At 26:16, you can see Jim put on not only his visor but also his blast-proof visor is well. He knew Kerrigan was going to wreak some havoc and he didn't want to get killed with Mensk lol
The part where she walks into Raynor's cell and stands there with that music, it gave me chills when I first saw it and still does today. Blizzards cinematics team have always been gods among men.
One of the greatest ending of game saga that hits me hard. I loved starcraft since elementary and this sequel gave me decades of worthy waiting. Love it.
Funny, when this came out, I said they don't make games like Starcraft 1 anymore. The story there was much more comic book style and fulfilling. Starcraft 2 was just crafted drama.
@@Icetea-2000 Couldn't agree more, frankly I wish Blizzard would just perma-kill off Kerrigan as highly unlikely as that would be to occur. Heck I wouldn't entirely mind if the Zerg became extinct as a race too, perhaps to be replaced with something vastly worse and potentially bio-mechanical in nature.
@@DeltaTenNZ I think that was the problem of the PvP of SC2 coming first and the campaign coming second. Yes, yes, sc2 was THE esport game in the first half of the 2010s but that evidently didn’t last long. Not to say that the competitive scene is dead, far from it, but maybe they could’ve been more successful by focusing on the story, the setting, the campaign, the overall flavor and fun first, and then the PvP, just how Sc1 did it. Because there was no way they would ever going to kill off one of their factions, because of pvp. Which is the same reason why the warcraft universe is so boring to me nowadays. You know what’s going to happen, they won’t make truly drastic changes. The zerg could’ve been destroyed in one of the campaigns, and we even had a more threatening enemy presented, the Hybrids, a mix of protoss and zerg. That would’ve been a great replacement and a more terrifying enemy than the zerg
End of Wings of Liberty, they turned Kerrigan into a damsel in distress and Raynor was her literal knight n shining armour coming to save her from herself. Not at all the story that I wanted for Kerrigan.
I never played SC2. Story seems cool. Kerrigan seems like when she was re-infested that she retained a lot of the humanity that had returned to her. The old infested Kerrigan had only enough humanity to not kill Raynor when she had the chance.
If you haven't yet, it's probably worth watching a few of the campaign maps - particularly the Zerus missions where she was re-infested - and they get into a bit of the why. TLDW: the swarm was subtly under Amon's control so when she was initially infested, so was she.
I may not understand something, maybe this is the American mentality. 3 Terran planets were slaughtered along with the civilian population. If it's okay, I kind of sympathize with you. Although you have the best judicial system. But the genocide that Kerrigan staged in the heart of the swarm cannot be forgiven. If Kerrigan died at the end of the Legacy of the Void, it would be fair. For the crimes that she committed.
@@user-fg7rr5oe4c The thing is that it wasn´t her, since she was mindcontrolled. She remembers what she has done, but at that point was influenced so strongly that you cant really blame her for what Amon did through her.
@@user-fg7rr5oe4c Her first infestation was done under Amon, the main antagonist of SC2 - She was influenced by him and seems to have lost her real free will, or was changed to be aligned with him, either way her infestation changed her. Original infested Kerrigan's actions you can say were responsible to the zerg that was cleansed of her, and not the human inside. Her second infestation was done by herself to primal (Pre-Amon) zerg, and she retained all free will, the same as when she is human at the end of WoL/Start of HotS. Her campaign in HotS is purely for revenge and is unjustifiable, as she was in full control.
@@JohnsonTheSecond First infestation is done by Overmind to save zerg race from Amon control. (The Overmind's way of swarm control is strictly preprogrammed by Amon) So after swarm get Queen of Blades to rule, he is able to commite suicide thru direction of protoss templars on himself to prevent he's reincarnation, and free zergs from Amon will.
Be honest. Starcraft storyline is way better then any Science fiction drama or movies. Too bad no one built this kind of game anymore. I miss Diablo and Starcraft. I grew my childhood with it. I still enjoy playing it. My only hope to see the continues of This both epic game in near future
Oh the sweet sorrow of memories, when studios had their heart, not their greed, into making magic, bleeding and sweating their own dreams into their work, their creations, and setting a bar that since we keep dropping down away from.
