Here's the follow-up to our first video of our family arcade (Hepburn Retro arcade). In this video, all games are working, and there are 4 titles in the arcade that weren't there before.
Wow, just wow. You literally have a slice of 80's heaven in your backyard. When you opened that door it was like a time machine. I don't think people that didn't live through the 80's would ever understand the feeling of overwhelming nostalgia this gives. Thank you for sharing.
Good lord this is amazing. I only have six cabinets in mg arcade and a home theatre but its mine. Great job. I'd love some black light carpet but that stuff is so expensive .
Ok. Seriously jealous here !!!😛 This what I want my arcade to look like, but I'm using Arcade 1Up cabs. Smaller cabs with multiple games on each means more 80's and 90's hits in a smaller space !!! Love your layout though!! Sweet place to disappear in!!!
Awesome! Haven't seen a home arcade on YT that nailed the 80's vibe like this. I would love an hour long video of it with just the blacklights and attract mode sounds.
WOW!!!! I feel like I just stepped back in time. When I was young, our shopping mall had an Aladdin's Castle arcade with carpeting very similar to yours. Love the videos playing and all the games. Great job!
Wow, I just checked out your previous arcade video for the first time in like 6 months after having seen you replied to a comment I had left on it, now just yesterday you've uploaded another video of your arcade haha(and showing a shot with blacklights only exactly like I asked haha that's nuts). I hope I can find the full in-seat Star Wars original cab myself at some point, won't be easy. For my arcade in the future, I hope to have a nice bar as well as an arcade comparable in size to yours. Looks great man. Family parties/Holidays must be awesome.
Thanks for the nice words!! Haven't done any parties in here yet(maybe I'm too worried about spills and food on the carpet), but hope to in the future!!
Did we heard him correctly? The SPACE ALPHA ARCADE used to be a BARN but was destroyed by "Kitrina Storm". Most areas were devastated by the levy structures that failed to hold back the epic flood waters. That means this will happen again and the SPACE ALPHA ARCADE will be completely underwater...smh
Sir, we really need a new video :) You was my reason to start collecting and meanwhile I have the following games with you in common Tempest Asteroids DX Food Fight Popeye Donkey Kong Pheonix Turbo There might be some missing....in any case, you was a great inspiration :)
+Hirthirt hirt Yes he is also the reason why I started collecting. I dont have much at the moment but I am buying for sure 1-2 every year from here on out. Daytona USA Twin Arcade Mrs. Pacman 3/4 Done MAME Cab I am looking to get a Robotron next.
I am out-collected my idol after like a year of collecting. I have around 65 machines including titles I never thought I will have like Asteroids Asteroids DLX Tailgunner cockpit Afterburner cockpit Hang-On Fullsize bike Q*bert Reactor Lunar Lander Tac Scan Food Fight Defender Space Ace Space Harrier Elevator Action Starcastle Black Widow Tempest Indiana Jones Berzerk Just way too much to list. I was very activ in collecting...but I run slowely out of space.
You have some great titles in that list!!! At one point years ago, my collection was over 200 machines, but at that point it became a burden with renting out warehouse space every month. I had to downsize, then give away around 15 machines when I moved out of the warehouse and into the current game room. I sure do miss my Black Widow, Major Havoc, Gravitar, Route 16, etc etc....The one problem almost everyone faces when collecting arcade games is that you never have enough space!!!!
I also started collecting arcade machines to my Stealth Corvette Arcade after watching your video 1 year ago and after that I´ve watched hundreds arcade related YT videos. I got Blasteroids, After Burner, Corvette pinball, Ms.Pacman and Sega Raly twin.
I found another Hang-On bike this month and only the red shell last month. So now I have 2,5 Hang-On bikes...I really miss one in the middle of your arcade. Its so iconical.
OMG the new Hepburn-Arcade video!!! I am a big fan Sir, you made me collecting arcade games instead of building a MAME-machine (which is still cool). When I found and downloaded your Video I was posting it in my Facebook-Group as a sticky and watched it almost everyday, now I am so exited for the new one.... !!!!! Unfortunately you dont care for your fans, you never answered my questions :(
What questions do you have, as I'd be glad to answer them. Glad to hear that my videos encouraged you to collect the games instead of doing a MAME. MAME is still great, but just doesn't have the same feel as the real games. Hopefully in the future I'll be able to post a new video. Don't forget the blog: www.starbasealphaarcade.blogspot.com. Hasn't been updated in a while as I've been busy lately, but will be updated soon as I begin to fix more of the games smaller issues!!
