A pullback will always look nasty cause the defenders momentum has been delivered making a p.b more conventional 2 collect some bones.A c.o creates momentum in the defender,he over anticipates your movement/over respones to your head/shoulders and basically flys where he thought you'd be.Best way to c.o, do it in space when your defenders hand either cant reach the ball or you can throw it under easily.Science of hoops!BALL IN!!
your awsome, i dont blame you for wanting the most money you can get. Congrats . we have met before but you probably dont remember. i have met Nate Robinson like 7 times and he never remembers me tell him i go to the knicks basketball camp in the Hamptons you rock
a good way to cross over is to watch ur opponents feet. if you move fast to the left, and ur opponent crosses his legs instead of shuffling them, cut back to the right.
Mahmoud Abdul Rauf had the best crossover I ever saw & I have watched them all, only other person that may have had a better one was the late Globtrotter Great Marquis Haynes.
I did hear that they didn't want Nash to play in all the regular season games since he is getting up in age and they want to keep him fresh for the playoffs. I didn't know about Marbury as an option though.
Dont confuse a crossover with a pullback. People say I have a decent c.o but I dont,I have a good pullback.Once you take a step in a direction and then crossover, unless u completely open up your opponent and totally change his angle to the ball, its a pullback cause you end up back where you started expect theres no 1 infront of u.A.I has a nasty pullback and a good c.o. Starbury is just quick in transition and off/engaging picks...thats about it.
@VicInNocal I had great coaching playing CYO and then HS moved up to the old school Oakland SF; CAL = "Catholic Athletic League" we played all the Oakland, SF , Berkeley , Richmond ect schools and won most games . We were taught to guard the mid section of the guy's body , where ever that goes that's where he's going. If you guard the ball you're going to get faked out of your shoes. Of course there were men that were just plain quicker and faster jump higher. We were them too.
@jason60152 : they banned it because he was carrying the ball - he was just so quick with it that they always had to review the tape which slowed the game down, so instead of always having to review it the league said fuck it just ban it.
@goodtrick you want to make your opponent lean in one direction so once you cross over to the other side and take off dribbling, he will either trip over himself trying to get back to you, or just fuck it and let you go by.
Speed is probably the easiest way to get a crossover, you have to learn to change speed and direction within an instant to catch your opponent off guard.
You want to learn how to play effectively? Watch the Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant training videos. I saw Dr. J video on VHS like 12 years old that helped too. This clip is more about Starbury trying to be cool, and listen to himself talk.
wow man, read your first comment:you wrote that he should get a job, so you meant that he doesn't have one....But he does, and he gets paid for it!That's a job...
well i guess it depends on your definition of star. but i would say if ur one of the most recongizable players in the game then your a star. i recognize oden hasn't proved himself to be an all star yet but remember bron was a star before he even stepped foot on an nba court. needless to say he has proved himself to be one of the great players in the league today.
well first you wanna catch your defender with quick steps (just going by them) or in-and-outs (fakin a cross and going) if your fast enough to go by em theyll start cheating to cut that off then boom hit em wit a cross. also u have to sell the cross like ur really going that direction. a good way to do that is to make sure ur eyes are not on the ball and look in the direction your faking and position ur free hand like ur gonna go by. defenders cheat by watchin ur eyes hope that helps.
marbury hasnt done anything on an nba level to impress people ina long time. that doesnt mean he isnt nasty though. the knicks jus blow ass. search GET EM BRUCE and GILLETTE NEXT PHENOM that kid is insanely talented.
@bhouri Yup. I learned by watching over and over how AI crossed up Jordan in his rookie year. Also, the left-to-right crossover is more effective in my experience because the right-to-left is too common and defenders are too ready for it.
hell yeah i would consider Glen Rice a star. Why would you answer your own question???He was a beast in his prime. he also won a all star game mvp i believe. It really depends on what your definition of "Star" is.Don't confuse a star with a legend. i wouldn't say marbury is a legend, but definitely a star. Now Chris Gatling i wouldn't consider a star and he's been to a all star team.oh and glen rice had 6 or 7 season averaging over 20 points. Thats a Star.
Not enough teaching. 1) Do a head/ shoulder/ feet/ hand fake from the opposite side you want to go, as the same time.. 2) Your back foot has to be well fixed on the ground. 3) Your back leg should be leaning down. Once the defender falls to that, you do what Steph told you. Hope I helped.
Matt Barnes was a decent 3-point shooter/ Small Forward for the Warriors last year, they didn't like him, and I beleive he got shipped off to Phoenix. He has no relation to Stephon Marbury other than the fact that they have many tatoos. Why Matt Barnes was brought up, I really don't know.
@Quackelbin Hey man, if you say someone's mother is douchy, all you're really saying is she has a clean vagina. So basically you're giving them a compliment, yo.
Stop going by just what the media tells you? Agent zero is also painted out to be an asshole but the media neva talks about the good things these guys do like all their charity work. The stephon marbury classic, his annual bowling tourney in brooklyn, Ron artest's secret santa and turkey drive in queensbridge projects in queens. im done. i wouldnt play for the knicks either after my coach told me some shit like that.
@CatBringer I'd say Vince has been considerably more successful than Marbury. Also, Vince has his flaws but he has never been self-destructive like Marbury.
