I was searching through some forms on the Starbound ships, and in one of the conversation, someone spoke of changing your starter ship into a different race's ship. (Exp: Floran = Floran ship, Human = Human ship, etc.) Here is a link for an example of the swap. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=744851755 *[I should warn you that if you want to do this it WILL reset your ship and all the items in it. So you should test this with a new characters.]* *Follow these instruction if you already have ANY characters so they don't get affected* 1.Go to your steam library 2.Right click Starbound 3.Properties 4.Local files 5.Then click "Browse local files" 6.Find the file labeled "Storage" 7.Go into the "player" file 8.Create a new folder on your desktop and copy paste everything in the "player" file into the new folder. 9.Once you have made a copy of all your character/shipworlds, Then you can delete all the files in the "players" file. *(IMPORTANT NOTE: You will not see those characters in the the new file, If you want to see them again then repeat steps 1-7 and drag the character/shipworld files back, Also all the other stuff you see that might be labled "bak1,bak2,etc" are also important so don't lose em)* ~To achieve this, you should: 1.Start on the Starbound main screen 2.Create two characters (Pick two different race) 3.Do or skip tutorial 4.Then quit out of starbound. 5.Go to your steam library 6.Right click Starbound 7.Properties 8.Local files 9.Then click "Browse local files" 10.Find the file labeled "Storage" 11.Go into the "player" file 12.You should see at least two "character files" and two "Shipworld files", To know which character* is which: open one of them in Note pad and do [CTRL + F] type in one of the name of the characters you created. If you do not see it, then it is the other one. 13.Now this is hard to explain: Both of your character's files will have some randomly generated name Exp: (0dd74133244e234d9089b9ec7758cfac Yours should be different but a similar length) I will call this the "File tag." 14. Copy this long "file tag" from the "Shipworld file" and paste both onto a blank note pad or somewhere where you can refer back to it. 15. Swap the "File tag" of the "Shipworld files" and launch starbound. 16. If everything works out, you should have a different race ship and also the ship pet corresponding to that race's ship. If you get lost or confused on any of this just reply to this comment. This is on a different note but if you have s ship over Tier 1, then you need a couple more steps to make that work, If anyone cares enough to want to know I can type out the rest of the instructions.
tip: you can use gauntlets to negate fall damage; just use them in mid air and it resets your downwards momentum. You need 2 gauntlets though because you need to be able to use the uppercut finisher.
About moon colony - if you don't want to worry about meteors, you can also use brain blocks, found in the centre of The Ruin. The only thing you need is a few people to mine it, because a single person with fully upgraded MM takes over 2 minutes to break. It's the only block that can be used as meteor-proof wall, as far as I know. It's also the hardest block in the game.

I was looking at the fuel/fluid dupe and found a way to make it faster.If you use many small dupe tanks that drain into a main collection tank you can multiply the speed equal to the number of dupe tanks you build. the speed of the fluid duping is limited to the rate that water and target can mix so the obvious solution is to make the smallest possible dupe tank, multiply it as many times as possible and pipe its overflow into a collection tank. dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19143385/StarboundFuleDupe.png the 2nd Generation is on the right, more compact and same reliability. simple logic controls the dupe pool draining without it overflowing or draining too fast. If you don't drain the dupe pools from the bottom you only get water.
I just bought this game a few days ago, and Im loving it. When I watch pro players do things, I get very impressive and surprised with all the potencials that the game has! Is amazing so many things u can do using ure imagination. Is incredible! Each pro players has nice ideas!
That's a nice poptop setup. I'd been wanting a way to farm those mother poptops since I know they can produce infinite offspring, but didn't really think about trapping them and using blocks to separate out the children
If you are doing the moon thing: dig to the bottom. No caves, easy to break blocks, no erchius, and you are 100% protected from meteors. Expantion is super easy as well. Also, moons are lvl 6, which is still ok early on, but not so great for later.
Back in the days I built a poptop farm merely to get the action figure lol (it did work) Also, the quicker way to fill the fuel duping would be to use more floodgates.
Another tip/trick is to make a liquid erchius farm. I did make a video on that if you would like to check it out. They did chance the price of it from 2 to 1, but still a good way to fuel your ship and to make money.
If you have the Frackin Universe mod you can try to find a strange sea of beer... then you set up pumps to pull the ocean into a storage area, route the storage into extractors and have anouther routing system take the outputs and drop all the pixels u extracted into a storage device.... now literally what you do is afk, come back like 30 mins later you should have around 20k - 30k pixels... this is all theoretical right now, I almost pulled this off, but there was a bug with the beer and it was picked up as liquified crystal their fixing it this week so.... i'll let u guys know if it'll work (if any of you are interested, since it does require non-vanilla starbound).
poptop farm is more efficient if you take them to high level planets and let the baby poptops fall into lava. Not sure if it would be possible to afk farm but in theory you could cramp several poptops into a very small space.
This one is Mother Poptop,specific boss on lush planets. They different,then Adult Poptop. They can spawn poptops and has 500 hp, Adult ones can't spawn poptops and also got only 180 hp Also,when you capture Mother she transphorm in to Adult Poptop and losing all her abilities.
Nope it is based on sols. Those planets appear to be always night but they are not. If you look at them on your nav screen they have sols just like other planets.
You can capture Mother Poptops from other dungeons and put them into the farm a with 2 turrets instead of 1. about 5000 pixels in 15 minutes with 3 Mother Poptops.
+Itz Atomic! After I captured one it stopped spawning baby poptops. I think your suggestion has been patched out. Can you verify this still works in 1.1?
Yup it appears they fixed it in today's patch. playstarbound.com/starbound-1-1-changelog/ I'll see if this is still a thing on moons you have already been to or not.
Awesome if you find it out get back to me if you can. Also its cool to think that theres a chance the devs are watching your channel, because that may be how they found out
You would think it would level off but starbound fluids don't work that way. They have pressure until they fill a whole area and are level. Because I have this below sea level and a hole in the background it can never find that equilibrium, so it drips. The same would go if I had a tank of water above it. Hope that helped.
Cool vid. I am trying to make the fuel tank in my game (well several, one for fuel, one for lava and one for poison) but can you tell me what the small gate that lets the water in is called? I can't seem to find anything like it on any of my crafting stations. Also what is the logic panel that the sensors are wired to?
+spongthe1st it's in the crafting station that crafts all the furniture and stuff it's with the doors all the way at the bottom. Pretty sure it's just called a gate lol.
Thanks! Yeah I found it actually it is just the gate lol. I also figured out which logic panel it is: a "NOT" panel. One other thing I noticed, I expected the drain system would drain the liquid into the tank below but in my game the liquid just gets vented into...well I dunno where, the ether, the ocean? who knows. Is that how it is with yours too?
well they have a day cycle, as in you still harvest from from them but it was inconsistent, sometimes it took 11min, then others 15, and then 9. i found the best was to have it on your ship, 12min every time, and didnt matter what sol the planet you were above was
