There's a better version of the Duplication Glitch. The "Godd Howard Glitch" I wrote this a couple of weeks ago: This is where things just get Silly with what you can do if you repeatedly copy parts into the same destination. Make a stack of Deimos Bracers (or similar). Anywhere, doesn't matter. Now, place whatever item, above whatever other item. Delete 1 middle Bracer. Ensure that there is a Bracer in the opposite direction from where you want to move the other Item. (ie. If you want to move down, have a Bracer above the one you're moving, saves a little time.) Now the challenging part. Select both the Bracer & the Item you wish to Duplicate, (PC: L-CTRL & Mouse) and... Copy. (Ctrl-G) Now just add more items to the mix. Playing around, I discovered how truly broken this system is. You can repeat this for most items, as much as you want. I just placed everything except a cockpit, and Landing Bay into the Reactor. One tiny, ridiculous Ship. Glitch Building is fun, but this is broken. "It just works" -Godd Howard
I don't understand why people don't like the drop down, flip and duplicate glitches!? It's not taking away from the experience or immersion of the game. If anything it just gives more options in building and a far better appearance of your ships. Anyway I actually learned something here that frustrated me when trying the drop down glitch. So good deal 👌. Appreciate the video!!!
It's a simple matter of taste. I think that _some_ glitched parts can look good. Others really don't. There's quite a few instances in this video where he thought something looked fantastic and I thought it looked hideous. **shrugs**
Thank you, I've watched dozens of videos and I could never get the drop down glitch to work on xbox. None of the other videos said I had to push down on the D pad. Thank you, I've been wanting to do this for weeks.
Great job explaining how to do this. I just used it to upgrade some engines that wouldn't fit! And now I was able to hide a 1600 shield I had nowhere to put it! Thanks
This might sound like a dumb question, but I'm on the latest version of starfield. How are you forcing it to copy down on the pc? I try and copy and it forces it to the side where it's open and not down. I'm trying to merge the grave drive and reactor. This is driving me nuts. Peeps make it look easy but nope! Copy you have to hold the g and control button on pc
You can't just hold down a on it you have to let go of a to even select the part so how can you hold a to select and move it down and then release. When it's not possible to select the piece without releasing.
It was making me crazy trying to merge the Deimos wing to the Nova cowling but I figured it out. It comes down to just using a ton of hulls to get the snap points and then deleting when you’re done. Thanks!!
I know I'm late to the game, but the drop down glitch can be simplified. From the point right before you select the part you're glitching, hover the pointer over, take your hand off the mouse, select with space or E, and it'll move. Deselect sith the same button, and boom. Done. It removes the need for timing button releases.
My favorite use of the dupe glitch is putting an SF40 reactor, GV300 grav drive, and two supplementary reactors (supplemental reactors mod I’m using) all in one square stacked together. Which is neat and saves a TON of space, and also allows me to get 30lys of Jump Range and 123 units of reactor power in one single cube worth of space, but the best part is that it confuses the hell out of the game and if I attach the Supernova engines to the back of my unholy stack of ship parts then I can just basically infinitely duplicate them one on top of the other. I have a couple ships that are like 6000+ mass, but also 100 mobility while seemingly having only a single engine. It’s so clean looking.
I think what it is when it comes to duplicating a piece and it does not merge into the intended slot it is because the piece that is in place already is occupying all the available snap points. So say if you are trying to merge two pieces that only have one snap point and in the same position as each you will not be able merge no matter what unless however if you merge some adjacent to the first into whatever piece you have it snapped too, it places another snap point option for you to then merge another piece into the piece already set in place. The big down side to this however is you’re adding extra mass to your build and before you know it you can get carried away with repeating this process to merge so much for aesthetics or to hide certain parts of a build your mobility can take a significant hit and your ship won’t shift as fast as expected because of all the hidden weight.
Thankyou! Have been trying to do on console for ages and I have had to only use the flip glitch. Two new ones you legend and the break in of the controller footage is much appreciated!
For the times when you had to switch the order of parts. From what I have found is that there has to be a "free" attachment point to work. So with you braking engine example from the video the wing was using the same attachment point so the point wasn't free. The wing had other attachment points that were free after the brain engine was in place.
instead of doing like he shows, by holding A and hitting down on the d pad, place the item you want to drop down glitch, then move the Deimos Hull away then select the part you want to drop down and it should snap in, that’s how i got it to work
I have a question. How do you get such a long zoom out in 3rd person with your ship? When I make ships like this my camera is always right behind the engines and i can't even see my entire ship.
Hello Rahf, so what you do when this happens is you go into photo mode and use the field of view bar to zoom all the way in. Then back out of camera mode and it should reset your camera to a decent zoom from behind the ship :)
