Just discovered your channel while I was trying to wrap my head around installing the script extender. It was very informative and well presented. In return all I can offer you at the moment is some advise on crossing into your 40s as someone who's two years in. You may find yourself suddenly having urges to consume media content detailing past and present wars featuring a narrator explaining the technical and logistical issues of said war in excruciating detail. Don't worry, this is normal. You're not becoming numb to the suffering of others, it's just a change men start to go through around our age. My advice is to start with the Persian Gulf war as it is a near perfect example of how to conduct an invasion of an entrenched, battled hardened nation. You may no know it yet but you're now very interested in efficient military operations.

hey man. i haven't checked your channel in a while, thought i'd look in on you. i hope you're feeling better. you are right about taking walks. it works for mood very well. i had covid at the start, i was sick for about 6 weeks, and i walked my way back to health. it took a while, but i enjoyed it, and now i walk 4 miles a day almost every single day. i have some pretty stressful issues i'm dealing with, but walking got my cardio back, my breathing back, and helps me face some very serious struggles in my family's lives. so, get to it! it improves every aspect of your live. lol, i do occasionally get a hurt toe or something (i broke my toes about a decade ago) so i stretch pretty aggressively before i set out; that seems to help quite a bit. good luck, i'll check back in on you. success and contentment be with you.

I haven't installed SFSE yet because the few mods I have don't require it. Also, thanks to you, I already know how to install the various script extenders, but this is another great guide that I will be sharing for sure! Nice work!

@@gamerpoets I totally forgot earlier🤦♂️ happy birthday I also turned 40 in June 😌 and unfortunately also have a lot to do with doctors at the moment👍🏻 because of a thrombosis in my left leg 😏 which is keeping me from playing and modding Starfield for now🤷♂️ but i managed to play for almost 130 hours before with at least 57 mods running😉

