Scientists. I haven't seen what you have yet. I feel like new things have been added with the patches. Whenever I take a "space taxi" kiosk mission, where I drop off settlers or scientists, I also provide an escort service where I go ahead and take out any ferocious critters and check out the outpost they are heading to. A few times I have come to find a robot rebellion and if I hadn't taken out the killer robots my passengers would have been killed when they arrived at the science lab.
