No, It has more a THANKSGIVING paint scheme. I'd call it the TURKEY X-Wing. That's what the black and orange reminds me of... OR, pick your favorite sports teams with black and orange to name the X-wing => Miami Dolphin Wing, the Cleveland Brown X-wing, the Jets X-wing, and so on...
I am in the process of making the same ship and noticed that the engine intake upgrade you did was different to the concept art. The top engine intakes are supposed to be different to the bottom ones. Thanks for the great video that inspired me to do the same.
This might be the best repaint I've seen of this model. Somebody else did a repaint of it in the concept X-wing colors but I don't think they modified the model like you did. I like the traditional "full" X-wings instead of the "half-foils" they used for the final T-70 design. I think it looks better with the mods to be honest and frankly I never cared for black vehicles, either... The color choices here look better.
Nice work again! Your conversions and repaints generally turn out very nicely! So, if people wanted to "experiment" or "kitbash," it might be better to do this with a Revell kit? I was surprised by what you managed with the 1/29 scale X-Wing! Heck, that's bigger than the Bandai lit X-wing or the old MPC model if I remember correctly. I don't understand all the belly-aching about these Revell kits other than they're pre-painted. The difference in detail (aside from the Revell Falcons which seem to be modelled off the MPC kit half the time) isn't that much less on most Revell kits. People can always remake or customize however they want. Even the Bandai kits aren't perfect, either... I definitely like the paint job on the concept X-wing better. Who thought it was a good idea to paint an X-wing black and orange? Blech! What a hideous paint job!
Thanks! Generally Revell kits are more simplistic and less detailed. Some people think because it's a build and play kit that it's beneath them so they talk poorly about it. The new Revell kits are very well designed and the plastic they use seems far more durable then the Bandai plastic. I don't get hung up on either, I just try to have fun.
