Regarding the Purple Nirnroots, they're a double reference. They're referencing Glowleaf/Experiment NRT-0001, which is a purple colored Nirnroot Easter Egg in Fallout 4.
Alright, after days of trying to find GLB-222 Supremacy, I’m starting to give up. It seems like making it a lootable unique location is exactly the type of thing Bethesda would do. If they did, the pay out would be 1,160,000 credits, and if anybody can do the detective work to find it, it’s Camel… so I’ll just leave this here
This game is still broken and unplayable for me. I have about 5 minutes of play time before crashes and since the opening scenes longer than 5 minutes I can't play. It doesn't mean I haven't put in many hours trying but I have finally given up on starfield. Maybe the anniversary edition will actually f****** work
When the hunter came to constellation the first time for the fight part. After completing the mission I found him walking around in the basement chilling. It was super weird and I killed him. Pre sure it was a glitch but was interesting nonetheless.
I know about the cleaning bots, because I often leave stuff like cups on the ground to make which parts of the map I have cleared, because there is no mini map. One time I noticed one of these cleaning bots had followed me around picking up all the cups I had left to mark my trail lol
Another Bethesda game anology to meeting the Hunter early on would be all the little encounters you can have with Deacon in Fallout 4 before walking the Freedom Trail.
A couple of things. Finding items in the toilet is a reference to Fallout where you could find, well, items in the toilets. When you zoom in using the scanner you are limited to 4 times but if you change to 3rd person while zoomed it brings you in closer almost like a 5th zoom. I used console commands on Jemmison when they removed the chests to see if I could find where they moved them and went into the water there. I noticed that my character was using swimming animations and when I came out of the water, he gasped for air. The mechanics are definitely there for maybe a DLC or modders to use. Interesting video. 👍
17:15 So about the toilets, it's not just the toilets, it's alot of containers thought the world such as the yellow and black dumpsters, toaster ovens, caged cupboards outside ect. Also using an item is the wrong way to go about it because as you stated it's long and time consuming... No you want to unequip you weapon and just punch the toilet seat on the front outer lip. It'll pop open. Only works on green and black toilets, white ship toilets don't open. Time tested.
There is at least one asset partially labelled diver suit. They have plans, 100%. I found that out via an armour replacer mod that tweaked such assets.
@@imademyname11yearsagosonowthis I just know there is something with diver suit in the label within the files, that's it. Whether that means water worlds, underwater adventures, underwater creatures, or whatever... we won't know for some time. For all I know, it's something worn by fishermen in Neon.
or cancelled said plans, they did similar with Fallout 4, included textures and quest markers and then scrapped the entire idea. It's weird that they keep pushing off on underwater stuff
@@klayman2 If it was cut content, it would actually be cut. There's a number of things in the game that would seem to lead no-where as if there is content to be released. Think House Varuun and their significant absence.
@@VelaiciaCreator well there's places in F4 that most agree would be where the underwater questline would begin or revolve around, still in-game. The content itself (quest, creatures weapons) were cut from final release. It could easily be the same here, originally intended for something else but cut out towards the end.
I've heard the devs were given quite a bit of freedom. I bet the existence slushy seas was some devs little consolation to losing out on pushing for some underwater environmental development. If they see your video, you may have just made their day.
You can make your followers go around in their underwear by making them wear something like a hazmat suit then make them equip a hat. They will end up with nothing but the hat.
I was looking forward to all the lore to come out of starfield, but I don't think they gave much to really dive into for the good old hours longs lore dives I love so much from fallout and elder scrolls.
**SPOILERS** I bugged out the Hunter so he had a 'copy' of himself stuck in The Lodge in the upstairs bar. At the point when the hunter attacks you in the lodge, I think I broke the sequence. I unloaded my weapon into him and then the quest updated to run. So I ran. During the level transition under The Lodge through the locked door, the Hunter did not chase me. He did not chase me until I went to New Atlantis topside, then he appeared and attacked me. After the quest finished, The Hunter became a permanent resident of The Lodge. Minus any dialog. Like it was his ghost or something.
