I only got it after the most recent update, and honestly have no issues with it. Can I run it at High/Ultra settings? No, but do I care? No. The gameplay is awesome, the lore and sidequests already are fun, and it wasn’t even made to be native 60fps. I do also have a 512 gb SD card, so that could be a reason others are having issues. But it just seems like people are complaining
I haven’t had any stuttering or lag in New Atlantis, at least nothing game breaking. Coming from Morrowind/Oblivion era and still playing those games I guess that’s why I’m pleased haa
It's honestly not horrible. 100% playable. It would be nice to see Bethesda support this game on the Steam Deck like CDPR did with Cyberpunk but until then Proton Experimental and the 3.5 Steam OS preview build works pretty good!
This makes me pretty hopeful for future updates. May grab it on Steam soon Been playing on Series S and really really love it, but I’d prefer steamdeck if I can run it there
Same. I think in a few months it will be pretty stable on steam deck. I also have the game on Series X. In the meantime I have been streaming starfield from gamepass which is really nice because all of my saves sync from the Xbox. If you have Gamepass as well look for a RU-vid video on how to set up the gamepass client on the steam deck. Works pretty well.
Thank you! That is a tough one. Kinda up in the air considering performance isn't 100% stable yet however I do think it will improve over time and I'm sure there will be some sales as well. I also have the game on Series X and I do really like it overall. Solid 8/10 for me. As of now gun battle performance ranges from 28-30 outside and 30-35 indoors. I can see if I can make a follow-up video to showcase some gun battle.
In the past, I played Arma3 at around 20fps for over 600 hours and probably many other players experience the same performance lvl as me so If you think you are okay with it then go for it.
@KickMe1177 I do both. It is nice when you have a solid internet connection however many times I do not like when I'm on an airplane. I also enjoy pushing hardware to its absolute limits. Especially something as budget friendly as the Steam Deck.
Fook that i will still just play on my PC till and if they can get at least a semi stable 30 to 40 fps. I wish i couyld run 3.5 on my brand new deck though.
Its subjective for sure but I agree. 30 fps minimum for me. If you have the hardware on your PC might as well play it that way. A lot of people don't have that option though.
I saw issues it worked for a while but now when i put it on preview build it just cycles loading game data then homescreen pops up but if you try select a game it cycles loading game data again and again. which is a shame co's i liked having my external SSD recognised in gaming mode. sucks. it's only on my brand new deck so far its still working on my older deck but I havent really used it on the old deck so
i would say the update didn't make any difference the game doesn't run well on steam Deck Starfield just doesn't run well on anything have a rtx 3060 and i get 50 - 70 fps on low with 4k i like the game 7+/10 but oh my good there are so many things i also hate about the game like the gameplay doesn't run well
It did make a difference on my Steam Deck. I could try to put together a comparison video but it's a solid 3 FPS increase on average. I'd say 10% gain give or take is a pretty solid increase in performance.
Man, a 3060 is not for 4K gaming, it's a miracle you even manage to get an average of 60 fps with thar card(coming from me, a 3060 Ti owner) These cards shine the best in 1080p and 1440p. For 4K, you need a 3080 minimum.