Ouida Hepburn Sir, I dont remember, its too long ago. About MAME, there is the one or other dedicated cabinet like Hang-On that I stil plan to MAME since Hang-On only gut 1 level with 5 stages and if I MAME it I can run aound 30 motocycle/Jetski/ATV-games on it. What do you mean the feeling is not the same....you dont mean the game itself but the cabinet, right? The Emulation works perfectly if the PC is strong enough since its a low-level emulation. Indeed it was you that encuraged me to start collecting games and I have alreday some classics. I love your arcade. The old setup did look a tad better than the new one, the Star Wars is just not good placed in front of the corridor. I think it would be awesome if you would have another environmetal cabinet like Monaco GP or Pole Position (which I really miss it in that arcade) and if they would stay free side to side (but 180° turned to one another) in the middle of the arcade. Are you planning to add also some Laserdisc-Games with the attraction-TV-Set on top like they did it back in the day?
Yes, the arcade is still very much alive!!! Since this video, I've added several more games like Satan's Hollow, Scramble, Star Castle, Black Widow, and Warp Warp. Will do a new video soon, after I add the Asteroids and Missile Command cocktails to the mix!!!!
Love it! I’m just starting my arcade. I have Cheyenne and just bought Spy Hunter. Have to grab the rare ones when I find them. Will start grabbing up the classics like PAC Man and Donkey Kong next.
Moon child!!! I love never ending story. And the arcade still looks amazing. Are you subscribed to John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech ? He has great videos as well. I look forward to more future videos. :)
do you ever have a gamer nights and let locals play games in your arcade? I live in Metairie and have not been able to enjoy the classics since they closed down the fun arcade on Veterans which I went to that as much as possible and the Chuckee Cheese on airline Hwy.
Cool you're playing the same music video I have of the NeverEnding Story. Also not to be rude, but you said it was a little movie in 1983. It was in 1984 which was a very good year for movies even though I was 2 then.
+Resident Evil Umbrella Yep, the 80's was the decade for the best music, movies, technology, etc... One of the reasons I built the arcade is to be able to step back into the 80's whenever necessary!!!
Eric Miller Carpet is from Joy Carpet in Georgia. It is similar to the what was in Luna City, but not exactly. I think it's called Space Voyager or Space Explorer, can't remember which.
Hey bub why do you do videos of repairs or fixes ? Are you just to busy to be able to do that. I am sure subs would go way up with a video of even once every 2 weeks.. Hell I keep coming back just for the tours of the game room..lol
+Digital Encom I do a ton of PCB repairs but not on video as I don't have a tripod to film with, or the time to edit those videos if I did video them. If I had the time I would like to do repair videos, to teach others from what I've learned over the past 25 years of collecting. It's hard enough just trying to get you guys a follow up video. I do plan on a follow up sometime in the future. Not much has changed, but I have added a few, like Mario Bros., Super Pac, Star Castle, and Omega Race.
Ouida Hepburn Heck yea bub, hell your the reason I started collecting. I been trying to find that carpet for my game room but having no luck at all :( I have about a 700 sq ft. Game room and I plan on doing alot too it. I added a Theater as well too it for now. I imagine by the time I have the Arcades I want I will have to get rid of theater part. My kids seem to enjoy the Driving game and MAME machine the most. My floors are the laminate hardwood is what I would call it.. But I plan on pulling it up and changing it into the same carpart as you as soon as I find it.
+Ouida Hepburn I am also on KLOV, having some issues with my Right side Daytona USA playing blind. I was told to buy a High Voltage Probe to discharge the monitor but heck there like 100+ bucks thats money I could use towards another arcade..lol Repair videos would be great to learn from. Heck thats what I need the most myself right now. Still new, but I am going to Cap my Ms. Pacman as soon as I am able to discharge the monitor..lol I seen where you can make one with a Screw driver and and alligator clips but I am not too sure I would do it right and blow my stuff up..lol
+Hirthirt hirt Not much has changed in the past year, as I've been busy at work lately. All but one game is working now, so some progress is being made.
