This video will show you the highest damage you can get with heavy weapons. Most heavy weapons in Starfield are just novelty, or greatly outclassed by other weapons. I show off every heavy weapon so you can understand how they work and how much damage they can do if you find rare ones with proper mods to better build your character.

This video will show you what weapons scale off of, how hard they can hit, and what you can expect if you mod them correctly. Heavy weapons do scale off higher level zones so if you're curious what your favorite heavy weapon can do, this video will show you its full potential.

These guides are really helpful. Magshear has been a go to weapon for me. So strong. Didn't know about Neon Tactical selling almost 1200 rounds at a time. So helpful.

That's some solid info, thank you. I whish we had the Cryolator and Flamer in Starfield just like in Fallout. Maybe updates and balance patches will help the Heavy Weapons department and make each weapon more worthwhile.

Thanks for the video I'm definitely going to look into the double barrel shotgun with explosive mod. I have been using the Astra killing grenade launcher you get on Akilla in Sam Coe's first mission but the ammo is so expensive and rare early on.

I know it has no scaling, but the Cutter has solid early/mid DPS, and with the aim down held and a turbo on the fire it seems to melt things way out of its punching weight. That might be some kind of initial hit damage bug, but with max laser and a few points in heavy it's not too bad to keep around for a minute on a NG+ run til you get something else.

With max laser, you get burn. Burn has two things that make it strong. First, you can stack multiple burns on the same target. Second, the damage it deals is a % of the target's health. When SwoleBenji is dissing the arcwelder doing low burn damage on a low max hp Sarah, well, the reason why it deals low damage is because she has low max hp. Those two factors combined with a rapid fire weapon like the Cutter makes it one of the fastest killers of high hp mobs, provided you have Laser 4.

I've been using the coachman with hornets nest to clear out ships when I board. Fastest way to clear out a cockpit I've found!

I plan to do a bounty hunter play though where all my money comes from bounty missions with a heavy weapon as my main, so this helps a lot

I gave the Magstorm to my companion, all you have to supply is 1 bullet of the necessary ammo type and they will have infinite ammo. So my companion does all the damage and I have fun with a sniper, shotty or grenade launcher👍

Just got a rare advanced magstorm from a boss like you said on kill misssion from mission board. Any tips where to find a rare, epic, or legendary advanced magshear? Love your content!

Go to a lvl 50+ planet/star, find a random building with enemies. Then find the boss, bring his HP down then quicksave. Every time you kill him you get a different random legendary with the chance at 3* advanced weapons of any type. Be prepared to quickload for an hour or more to find something you want. I farmed for over an hour to get a exterminator, lacerate, shattering advanced magstorm.

I randomly started using this gun and then sought out this video. This gun is insane, long range, short range, large and small Aliens, and this is just standard with Uranium rounds. I am on the search for a legendary version. Thinking about it, I might just start a new build around this gun and the Narwal now I know more about what I am doing.

You can survive your own hornets nest coachman with 4/4 demolitions and two explosion damage reduction armor mods, along with 4/4 40% hp thing after level 25 so you have the HP to survive.

The 6.5 MI MagPulse is the Sniper. It's not great, but I've seen a legendary variant called a "Magsniper" that I've not seen as a normal gun that is amazing depending on your roll, you just have to hold it down. It's not meant to be a rifle or heavy weapon.

I got a microgun when I did the Mantis' lair right after completing Old Neighborhood. I let the lair around level 10-12ish and that minigun saw me through until I got an Adv. Regulator pistol with enough mods to match/exceed the damage of the other heavy weapons I had by mid 20s. Not found a magstorm yet but that should make things interesting when I do. As broken as the hornet nest couchman is, I don't think I'll ever use it. A two shot reload cycle is just no good to me.

As players we can all be greedy sometimes when it come to picking up weapons. If you also have a companion with complementary weapon skills in the weapon they essentially can buff the weapon to advantage use, so why not possibly give your companion the weapon to use as your sidekick. Hell, mod the hell out of the weapon if you can buffing its capabilities and then hand it to your companion so they can equip it. That just drives up your duo party damage combo to hilariousness. Especially when the weapons ammo is hard to find or restock and great weapon, well another reason to give it to your companion who only needs just 1 single bullet for ammo that never runs out.

Honestly gotta try that shotgun mod... but I was definitely underwhelmed by the Bridgers... their firerate and overall DPS is quite low against high health enemies. I thought I was nuts because it would be strong but it couldn't even take out a pair of level 20 Swarm Queens without a reload.

I found the best weapon is the magshear. You can get one in neon core at the weapons dealer with the robot that was spray painted. You can't buy it, you have to steal it and wash it at the trade authority but it has double magazine. 150 rounds. It is not a heavy weapon so no skill points needed in that part. It just melts even the best enemies. I in game modded mine to 56 dmg. With a fire rate of 400 and 150 rounds it's insane.

professional refined seems to be the highest rating? or is advanced highest? I wish there was a way to "upgrade" weapons to the next level in the game other than "modding" them. Like taking them to an arms dealer who could "upgrade" it.

I have a massive legendary bridger. uses same ammo as grendel so I never run out of ammo and its my favorite all around weapon right now.

I found a legendary advanced Magstorm with alien killer +30% damage to aliens, hitman, +15% damage while aiming, and randon Elemental damage and the depleted uranium rounds or whatever mod. I might mention i was level 29 at the time and have zero combat skills and play only on max difficulty. I was level 31 a few minutes later and absolutely dumbfounded, like actually in shock. It kills EVERYTHING instantly and has an insane magazine! Clear a whole level on a clip and it reloads way faster than my previous favorite weapon a regular A-99 Advanced professional. I actually don't know if i can even justify using it. Atleast not this early in the game.

I wish someone would do a deep dive DPS study on every weapon in the game, and post it on Reddit, and force Bethesda's hand to rebalance their weapons. All the weapons in Starfield need a balance pass. Especially the melee. And I can't even put my fists as a favorite in the hotkeys, yet they give us a boxing skill? what is this game?

Ammo tip for all the best weapons... give them to your companion! They only need 1 of the ammo and will fire it all day long at no cost to you. With the negotiator in the hands of a companion they will kill a ton of enemies before you even get a shot off at them!

The major downside is that any loot that's not inside of containers is going to be tossed around so much by all the explosions that you'll be lucky to ever find it.

I use two legendary heavies, a Negotiator and a Magstorm . They get the job done. I will try the coachman with hornets nest. I hope i didn't sell my legendary coachman. Edited My legendary Magshear is the most OP. Really only need it and my legendary Negotiator.

Thank you for the video. I see weapons once again must be modded to make them balanced, fun, and enjoyable just like FO4. That and weapon modding needs to be vastly improved, IMO, to be similar to FO4. I liked FO4 weapon customization more I think. Plus, I don't like that you have to depend on the game (RNG) and level to get the better damage dealing weapons. I like being able to craft them. Though, I like the game overall, but it needs several improvements in various areas.
