Found this Star Wars Trilogy VHS collection from 1988 in great near mint condition for $5 at local thrift shop. Return of Jedi was still sealed. Pure awesomeness
The best part of this box set is that it's the ORIGINAL OT with none of the later releases major edits to the films. These are the same movies people saw in the theater all those years ago.
Found one that was similar. Same set, but Star Wars was unsealed in great quality, Empire was completely sealed, and Jedi didn't have the wrapping, but the blue piece of tape was still intact. They aren't the best quality, even for VHS, but they are still very attractive collectors items.
I had this and there was another tape released around this time , "From Star Wars to Jedi" a making-of documentary. Your right artwork is superior to subsequent releases.
Awesome find dude. I'm filled with envy. I own the first box set you showed, but anything is better than the versions that are now sold. Imagine kids watching ep4 and seeing that horrible cartoon of Jabba the Hutt, and not knowing that originally you wouldn't have seen him till 2 movies later. And Han shot first, cause that's how he is!
Looks great! I have a question. I have this box. The cases are in good condition and the tapes are fine. I'm just worried about the Return Of The Jedi vhs tape. The tape has a "scotch" logo on it. The other ones don't. I'm sure the cases are original but does this Scoth logo indicate the tape itself is a bootleg? Or did Fox/cbs just use some Scotch tapes. Would appreciate some answers if anobody knows. Thanx!
I have the same one except my box got ruined when it was in the basement. Don't care much for the box anyway becuse it was really annoying taking it off and putting it back on.
Hi I know it’s stupid since I’m asking this because my RU-vid name says I’m George Lucas and you’d think I’d know this but i just want to make sure if the 1995 release of the Star Wars trilogy was basically the original theatrical release?