I have also only found that trait twice and I wanted to be able to swim in there so badly. I really hope this is something they implement in the future because it could be amazing!
I also ran into the Hunter in Akila City at the bar, I've actually come across him a few times on my play through, and while I have a vague idea of who he is I don't have the actual true context. But still he is fun to talk too.
I didn't know about the cleaner bots and the hunter early game, but some of the others I've known since start. Especially the dressing up companions. Andreja was not in a swimsuit for about 20 minutes when i first got her, and she's been in one for the past 200 hours
Hey boss - just to help out, it’s pronounced Alpha An-DRASS-Tay. Andraste was an ancient Celtic goddess, similar to Athena. You know how astronomers get; they love them some ancient god names. People might also know the name from the dragonage games, but that’s where it came from. Also, I think they planned underwater exploration, then they looked at Volii Alpha, and decided… you know what? Not worth it. Anyway: cheers! Good stuff!
Andraste is also the individual who is worshipped in BioWare’s Dragon Age series. Big stretch connection: Could the many nirnroot plants on that planet be a nod to their friends at Bioware???
There's multiple places where the under water areas are fully built and even on Neon the sea life is abundant even tho you can't normally get to it. It's quite clear there was a plan to allow underwater exploration and either its for the future or just never happened
I wonder if there could be further development with nirnroot in Starfield, like a connection to the mission in New Atlantis with the trees that are making noises?
I'm really surprised how few people seem to bring it up, but you can actually encounter the Hunter on Akila too at the outdoor bar, he even has more dialogue and (if I recall correctly) will greet you and remember you from the first convo.
Yeah having interactions with him will lead to your character recognizing him when he attacks the Lodge if I remember correctly he even brings up your previous meeting
I want details from Bethesda's other games in Starfield. Like daily routines for all major NPCs and shop owners, the ability to direct the actions of your companions like in the Fallout games, and last but not least, the ability to make builds that matter instead of a gun wielding pilot explorer.
It's a good game to relax to. Sadly, I'm taking a break because 2 core questlines cause my ship to disappear, and even if I swap home ships to an expendable ship, other ships can disappear after later jumps. Totally game breaking when you're 100% dependant on ships for fast travel, and fast travel is the only way between locations.
The scroll being lost to time could also be a reference to the purpose of the elder scroll in Skyrim's main quest, as the Ancient Dragonborns used it on Alduin to send him forth in time. The concept of time is very much related to the elder scrolls
This is such a fun video! I'm also glad the comment section is not bombarded by negativity cause starfield gets a lot of those, im really enjoying and loving the game and still discovering stuff after 300hrs haha the cleaning bot is new to me 🤣
I legitimately think that underwater exploration is content that was cut. I have 100% scanned planets only to find sea life that I had not yet scanned.
I found those purplish nirn roots weeks ago soon after I started the game, took a screen shot or two, and then totally forgot what planet or even system I found them in. Otherwise I would have commented on them under one of your earlier 10 things videos.
The Hunter is also at the hitchin post in Akila and he has different dialogue if you already talked to him on New Atlantis. You might need to be doing the empty nest mission I'm not sure.
Yeah, I saw him in both places. The first time he laughed about being in danger of having a 'real conversation' with someone. At the Hitching Post he discussed a bit of philosophy, about how he viewed the various factions as bad and that imposing your will necessarily hurts others. If he shows up in Neon at all I missed it...
In The Well (New Atlantic) you can loot creds and other valuables from lockers in the exterior upper floor of UC Security and it resets often so you can loot and loot and loot - made easier with a UC key card found nearby or on one of the soldiers
With that same key, you can set free a prisonner nearby... Just for him/her (It changes from time to time) being shot by the guards when he/she walks out of the security office.
You can clip under the map and sellers have storage chest under them with their inventory plus credits. But I presume you actually have to clip under because one time a section of ground didn't load in New Atlantis and when I explored under the map there was no chest. You can also open locked doors by forcing a npc into it till they clip through and they will open the door.
