My biggest problem with this game was there is no point playing the game as a renegade. Every character being vanilla good. Besides the obvious quest line. Everyone dislikes when you do something immoral.

Spit on the sidewalk, and all of Constellation gets angry at you. Outside of Sam at any rate. You essentially have no means to use them, and have an immersive experience.

I agree with this opinion. I don't like we can't have different companions with moral ambiguity. They do have a mod on the creation kit with a new companion who is supposed to give you that moral ambiguity. I thought Andreja would be that character in the base game, but she's the same as the others.

Don’t care what anybody says I liked this game. Went media blackout on it because I wanted to experience it without any reviews or spoilers. It was my most played game of 2023. Played it straight from launch till like January, burned out on it but will redownload when dlc comes out

@@lolasdm6959 No mans sky is literally so much worse, that it's not even comparable. You know why? Because NMS is a COMPLETELY different game other then being in space. Have some self respect, and finally educate yourself. Starfield is the first and ONLY real full quality rpg game in space, and NMS doesn't come even close to that, and saying that is just an insult to the detail, and crazy technology that went into starfield to alone look that good. If no mans sky tried to do what starfield does, you wouldn't have a game, because they can't do it.

I like the concept of the Trackers Alliance having the Astra tokens that allow you to buy rare gear. They should create new exotic space suits and weapons that are only available if you earn a lot of tokens. It could be a good endgame style system that keeps people doing missions even after they complete the main story.

No, its not OP. My equips are way better ( notable suit, helmet and so on ). Its a good suit for ppl who dont play so much and now they have a chance to use a good suit. Thats all.

@KeironP1 You shouldn't have to pay Bethesda for any community made mod. It doesn't matter if you're using their mod support platform, their game is so broken that you need mods to play the game properly. How is it in any way ok for them to monetize other people's work? I don't mind paying the modder directly, but since you buy credits to then pay for the mod, I somehow doubt the mod creater gets much kickback

@jamesdax I don't HAVE to, unless I wanna try and fix the game Bethesda released to be playable and fun. You heard him, a patch for bug fixes is the highest downloaded mod right now, and if I want those bugs fixed I have to PAY for it? Keep in mind, you don't pay for the mod durectly, you pay for credits and you spend those credits on the mod like it's premium currency. How much kickback does the actual mod dev make on the premium currency purchas?

I’ve started to work on a theory, that Bethesda thought “what’s better than releasing a great game? Releasing an alright game and then making it great” I think they saw cyber punk and no man’s sky and purposely released starfield missing basic features like maps and vehicles so they could act like they were listening to the fans and release these features over time. Am I crazy ?

Since loot is lv scaled by rank and star system lv its not worth a bunch of low lv gear grinding. Also I really wish we could get color varieties of our space suits without paying extra for that. Different helmets and pack variants I'd pay for those if worth it.

I played for a few hours at launch, but dropped off because I was playing other games. I have now returned to it and it’s so good. I am 20 hours in and have only done maybe four main missions. There is so much extra to do with so many different stories

The thing about the vehicles: they'll mostly be an illusion. You won't be traveling much faster than a full sprint or much faster than your jetpack. Because of how outdated the creation engine is, it actually can't load in the environmental data fast enough for you to really zip around on a speeder bike or a buggy or something. It may feel like you're moving faster, like how Mass Effect didn't *actually* have you moving faster when you sprinted, but in terms of getting around faster, we may see a verrrrrry slight increase in speed but it won't actually make a significant difference in travel time, unfortunately.

@@Badazzgamer43 nope it’s on Bethesda to not care about mods support. Most people who play their games are there to play with mods. If they don’t care about that, you know what people do? They reverse that update and keep playing their mods. It’s what happened for Skyrim and fallout 4. But starfield has so little of a modding community because most Bethesda players find it boring, that no one will even bother to make a update reverser and most of the mods won’t be updated.

Imagine releasing a game that performs like a 1980 skoda then adding parts to it to make it slightly better and trying to tell people that the game is getting better. I am one of those people that thought the game was OK it was not good nor bad but the main problems are not going to go away unless they rewrite the main story and make the end game much better, they could take time to write several new game + that make the universe different like in one universe Humans are on the brink of extinction and its up to you to fight back against aliens or one universe is controlled by Pirates and you can either help them conquer the remaining planets or save the universe from the pirates etc. Adding things that should have been in the game at the start is not something to praise, would you take your car in to be fixed and they forget to repair the brakes/engine/windows/seat belts and then 2 years later they fix the seat belt first then praise them for repairing that part?

that sound like a bunch of future quest mods also the main story after the neon mission is actually interesting, though i do agree with the sentiment that games shouldn't be release unfinished, but at the same time watch a RU-vid vid, read a review, then play another game until the game is complete. it to cyberpunk years to become mostly what was promised and it to no man sky even more but people praise these games with no end in sight while also bashing starfield acting like both of those games didn't have worse releases then starfield.

Immersive. Many of the cabinets and storage spaces, either on the ships or at outposts, are not immersive (not accessible). They are just there, like wallpaper. Fallout 4 for example: dozens and dozens of storage options in many categories. This is a looting game too, but the only place to store your loot are various sized boxes and "somewhere" on the ship. What's with all the inaccessible cabinets and cabinets where you can open the doors, but can't put anything in them? Why don't any of the sinks or showers work. Refrigerators? What are they good for? You can open them and close them. Lame. Seriously. Why didn't the devs use the 40,000+ mods from Fallout 4 as an inspiration to give the players of Starfield a better building experience. Most of my time in Fallout 4 was spent building and equiping settlements. I think Bethesda needs to rethink how they are going to keep players interested in this game. Hint...it's not just about the quests.