That specific zerg that went aboard on jims ship with kerrigan after hearing the excution announcement they that zergling looked at her saying we need the queen of blades to return again and will help you have your revenge
now that I think about it, If nova didn't capture Raynor or Mengsk Didn't announce his false execution, He wouldn't have Pushed Kerrigan to the deep end and choose to become Zerg again. Good Job Mengsk if you hadn't angered the former Queen Bitch of the universe for falsifying her Boyfriend's death and making said Queen Bitch take up the mantle again, we wouldn't have had a SC2 HotS Good Job
did you see that O_O the dominion had a specter with them, guess the rumors were true, the dominion still use specters, also this proves even more that nova lied to you and you should belive tosh (no offence to any one who pick nova)
+Josef Persson I think it's only a suit. You know, we see Spectres in this suit as a unit just so we could tell the difference between them and ghosts. I think Ghosts use those types of suits too.
I mean if u had hanson she tell there no evidence that, spectre are pyschopath and massive killing spree, nova just lie to u but then again I don't have a problem with people going nova as tosh spectre are, in my opinion, not good as ghosts
damn never played this game but wanted to watch other blizzard cutscene after the insane diablo 4 one and now im seeing comments from 7 years ago. How did the time fly by so fast...
I really gotta play the StarCraft 2 campaign… I can’t believe all these years later I still never played the campaign for some reason. I was super into the story line in the first one, I think I cried at the end 😂( I was like 10)
Kerrigan, Raynor, Artanis, Mengsk, Tychus, Horner, Zerathul, Tassadar, Stukov...many many of others reeealy amazing characters. Blizz made a hell good story, I wish I watch in full length film.
There will never be a book or movie or game in history that comes close to the Romance and epic story of Jim and Sarah's story in Star Craft 1 and 2. NEVER EVER will there be any thing like it.
guy wants to pork a psychic female badass said female turned into a monster with a great ass guy wants to still pork the zerg female badASS guy gave up and regretted for many years and held a grudge on his former boss guy got a chance to once again pork that zeg ASS guy succeeded in turning that zerg ass into a bit of human ass guy got "killed" before he could tap her ass zerg female badass with a great ass saves guy for the D guy got upset because that ass became zerg again then realized she still has a great ass so they made up guy and girl's first date was to kill their former boss zerg femal badass with a great ass became a giant glowing omnipotent badass with a great ass the guy and girl porked and made planets bloom greenery . . . yup, your right, there will never be anything like their romance
@@Daymjo I'm just a casual gamer, I haven't played Startcraft, and I saw this video because it appeared as a recommendation on RU-vid, but the story and its main characters seemed very interesting to me, also, most of the stories have a common base, there is nothing really new or that has not been told before.
@@SlowDIIV I meant more like the story becomes repetitive in and of itself. Kerrigan has to sacrifice herself. Jim tries to stop her. He fails. She dies. Turns out she wasn't dead. She's zerg. Jim saves her. Turns her human again. Then she has to sacrifice herself again. Turns zerg again. Jim saves her. Then she has to turn PRIMAL zerg. Jim tries to save her. zzz It was interesting the first time, in starcraft 1. By the time you're watching this video, she's already sacrificed herself and turned zerg three times. Gets old.
I love the story they told, maybe not for Starcraft as a whole but still, this is a fantastic romantic drama omg!! still pulls my heartstrings in the right ways to this day
This is the first that I’ve dived into the story of Starcraft, so some of the details are a bit loose for me, was she suppose to be the hero or Gillian of the game? And would someone be kind enough to share a brief understanding of what’s going on in this realm? How was she “betrayed” and what was her plan by joining the Zerg?
