesting topics that deserve their own video at some point: Lorn and Jax Pavan Dass Jennir Zayne Carrick or the Rogue Moon Prophecy in general Nomi Sunrider and Ulic Qel-Droma Qui-Gon Jinn
This always felt like a New Republic long campaign for the liberation of the Galaxy from the Galactic Empire rule, and give a very logical reason how the Empire shattered so quickly with so many in Imperial High Command believing that they were worthy of being the new Emperor.
I've been interested in the E.U. for a while now (since 2006), and even read a few of the books (mainly, the ultimate visual guide). However, your videos have given me much more interest in it, and have opened my eyes to just how expansive the E.U. truly is. Also, since I don't always have the time to read multiple books, your videos are also great summaries of the E.U. and are a great way to get introduced to it. Thanks for your hard work and commitment, Captain Fordo.
Your videos are always a treat. Can't wait for the next part. Just a hypothetical question: Do you imagine the sequel-era SW ever reaching this level of lore depth? If so, how long might that take? I'm not asking that to bash the "Disneywars", simply wondering if such lore momentum can even be achieved at this point, since it seems that Disney are currently in the stage of throwing ideas at the wall and seeing if any of them sticks (juggling the sequel era, the prequel-OT bridge and the High Republic era at the same time). (I do believe Peccati Syn should be pronounced PeKati - 'peccatum' meaning 'sin' in Latin - one of the many hilariously on-the-nose names that Star Wars is known for 😅 But that's just my theory, not trying to outnerd you or anything. You did a wonderful job if this is the only nitpick I can bring up.)
Quick question: Did the Imperial Remnant ever encounter the Nightsisters save for the Courtship of Princess Leia? I’m just asking for timeline purposes
Emperor Palpatine was indeed the plot of a Jedi usurpation attempt (Lets get this algorithm raging, maybe someone will make algorithm work harder if they post meme lines?)
I have a question about your EU timeline. Since we established that TCW doesn't fit in Expanded Universe AND the Lucas' Universe (aka 6 movies), what is about materials that were created after 2008 and influenced EU. I especially want to know when it will come to Fate of the Jedi time period.
All will be revealed in part 12 or 13 of this series. I already wrote a whole outline of how I would retcon FOTJ during my last re-read of the series. It helps immensely that Ahsoka isn't mentioned at all
Wow I read a few of theese as a kid and remember the characters and stories so vividly. (I unironically love Courtship of Princess Leia so the fact the events of that book are still remembered warms my heart)
The post-Empire EU stories were and are so good. I enjoy the intrigue, civil wars, and feifdoms rising up to take power in the midst of the early New Republic. So much wasted opportunities with garbage Disney who shelved these awesome stories. You wouldn't even have to make movies out of these. You could just have a series of episodes dedicated to this drama. All of it could lead up to Thrawn(the EU version who is far superior), which could be either another series or movies. The worst people own this deceased franchise. Anyway, good stuff, my friend. I enjoy your videos greatly.
I respectly disagree. for me, the post endor eu has been hit or miss for me. the thrawn trilogy and x wing series were fanastic and among some of my favorite star wars stories, the Jedi academy trilogy was alright, but then there dark empire comic series and the callista trilogy and my god, they are so awful and poorly written. but that just my opinion and your welcome to disagree with it.
Couple notes of correction on an otherwise exceptional video. 1: Delvardus was an Admiral before taking the title of Superior General as a Warlord. 2: Zsinj was a Grand Moff and had received the Honorific title of Warlord from Palpatine before using it to buff his legitimacy after going rogue, which popularized the term for other splinter state leaders. 3: Prince Admiral Krennel never claimed to have a Death Star, he in fact denied it and the 'Lab' the New Republic found in his territory was actually set up to frame him by the real Ysanne Isard as a means of exacerbating the conflict between Krennel, who was working with her clone, and the New Republic in order to maximize damage and distraction between the two while she stole the Lusankya back.
Xizer, I promise you, I will someday do a video(s) focusing on these warlords where I get all the info correct for once lol. For these overview videos, I rely heavily on the sourcebooks and intentionally simplify some plot lines in the interest of time. Also I blame the heavily abridged Anthony Heald audiobooks for my mess up with isards revenge, as I listened to it at work while I was writing this script
@@Manda-LORE trust me, I don't mean the notes as any criticism, I very much enjoy your videos and your work with the map placing the Warlords with their art is one of the best out there. I place the notes merely for additional info and clarification. I understand the frustrations with audiobooks that all too often misconstrue the original books. Your videos are among the best out there. I deeply appreciate the effort you put into each one as you are helping keep the flame of old stories alive and I am looking forward to more episodes in this series, keep up the excellent work.
I like both Legends and Canon, Canon because of Rogue One, The Mandalorian, and The Clone Wars. However, I’ll always have a soft spot for Legends content because that was what I grew up with when the Prequels were released on DVD and when The Force Unleashed was popular.
That was his treatment for episode 9 that he gave to disney and they rejected. Whether that was what he had in mind all along or off the top of his head before handing over the reigns, it's unknown. Other than the darth Maul thing, the EU did everything else on that list. Leia serves as chief of state (chancellor) 2 non consecutive times and After Luke's death, R2 gives his accounting of the saga to the whills
@@Manda-LORE i know, it was his treatment for his sequels, i didn't knew those details though, althought the whills are microscopic life forms in the sequels of George, they feed off the force, it's not a very clear concept in the statements but i think they influence how the force flows through life forms and space
