The lasers are so good! The longfang does so much more damage than the Orion when they're both set up the same. You don't get the skill magazine bonuses to capacity, but it evens out. I'm still trying to figure out the use case for the penumbra, it won't replace my Bridger though. I haven't spent much time with the heavy weapon yet. It's definitely better than the microgun, but I still prefer the magstorm due to no spin up.
Yeah, full auto continues to be trash. The only exception being shotguns, which retain their damage. Burst fire on the vanilla Va'Ruun pistol isn't too bad either, since the thing has a slow fire rate you actually increase DPS by an appreciable amount without burning through 100 ammo to kill something. The power creep on the DLC weapons would make them handy for NG+.
A lot of weapons have damage amplifiers for internal mods as well as attachments that contain passive damage boosts. Thing is these mods are locked behind Weapon Engineering Rank 3.
the Solstice should've been a gun that ran off of temperature, if you fire it too much or equip it in a hot environment it wouldn't work or overheat too quickly. Different firing rates could affect its heat buildup and using it in a cold frozen environment grants a kind of unlimited "ammo" affect at the cost of overall damage.
I'm just curious about something. House Va'ruun is technology advanced, like you said, so why would they basically resuse and upgrade already existing weapons? Just curious haha :). Btw, I love your videos. Thanks for making them! :)
@@GameBoyDame Gotta disagree with you on this one. I'm a professional 3D artist and breaking an existing asset to change it to the lengths Bethesda did is in-fact, more work because you're creating new reference geometry/design aspects that have to tailor to a convention vs creating something fresh with no restrictions. It was definitely a specific design choice I personally would have preferred all custom though 🍻
You see I looked at it similar to how he did but the UC and FC were the ones trying to reverse engineer the Varuun versions but failed in their attempts to do so and we got the laser weapons we had at launch the less effective versions
Coffee time! Every revolver looks like a smith, every new handgun design is a Glock clone or a 1911 clone (obviously with exceptions. Everyone copies good designs, and I would think in these cases the Settled systems probably reskinned their weapons after the Crusades. Great video, don’t mind the trolls, the DLC is great.
I hope that someone will make a mod that will add Va'ruun ship weapons to the game that uses some of these weapon skins. It would be so cool to have the ship weapons look like a larger version of the Va'ruun Starstorm hanging off my Va'ruun ships.
I basically don't agree with any of the criticisms the DLC is getting. But I have one gripe with it that I haven't heard anyone talk about yet, which is strange because it's quite obvious and very out of form for BGS. Where are the unique weapons and armors?? I haven't found a single named weapon in the main quest, or in any of the side missions I've done so far. They were never especially good mind you, but never the less my safe in the lodge is filled with them, and I was hoping to add some new, cool Varuun uniques to my collection!
Probably poorly. Terrormorphs have a high health pool. You'd be better off using lasers with an incendiary effect, since fire drops a percentage of total health.