The history of starcraft is very complete and last on 5 game edition, each expansions continuing the story. A really good story for a RTS game ,I can only recommend you to dive further in it. Long story short to answer your question : Jim Raynor and Sarah Kerrigan used to fight for Arcturus Mensk (the leader of the terrans=humans who is killed at the end), against the tyranic power at the time, and they helped him to take control of the terran empire. But they started to realize that he was in fact worst than the tyrany they were fighting, and thus,Mensk decided ti get rid of them by sending Kerrigan to a suicide mission and abandonned her to die when she finished it (the treason). This led Jim Raynor to leave Mensk' army and to swear to kill Mensk one day. Althought the zerg did not killed Kerrigan but rather transfomed her into their new leader : the queen of blade, because of her very powerful psychic powers. She remembered everything of her former life but acted and thought in a totaly different way and killed her former allies with no hesitation, except for Jim Raynor, her lover, whom she let him live when she had the opportunity of killing him. He then promised then that one day he will kill the queen of blade to stop the slaughter. But one day, Mensk' s son, Valerian, who did not approve of his father, allied with Jim Raynor and they succeded to return her in her human form. Althought, she still kept abilities to control others zergs. This is where Heart of the Swarm begin. As you could see, Kerrigan was full of hate for Mensk and wanted revenge, still influence by her zerg side, but her love for Jim Raynor was keeping her in the "good" path. By killing Raynor, Mensk killed what was human in Kerrigan and then she decided to become the queen of blade again and used the full power of the zergs to kill Mensk. This is a very short summary, there is way more to it, and I can only advice you to dive further into starcraft lore :) And to the question is Kerrigan good or evil, she has been good and evil depending on the time (before, during, and after her transformation into zerg). During Heart of th Swarm, even if she is generaly mercyless toward her ennemies and the one who stand in her ways, she shows at several occasion mercy (like when she spare the soldiers in the cinematic, and aggreed to spare the civilians during the final battle). Hope this help you :)
@Sirazid, It answered a lot of questions I had, thx for the help, although that looked like a lot of typing so I apologize for that. I wasn’t expecting that much details but I’ll take some time to dive further now since I’m now very intrigued, thx again for the help
Ce qui me fait marrer c'est que le jeu ce sont juste des unités sur une carte alors que tu as toute une cinématique vidéo superbe, à leur place j'aurais fait un fim :)
15:02 sorry i havent played the game yet for now i only bought the remastered SC1 but whos the general she killed at 15:02 ? i mean he's a terran dominion general under mengsk right?
Wouldn't be amazing to see a Starcraft triology in big screen? It's like LOTR but in space. Focusing each race in each chapter. -The Beginning, Raynor of Terrans -The Betrayal, Kerrigan of Zergs -The Final Showdown, Zeratul of Protoss And introducing some side characters: Mengsk, Artanis, Overmind, Tassadar, Nova... I'm ok if it's going to be full animated but should be R.
No offense to Tychus. But Raynor stood up after getting thrown down like that in a power suit. o_o Then again, guy was drunk when Raynor shocked him. XD
As with starcraft, I am so addicted that I Sarah Karrigan as the goddess of love in my need to the circumstances of sad circumstances as the 80s songs had already saved me light as a force for life and not as a victim! So I became something and first had to find out who it is, but it's just me and I love the youth and so much because the disappointment of the adults who should have helped didn't understand a word because the time flew by and we are now someone else Society.
8:30 Kerrigan experiencing PTSD after getting left behind by the last Mengsk. Now her boyfriend, her only reason of living was left behind by this Mengsk. Honestly I wish she had more self control, but can't expect it after all she been through even before she was infested, as her last thoughts were of anger and hatred for Mengsk. Mengsk who rescued her from the Confederacy only to betray her to the zerg.
They should come out with a Netflix series in the StarCraft universe, maybe a whole bunch of them if they end up doing good. I would binge watch that shit til I die LOL. Maybe the series could start off pre SC1 focused on the terrans, and their history of how they went from our modern times to becoming the confederacy. Of course wed eventually want to see how all of the factions stories brought them to the start of the first conflict. I would love to see them focus on the internal conflicts and power struggles of each faction because those are so important to the storyline obviously. I think that for people who aren’t familiar with the franchise or aren’t fans of star craft would still enjoy the storyline if they were given a chance to get to know the characters like Jim raynor and Sarah Kerrigan, and see how the story of the rise of evil and power struggles of the greedy and power hungry terrans is a relatable story to real life human history and current events. And once they see one of their favourite characters get captured by the Zerg and turned into a Zerg… BAM season 2 and they’re already hooked 😂. Come on Netflix 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 I think an anime version would do well too for those who watch anime shows. I don’t but if it was StarCraft I definitely would. I think the actor that plays 11’s dad on stranger things would play a good Jim raynor.
@Azrael Cinder With Blizzard being a company, it seeks to maximize profit. Allowing its workers to dabble around with its franchises, lengthening the time it takes to complete new games, driving up costs and risking putting out products that isn't more of the same does not make sense economically. Also, China operates under state capitalism :)
I'm not sure if Jim held off on shooting Mengsk because he didn't want to deny Kerri her revenge or if he felt a bullet to the head would be letting him off too easy.
This is what happen if writer have most hollywood mindset also have rule of cool airhead that hard to represent the armor durability john wick 3 and extraction only movie that armor will save you.