Traveling with Sarah once she mentioned how she used to dislike space walks until she found out she can use the bathroom in her suit. Probably how Heller does his stuff
11:20 I suspect the grabbability depends on if the hair has "bones" in its actors 3d model. Waiting eagerly for creation kit to easily mess around with the game 😊
Did you know that you can open any drawer in the game even on cabinets that dont seem to be interactive ? (Not just the lid of a toilet). You can walk by and friction will open the drawers. Or you can just shoot at all the furniture. Any drawer or doorlet will open. The dev could have potentially put items in any desk. But they didnt. Drawers are just a fancy added touch but dont have an utility function in the game.
I can only play at weekends due to work, but yeah im loving this game, only 3 main quests in, level 27, 700k credits, fleet of 13 ships, i haven't even got the starborn powers yet (about to dive in this weekend) I think I'll be playing this. This time next year, it's still awesome, and it's so massive
i just found another of those Geiger/Lovecraft bones at Schrodinger II, seems like there are more. Its callad Tar pit (in german Teergrube) and in the tooltip bone remains.
I saw "the Hunter" walk past me before he even entered the Viewport bar, when i chased after him to look at his armor, he said I'd only stopped him because of his suit, which was pretty cool
First of all I nearly spat my coffee out at "royal flush" so top tier pun. Secondly, I don't know how much if an Easter egg if any this is might be far reaching but if you compare Sarah Morgan with the 13th doctor from doctor who they look very identical, down to even where the hair parts. As well as the 13th doctor's companion wearing a similar jacket to her down to the color (and another similar jack in style tho that one is brown) I think it's interesting. Both are British, both are (technically) explorers and just given the nature of Starfield's plot. It might be worth looking into? Idk if maybe a dev was a fan of doctor who and saw an opportunity? Anyway enjoyed this video! Thanks for the tip on the wardrobes! I've been looking for a way to switch between the two and I didn't even think to look at the bottom of the UI lmao.
Around 5:30 you say the scroll being lost to time is likely them alluding to TES6 but thats a huge stretch i think. Its probably about how the scrolls move around and through time on their own.
One of the rangers computers either at the floating med station or at the office has some information about what cases they’re working on. One of those cases talks about receiving calls about a woman in distress but only a man was found at the home, and another case where a man said the home owner wasn’t there. To me it seems like a hidden serial killer kind of case, but I haven’t found anything else about it.
@@DavidCowie2022 you mean the ranger faction quest? Already did it and it seems unrelated; the faction quest has you deal with the first trying to take over farms for Ron hope. The note on the computer I’m referring to makes it seem as if people are calling for help then being murdered and a man is in their home pretending it is his when police arrive essentially.
@@vaughnsgone1603 I mean that does kind of line up with the whole premise of the faction quest, but yea i read the same thing as well and found it a little odd.
I had the Hunter jetpack in on top of me as I was running to my ship at about level nine. This was during my second playthrough and he scared the crap out of me. Had a quick conversation with him and then followed them as he walked up towards the Viewport. Another interesting thing I found on my second playthrough was in that first UC lab where you go to deal with the pirates before jumping out system. You hear where they had a taramorph caged up for the xenoweapon program. If you pay attention when you're looking around, you can also see that they were doing work on heat leeches.
So erm...what's your favorite thing to do in Starfield? You can explore planets, star systems, smuggle contraband, assassinate people, collect artifacts, build ships and huge bases! Me: "toilet farming"
In the next video id suggest having "pt 3" in the thumbnail. Love your stuff! Thanks for being such a courageous and courteous curator of the curious quirks of the cosmos ❤
So, when I went in for the interview with Ryujin... I forgot I was in a spacesuit, and Imogen made a snide remark about the corporate not being that hostile.
I still haven't finished the story yet but I have run into the hunter twice now. Once in Jemison and after that he was at the first bar you see when you come to Akila
Story is pretty good. I finished it at lvl 42 as I really wanted to be starborn and then explore different routes to the next time I go through. Don't rush it but still I definitely do it at some point
We absolutely need underwater exploration, underwater building etc on a scale of Subnautica mixed with No Mans Sky and some kind of teleportation or portal system for travel between distances and ships. Think of underwater capabilities in Neon such as combat with the feisty creatures, Leviathan action, underwater oil rigs, etc!!