For anyone that is using the baka achievement enabler and do not want any mod managers. All you have to do is get the dll folder from the zip folder you downloaded. Drag and drop with all the other files were dropped into at 1:07 in the video(continue the video). Skip to the verification portion of his video. Bro @Gamerpoets love the voice and how easy you made this video feel to follow. You got my subscribe.
I'm guessing the mods will really start coming around once the Creation Kit comes out. There probably is some good ones now and for sure more to come before the CK... but with Bethesda games things always start to take off once official tools are released.
Hi, thanks for your work, specifically this video. Like the rug in the dude's living room, this tied it all together. What I mean is that despite Vortex being a remarkable application with an extremely well designed, and intuitive interface, at no time does it mention during the installation of a mod that requires SFSE, while showing you that it will be included in the downloaded files and installed, that you must use SFSE to launch the game. Doh! I had even gone so far as to add SFSE as a tool. I just wasn't sure why I was doing that. When I saw the additional file as part of the download, I concluded that it was something needed to make the mod work, like a library. Most of the mods work for me, but now I know, most likely, why the ones that didn't, didn't. Complete oversight on their part. Last thing. I've done this many times before, but I'm struggling with getting a shortcut on the taskbar for SFSE with the Starfield icon. After making a shortcut for the exe, and using windows to change the icon, when I select the starfield.exe as the target, Windows comes back with the fact that it can't find any icons in starfield.exe. Yet, through Vortex, in the tools section, I can use starfiled.exe as the target for the icon for its SFSE shortcut?? Happy birthday! If I may, I'd like to offer two bits of wisdom. First, whatever age you are, you are for the first, and the last time. Secondly, when I turned 30, I was asked for my thoughts. I said I'll bet that when I turn 40, I'll wish I was turning 30, and when I turn 50, I'll wish I was turning 40, and so on. So I'll stop that nonsense now. 😎 Peace.
I have enjoyed your tutorials from back when it was just your voice in videos. I could only imagine what the person with that voice looked like. Point being way back. My request...I just updated MO2 to version 2.50rc1. Finally, out of Beta. The more I look at it the more I realize how little I know. Do you think you could do a tutorial, or even a series about how to use this wonderful tool. Back in 2015 modding Skyrim I used NMM. What a piece of JUNK! So MO2.5 is new to me, and I think some of your expert insight would be a huge hit.
I own SF, but have not started seriously playing or modding yet. It's nice to know you have my back for when I do! BTW would you consider making a video on how to switch from using Vortex (as I currently do for Skyrim SE) to using Mod Manager 2 (which I would like to switch to for Skyrim SE) for a game? It's unclear to me how I might move all my mods over from being managed by one to being managed by the other. Would I need to do a clean instal of SE and re-install all of the mods? That sounds truly scary and probably not worth it. When the time comes I plan on stating a fresh mod list on MM2 for Starfield.
Once the Creation Kit thing comes out for this game mods should "take off" ;) There's no simple way to switch. If you have the mod archives put them into MO2's downloads folder then install them one by one. Making sure to first deactivate them in Vortex. And I'd do a clean installation of the game after youve put the mods in MO2's Downloads directory, once they are safe in MO2 so you dont accidently delete them.
@@gamerpoets Thanks, I figured it would be something like copy (the archives) and re-install everything... I guess I do have the archives, since I never went and deleted them manually after install, This is likely the last time I curate a mod list / set up for Skyrim so it will likely just stay a Vortex game as long as it is on my hard drive. Hopefully Starfield and ES6 will get my modding attention from now on and this will be my last Skyrim play through.
Stupid question...what will anything besides 'mods not working' happen if I forget to launch the game from Vortex? In other words, will I screw everything up?
If the mods in your save don't load then your save file may need them to function and get corrupted. If you just launched the game... thats no big deal. Just turn it off and launch that same save from the script extender (which you should be able to do through Vortex)
Hey Dave = ) I don't own or use VR. I have terrible vertigo and anything over my eyes makes me sick. Won't be anything VR on the channel for the foreseeable future.
@@gamerpoets I don't remember seeing it in the other games. I don't think the other games took away achievements when using the console, could have been added as a just in case for this game.
Ok, never mind about the icon issue. I told Windows to "send to" desktop shortcut, instead of just creating a shortcut. When I tried to modify the icon for the desktop shortcut, Windows magically found the starfield icon in starfield.exe, which I was then able to send to taskbar. I'm inclined to guess a security issue, or permissions issue, except that I run Windows with an admin account, despite knowing that I shouldn't do that.

I’ve got an issue using SFSE. I use vortex for now since MO2 is in Beta for Starfield, however when I launch from vortex I get into game fine and console command works just fine however I can’t use my controller. I can only use keyboard to play the game. When I launch from steam I’ve got no issues at all with controller and everything works as it should.
I've not tried a controller with the game yet. Making me curious to do so now, though. I don't recall them needing to add anything specific for controller support in previous games but maybe? Might be worth asking on my discord. Have a few people heavily into the game at the moment there. I'll try to test my game as well.
@@gamerpoets I appreciate it. Now as of this morning I try launching from vortex sfse I get message sfse is out of date. Despite it being latest version. I give up on the vortex thing. I always have issues no matter the game and why I always use MO2 no matter the game. I’ll delete vortex and the mods used on it and install MO2 later or just may continue to do it all manually instead. Not sure what I’ll do lol.
i had the old virsion of STSE when i replaced the old files with the new ones in the root folder the script extender crashes every time i run the exe :(
@@holdenroth5929 Skyrim still has so much content I still haven't done, so many mods. Also...Just started Cyberpunk to give it a shot. So plenty...plenty.
I dont think there is an official update yet? Had to have come recently if it did. If the paths are wrong you just have to go into your MO2 settings stuff and manually choose new ones.
@@gamerpoets I’ll give it another try when I do it I get an error that locks me out of my other instances and I have to open MO2 as administrator and delete the Starfield instance
Update: I found the right path and it seems to work. One question though.MO2 doesn’t show the game itself in the left pane or any game esp’s under data, unlike Skyrim or Fallout 4

@@gamerpoets disk cache enabler 1.1 works fine with sfse0.1.0, which solves the stutters on hdd problem seems it's all a big conspiracy to make gamers new pc components happy b-day btw!
