Thanks for posting this. For me and my late wife, this was our favorite place in Las Vegas; a place where we could act like a couple of silly love-struck kids and forget about the rest of world for a while. The implosion of this place was a tough sight to behold. I will always miss it. Well done video and music, BTW.
My first time to Las Vegas in July 2006, stardust is the first hotel I stayed...very sad to see is all gone now, it will forever be in my memory..... 😖
Outstanding job! A fine tribute that still brings a tear to my eye. I'm sitting at my Stardust sports book bench, with my 'Dust ashtrays, sitting on top of some 'Dust carpet, playing this back and thinking of what was the best book in Las Vegas. 25 years, I loved that book and have a distinct honor of 'owning' a 5-team Ultimate Challange card hit. Your Tribute did the place proud! Thank you!!!
This is a great tribute to the Stardust! We'll miss this classic place. We stayed there only once, but went in often. The Boardwalk, Stardust, Marina, and so many others... ALL GONE! Sad!
What a beautiful tribute!!! Stardust goes very DEEP and INTIMATE into my history!!! From my grandparents, to the Greatful Dead concert parking lot camping experience, to slot tournaments, to the shows. I feel like I've lost a family member. Thanks for this!
This is still my favorite video on You Tube. So sad, but so many memories. It's 13 years later, and they still haven't opened anything on that site yet, although they are close. Who knows after COVID-19 if that will even happen.
great job on this video. Im with you all on missing old vegas, in 8 years that i have been around it i have seen the out with the old and in with the new.. Now to the we dont have the money ...
I watched this from across the street. There was so much dust afterwards that it seemed like a war zone. People running everywhere. We ran into the Frontier and hit a jackpot on one of the slot machines!!!! Within a matter of an hour you wouldn't have known anything happened. All the casinos were cleaned so fast! Ill never forget that night!!!
Man, Stardust and Frontier were one of my favorite hotels I've seen :( Stardust was imploded and replaced by Echelon and it's not completed, and Frontier was imploded too and replaced by nothing but dirt there. If I have the money, I would rise back Stardust and Frontier from the dead bringing them back to life. I love the good old days of those hotels.
Pls give me the old Vegas back I can crying and get angry for the new shit mega resort like LINQ or Planet Hollywood.... I miss Sands, Stardust, Frontier and Dunes
The last of old Vegas :( Unfortunately what the city fails to realise is that old Vegas history is a tourist draw. Movies like "Casino" make people want to come and get a feel for what the town used to be. I'm fortunate that I got to visit while the Stardust was still standing, I even caught a Wayne Newton show for laughs :) Such a shame that it's all gone now. It just doesn't feel the same.
An excellent tribute but it made me feel very sad, like most of the postings on this I too felt it should never have been demolished! Every city needs some history and 48 years is not old for a hotel :-( I will always remember the few nights i had in this hotel, memories that will stay with me forever!
though i live in australia my parents were talking of going to vegas last year then we didnt my dream was to c the stardust cause she was a legend in the making cya stardust
Shows how important context is. The song "Dust in the Wind" can sound really sappy and trite, but in this video it works. Made me fees a bit sad about the disappearance of a casino. Weird.
Sucks even more now that the company that closed and imploded it didn't even finish the replacement hotel and casino before giving up and selling the property.
They lost a lot of profits in the last 7 years by not having a strip hotel. Even the casino owners gamble in Vegas, and they lost big time on this one.
Even Steve Wynn said, "Wow, how could you lose a killer named casino like Stardust??" Yup, to be Echelon? Or Resorts World? Dang even Sahara changed their name back. Bye Stardust.
@Bartels92 Echelon will never be completed. Don't kid yourself, layoffs keep coming in vegas. They have excess capacity that business could triple and existing casinos and hotels could accommodate more.
i feel so bad that i missed that place since i ever heard about this place i wanted to go my whole life tell i found out this happend yea those people she die
Excellant job!! Perfect music, great before & after too. (I didn't realize it was gutted so much before the fall.) Too bad they didn't light it better for the explosion. (Not your fault.) Again - great job!!
I heard that Riviera closed on May 4th, and it's gonna be imploded too, but I don't know when will it implode. If they're gonna implode down Riviera, they should put in a fireworks show, fireworks on the building's wall, a countdown, then boom. Just like the Stardust and Frontier.
This is an awesome video! Made me very sad. Why didn't they just rebuild the Stardust. Could have capitalized on the history of Old Vegas. Now they have a big empty crater with construction cranes. Boyd should be ashamed of themselves.
AWESOME job! Song choice perfect! Another example of turning things into MICKEY MOUSE CORPERATION LAND. EMPLODE it and build some condos or something. Frick. Makes me want to throw up! Going there in a couple of weeks and never will again.
Well hopefully i Can Make Your Old Memories Come Back if i can get an degree in architecture and make a 8,000 Room Hotel And Bring This Sign Back Up and our Memories Are Back With a Smart Man Like ME! and ill maybe tear down Mirage, Treasure Island And The STUPID FASHION SHOW MALL To Bring my Success To Life and everyone's Dreams Are Positive Give Me Luck Fellas !