I haven’t heard anyone mention this but one good to know feature is that if a ship takes off from the surface of a planet you can catch it in orbit. I killed the landing party of a Va’ruun ship and it took off, so I lifted off with my own ship and was able to catch up and still managed to capture it. So if a ship leaves the planet surface it’s not completely lost for you.
The Hunter can actually be encountered again, at least once, in the same manner that you find him on Jemison. I found him on Akila, at the Hitching Post I believe, and continued the conversation from earlier. There may be more locations where you can meet the Hunter and foreshadow his role, but I've only encountered the two.
I feel like The Hunter is a nod to The Ebony Warrior. He's wearing all black armor, he's mysterious, has that raspy voice like The Ebony warrior had, and the line "Retired, actually. From too many lives to count. But I've been all those things, yeah. And a few more."... one of those being THE EBONY WARRIORS! With Shattered Space coming soon, maybe a new level cap and a battle with The Hunter?
Don't drop stuff on the ground around them unless you never want to see it again, never seen one move so fast as it was on my item like white on rice before I could click to pick it back up .
If you use the in game 'camera mode' you can actually travel a bit from where your character stands, even around xorners, which can be used to scout around a little, i wonder if you could use that to explore under water without using console commands.
If you just walk into the toilets, or cabinets too, sometimes the lid, or door, just flips open. It's not fool proof but it's easier than trying to lift the lid with another object.
I have also spent way too much time trying to grab Andreja’s hair. I don’t know what that means and I don’t know if I really wanna think about it but I thought I would just come clean.
You can also encounter The Hunter (or possibly The Emissary, as they appeared more physically female when I did so, though I'm sure they were still marked as "The Hunter") in Akila's bar after this encounter, and they will have more to say...
I ran into the hunter really early on in the game. I saw him at the Viewport and walked up to him first. I later saw him at The Hitching Post in Akila.
So what does the white square with the exclamation inside mean on items in your inventory? I've seen it on a few things, but i have no idea what it means.
Interestingly enough. knew about the Clothing options for settlements. But due to my RPing a Mandolorian. I actually leave my armor, and helmet on in settlements. to fit with my own immersion of RPing a MAndo, and Never showing my face.
Every time I go to Akila City, I’m just waiting for one of the city guards to go : Y’know, sometimes patrolling The Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter…
I went ahead and did the last update earlier today , and when I went back into game afterwards . It appears that I don't even need to wear a spacesuit . I play on easy because I would rather Explorer and just treat it like an RPG and not a survival game . And I always griped about the fact that as far as environmental damages go there's no difference from easy to hard . I'm not sure if they intended it to be that way or if they just fixed it and made it what it was supposed to be to begin with . But I traveled to Mars , and it dumped me out of my ship at the entrance of the space station or whatever it's called . In nothing but my regular clothes , and instead of a bunch of warnings going on about how the environment isn't breathable . It just acted like everything was normal . If it's a glitch I hope they don't fix it , if they meant to do it then thank you Todd .
When I first got to New Atlantis I put down a save and just opened up on the civilians (just to get a feel for how tough the security/guards would be. Out of nowhere The Hunter who I had never interacted with before or even knew existed, showed up with clones and merc’d me. At that point I thought “The Hunters” were like just super tough guards. Imagine my surprise when I encountered him in the main story. I haven’t been able to duplicate that though so maybe it was a glitch
I was walking past the bushes outside the Viewpoint and the Hunter jumped out. Specifically a strange man in a mask and long coat jumped out and looked at me. The creepy dialogue when i tried to reprimand him convinced me what this guy was up to. Subsequent gameplay has not convinced me otherwise.
Funny line found in my second character. At the start of a new game (not NG+), after going up the elevator, there’s a miner sitting in the module to the left of the last room. Take his sandwich. I don’t know if you get the same responses if you take sandwiches from other NPC’s, but it works for this guy.
Andraste I am 99% certain is a reference to BioWare's Dragon Age series--and both are (as I just learned) are referencing an Icelandic goddess of victory (at least per Wiki)...
