This video demonstrates how to beat Cutthroat on Brutal mode without using advanced (air) units. Simply make a small Marine/Medic/Marauder ball early in the game and use it to kill Orlan's harvesting operations, starting in the north then heading to the southern bases. Additionally, create a second Marine/Marauder/Medic ball to defend your bases.
Get upgrades and keeping building up the size of your main ball. Take out all 3 of Orlan's bases before he gets around 4500 minerals and the introduction part is easy. After that you can make out your Marine/Medic/Marauder ball and go in on the main base.
