10:16 I already mentioned this in a previous video, but it's worth going through it again. Remember the the episode "Before I Sleep" in season 1 of Atlantis? The one where they find an old, alternate Dr Weir who went back in time and met the Ancients before they evacuated the city? Moros/Merlin actually appeared as a character in that episode, and yes, he was played by the same actor even back then. That episode was released over 6 months before Merlin was first mentioned in the season 9 premiere, and well over a year and a half before this episode reveals his identity. Yep, Merlin had an early cameo long before the Ori story arc even began. That's one hell of a Chekhov's gun.
i remember that episode too: so that means(even in that episode of atlantis with weir it happened, but also the episodes many many years ago in stargate sg1, they went back in time and changed alot even the future got slightly changed too, there was one episode where they went public too and the episode of the quantum mirror)
Banger episode. Also, you gotta love how clever that Ori ship destruction was. No MacGuffin needed, they just used a mechanic that's been established since season one.
Easily in my top 5 episodes. Epic crossover, Michael Shanks' acting with Daniel finally running out of patience with the Ancients, and we finally outright destroy our first Ori ship (by destroying a Wraith ship!), proving they are not entirely unbeatable. Episode is so well done and it really sets an engaging tone for the series.
I absolutely love this episode. Probably one of the highest rated episodes of SG1 of all time. Just so many great things in this. The wins, the new info. So damn good.
Remember early on in Atlantis when the Athosians thought the ghosts of the ancestors were haunting the city? I think someone owes those guys a round of beers.
Yeah, might be my second favourite episode right here. My favourite is still "There But For The Grace of God" in season 1, but from season 7 on I was following this show and Atlantis week to week as best I could, and there are SO many fantastic moments in "The Pegasus Project" where a solid decade of preparation and buildup all comes around and lets us finally claim a much needed victory... It was so cool!
Ancients=The True SG Big Bad? 😂 Their non-intervention rule created this problem, are there Ori sleeper cells in the Ancient club house? "Oh no, we can't intervene, we might sav-I mean we'll be just like the Ori" I like it, that is now my preferred SG conspiracy theory. It comes with an aluminium hat as well!
And them bending their non-intervention rule to punish Oma for bending their non-intervention rule created the Anubis problem. Them leaving all their little messes lying around created the problems in a bunch of stand-alone episodes. And they're such pompous *dicks* about it!
You said it after i thought about it. This is the avengers episode of Stargate universe. Absolutely love the musical theme when both the odyssey and the hive ships enter the black hole's excretion disk. Like others have said there's a great Teal'c/Ronan crossover episode in the future but im a little sad that we got no Teyla and Ronan in this episode and that Teal'c was back home.
You're gonna love the SGA episode First Contact when you get to it. Jackson and McKay playing off each other for who has the biggest ego. Teal'c and Ronin you'll get to see soon as well, but I won't spoil it 👀
You have to give it to the Ori for building shield generators. It just tanked a hive ship enhanced nuclear explosion concentrated into a focused jetstream that resembles a coronal mass ejection. Couldn't handle the old bubble spray from the fan favorite ringpiece though. P.S - They might've got the shield thing down but dayum, you need some ship designers coz those things are hard to look at without thinking about a toilet.
Simple matter of the event horizon converting matter into energy and the _directly_ interfacing it into the established wormhole... ...problem being the kawoosh represents that event horizon being violently displaced far from the wormhole. Matter that has been converted for transfer is irrevocably lost in the gap.
While we obviously realized the hologram was Morgan Le Fay before the reveal - when she turns to Daniel and says what she says to him, I get goosebumps every time. Not to mention when they pull off destroying the hive ship AND the Ori toilet at the same time, goosebumps again. I also get a nice smile going when you said a certain thing, but I can't say anything about it because of major spoilers (even though I know you've already seen all of these episodes by now lol) just in case others are going through these for the first time.
3 more episodes until one of my favorite episode "200" I can't wait for you to see that. I am curios on how you will react. I hated episode 200 when it debuted but have come to love and apricate it.
What happens when you put two greatest brains across two galaxies and their respective teams that has made habit of saving said galaxies God knows how many times and also add a black hole cuz why not? You get the friggin greatness!
I’ve really been looking forward to seeing you react to this! It’s such a cool crossover, even if it doesn’t feature all the Atlantis characters. At least we get both Ori and Wraith ships being a problem.😎👏
One of the best episodes out of both shows. I wish they would’ve done a few more crossover episodes like this. Or rather, similar to the Arrowverse crossovers(except, not quite as often)
Wouldv eloved to have seen some brief cameos cameos rom Tayla and Zalenca , but t was still a great crossover. It was the same kind of vibe as the Doctor Who Crossover with Torchwood in Tennant's season finale .
SG1 are complete shit lords to McKay in this episode. And vala the rest of the show. They’d be dead and all of Atlantis would be dead multiple times over if McKay didn’t ignore their treatment.
