The Hyena I and II have different ladder layouts. The reason seems to be a 1x1 empty space directly below the cockpit on the Hyena I. On the teardown you can see it right in front of the reactor. This is a great place to stick shielded cargo or equipment you want to keep hidden.
Both the Spacer Hyena and the Crimson Fleet Wight are both just different versions of the of the Crossbow I and III. I got lucky on a ship technician roll for the crossbow and had that for a while before I saw the Wight in the crimson fleet's ship technician shop.
I got three in one night, it's amazing how many spacers fit in one of these things :) . It's a beautiful ship, but it needs mostly everything, but it's honestly maybe my favorite ship when fixed up. The storage room always goes when I upgrade one, wish the storage actually equaled usable storage. Quick tip for new players, always register the ship you steal through your inventory menu, not at a ship builder, it's about a third cheaper.
I got a spacer hyena 3 today, really weird it was just sitting sitting there, the door was open and no one was home, and it gets weirder, the ship takes off with me and Sarah on it, so I go through the whole ship and empty, I get in the captains seat and take it. First thing I did was stick on four Dunn71 and brings it up to 100 from 44 mobility and since they're class B engines the top speed is 140. Put the 1600 shield on it and better weapons. It came with the best reactor the shear one that gives you 40. Now I have a 2 and 3. It's a beautiful ship.
The best part about this ship is that it comes with more than you need. There's so much extra weight to tear off, that once you get it stripped down and optimized Its by far the best "not from scratch" platform.
@@CrimsonFlyboy it’s actually the one I did lol. Got rid of all the extra crew and passenger bays, strapped the best engines on it, 4 top tier rapid particle beams, 3 EM, and the chonkiest reactor. Pretty much 1 passes everything XD
Isn't this the same ship, aesthetics, stats & all, as the Crimson Fleet Wight? I had both for a minute and was surprised that they seemed identical. I believe the Wight had one more bar of power and I couldn't understand why because they had the Exact Same Reactor. Do you know why that would be? I decided to sell the Hyena and keep the Wight because I already had the Spacer Coyote in my Stable. Thank you for the Reviews. it really helps me to plan upgrades to my existing ships. Most of the enemy faction ships are just reskinned vessels built by the main shio manufacturers. The only real difference between them will be the weapons. Aside from that they are pretty much identical.
6:12 these same security npcs spawned in and replaced the pirates after I captured it. Earler Sarah yelled as if I shot an innocent I wonder if regular npcs get mixed in with pirate crews.
Thank you for the video. I was gunning for the "Own 10 Ships" achievement, so one evening I captured seven ships. This was one of those. That was also the same night I picked up the Claymore. This was fodder for the Claymore's upgrades.
the whole left side of the ship is inacessable. i got on one of these and couldnt find the rest of the crew that was locked on the left side of the ship, and i couldnt claim the ship as my own, it also flew into space which is always anoying, especialy this time. i have max piloting skill, but that doesnt matter if you cant kill all of the crew. im also keeping my acheivments on, so noclip isnt an option
I picked up the UC version of this along with a Crimson Fleet Wight version when out farming. I've only kept the UC one - but, since I'm still below level 50 - I may sell that too and wait until I'm over level 60 to go farm the version 2 or 3 versions of these ships that will hopefully require less upgrading to make them great.
@@CrimsonFlyboy yep, fresh coat of paint and poof she's a beauty. She's one of the ships that NPCs will comment on. I fixed my shield breaker into a beauty of a class c ships and not one comment. Must be game logic 🙂
Same her on my shield breaker, and they insult my Frontier which is a monster, the most expensive ship I've made. They still see it as the old junker and say stuff like They're surprised it made it through another space trip. They also say she seen better days :0) lol
It’s essentially identical to the crimson fleet wight, except it has less cargo and I think no shielded cargo? Also has a different hull stat but it looks the same
I saw the crimson Wright iii variation and immediately fell in love with it I had to get it, I upgraded the grav drive, generator, engine, shields and cargo and the weapon it absolutely shreds enemies
I've had a Hyena II & Hyena III... but got stuck out in a distant system and ended up having to roll back to a save. As a side note, there are 2 different layouts for this style ship one with the ladder back where this one is... and another where it's up closer to where you board.
If you ever have this issue again, you need to make sure you've sat in the seat, then go to the ship menu and set it as your hone ship. Then, get out of the captain's seat, and you can fast travel to any of the settlements
Are you doing the Spacer Raven? This ship has been SO elusive for me to find and hijack. When I do find it, someone else in the dogfight always blows it up before I can defeat/dock