Starfield was always meant to be fallout in space and a clean canvas for modding. You can tell people didn't understand this because they keep bringing up no man sky, Nms is space Minecraft not space fallout. Just let people enjoy the game

I'm pretty sure Todd said they wanted this game to stand apart from fallout and elder scrolls. It was meant to be its own game. Whether they succeeded or not is the real question. Too many people are trying to compare this game to all sorts of games. But almost nobody is judging it all on its own. Just the game, nothing else. Is it fun, is it unique, is it innovative, is the storyline good, etc. That's what people need to judge it on. I thought it was a great game, but after playing Cyberpunk 2077, I definitely thought it wasn't as great. Cyberpunk 2077 is amazing. I highly recommend it.

@@Cyber_Productions1998 iv completed it three times and completed both phantom library endings, and completed all gigs and ncpd calls and side missions, and watched Edrunners (rip Maine) but it took 1 full year to become what a 7 out of 10 and 2 more to become a 11 out of 10 this is why i find it so weird that many cyberpunk fans were making fun of starfield launch when cyberpunks launch was worse.

@azzubairfaruq3124 Yeah, Starfields launch was much better. I also completed everything possible in Cyberpunk 2077. All endings, all the Gigs, ncpd scanners, all the side quests I had in my journal, and found along the way. With starfield, I didn't feel compelled to do every side quest and everything you could possibly do. I just beat the game and did some side quests.

Yes that is too hard to ask for. NMS's and Starfield's planets are completely different. They are also ran in completely different game engines. Starfield has to load every planet because the creation engine has to manage every single movable item on the planet. They can all be moved and thrown around by the player. The engine is much better suited for a game that takes place on one planet.

I want to mod on xbox but I also want to get all the achievements, I wish certain mods didn't disable achievements. Mods that more effect immersion like removing the filter that is on everything and fix bugs like the community patch, those shouldn't affect achievements.

Starfield had so much potential. Instead it turned out to be a boring sloppy mess that has nothing much to keep you playing. Companions are all basically the same person, none of them are super interesting. Being evil has no purpose. If you got a bounty on you, you’re pretty much screwed and can’t complete the main story. Since youll ultimately get blown up when flying to a planet you need to go to. Even when doing the evil play through you can’t kill certain NPCs that you would end up killing anyway. Just the sense of role play isn’t there. Such a soulless husk of a game.

I'm thinking they cut a ton of content out of the original game just to sell it back to us later. Starfield was a huge disappointment to me to as it had no where near the quests Fallout4 or Skyrim had. And what there was , was very boring for the most part. I can't see myself getting excited about this new stuff after the bad start from before. I still haven't finished the main quest having given up on it in disgust. Exploration loop, what exploration loop? The planets had cut and paste missions that where the same identical missions from other planets, if that.

SF needs to be reworked from the ground up in anew engine before it will have a chance at being good. *and creation kit mods for sale is absurd, have a look at reviews...we are not buying it

Don’t download the unofficial Starfield patch. That author is a terrible person and changes things as he sees fit. The community patch is a much better alternative that actually fixes bugs not change things in the game just because the author feels like it.

They should have just worked on TES6 instead of Starfield. The issue with Starfield is they tried too get too ambitious with an Engine thats been around since Morrowind.

Medieval is where they shine and what the engine was originally designed for and is what they should stick too. If they want to make other kinds of games they should use a new engine that is actually designed to accomodate all the new stuff they are trying to do.

totally agree, it destroyed the best thing about TES, Fallout, the Open world exploration, seeing whats behind that hill, this is the only bethesda game i use Fast travel. The game is already dead, no one will be playing in it 2, 5 years, unlike their prior ones

So just downloaded the update - I haven't played since it was released - been waiting for the DLC - so it looks like they want more of our $$ thru creation - [ credits ] what's that all about - I guess you all call it [ flavor ] - is it a pay to enjoy the whole game scenario?? - Its sure is funny how folks work and justify that greed !! To me - all this other stuff with a price tag is not to attractive to me - I had to eat roman noodle for a month to save just for the game and DLC - now they want more $$ - forget that - thank goodness for modders and STEAM workshop - FREE! HAAA! thanks for the intel

I'm getting very close to 200 hours spent in the Starfield. I haven't put this many hours into any game in a long, long time. I haven't found anything about it yet that I feel seriously disappointed in. Mods just made it even more fun! This game is friggin awesome 😎

If the new DLC's story isn't a massive step up from the base game this game is going to be even more dead than it is. The horrible bland writing is what killed this game more than anything. Every single character is forgettable. Every single quest feels lazily executed with no "wow" moments. Biggest disappointment I've ever had in a game. Which is a shame because I thought those things would at least be good given its a Bethesda game.

Current players: Skyrim: 20,000 Fallout 4: 42,000 Starfield: 10,000 for a brand new bethesda game, having half of skyrims current players, its safe to say starfield is dead. skyrim is 13 years old. fallout 4 is 10yrs old. numbers dont lie. and this is after starfield just got a big update where the player count would go up.
