Courtney and Pat get to know Green Lantern Alan Scott's daughter in a scene from Season 2 of "DC's Stargirl" (Tuesdays on The CW) Follow TVLine on... Twitter: / tvline Facebook: / tvline Instagram: / tvline
If Jade knew of Pat from her father, then that would mean she would have been a very young girl. And the brother may be a baby before the fall of the JSA members.
@@omarifrance2576 no, just Google it Cw doesn't have to do anything with the production of this show. The first season was aired first on the DC platform then the CW bought it
Now that Jennie/Jade is here, let's hope they bring in her twin brother Todd Rice aka Obsidian with exploring more of his umbrakinesis then Legends of Tomorrow did, and his Darkside Viewing (to c and force people to face their inner evilness from their very souls). LoT was a small spec to his dark powers, didn't even show him merging with his shadow to become intangible and fly.
Sadly I'm not familiar with obsidian he seems like such a cool character I hope we one day get to see him in a live action show properly other then legends of tomorrow which kind of just swiped over who he was
@@josephcruz6616 I mean she was just trying to protect her house against a potential threat. She broke into their house and tried to steal a powerful artifact. How did Courtney know she wasn’t going to kill them in their sleep.
Ohhhhh boy I see where this is going. Somebody's finna be jealous that there's a actual powerful legacy character that's related to the jsa minus hourman and she respects Pat. They about to but heads hard.
Jade: you have the staff, so you must be.... Courtney: I'm not Starman's daughter. Jade: "Stripesy's daughter." she glance with doubt in her face. Courtney: "Step daughter," she glare embarrassingly as with realization that she in trouble. Jade: "So you are nobody?" she look away, wave her face away. Courtney stare plainly with regret and disappointment. lol.
I feel bad for Courtney like yes she went a little overboard and she is stressing out when she shouldn’t but everyone is like coming down on her hard she didn’t know who that was in her house and jennie/jade didn’t say anything to indicate that she was harmless so it’s on both of them. And most likely she recognized the staff so
It seems like the writers are setting Courtney up to question who she is and what she believes in. If Starman does come back this season, it could be the icing on the cake that pushes Courtney out of the circle. This would allow for Courtney to become something on her own without the staff and possibly even go down a shady path to find it. It could be interesting if done correctly.
I was right about the battery sensing a new bearer,Jennifer said it herself "the ring lead me here". Plus this whole thing makes you wonder why the JSA members are keeping secrets from each other. Plus I think Courtney is a little bummed and jealous over the lineage superhero issue
@@AR-xd3dp How is that a secret? Pat has been out of the superhero business for how long? How is he supposed to recognize each and every offspring of the JSA?
@@SusanOnTVShows I was talking about the senior members keeping secrets, just because you're apart of a team it doesn't mean that there is a high level of trust among them. Case in point back in season 1 with Courtney and Rick, for Courtney he wasn't sure about her claim of starman being her father, some of her actions might've pointed to a yes and the whole alias thing. For Rick, obviously his existence was unknown to him. This gives the indication that there is some trust as if say"I'm willing to work with you",but not enough to devolge personal info
Well this is a particular take that the series is taking regarding the JSA. I. The comics they are like a family and everybody knows about everybody. This was the main difference between them and the Justice League. The League was more like work mates, the Society was like a family.
I like how pat is shocked that someone knows who he is since 1) he tried so hard to be undercover and hunt down the villains,2) he’s always in the car or is hidden away so only people who knew star man as starboy would recognise him
Nice to see Jade is here hopefully things between Court and Jade go smoothly but looks like she's jealous I think Jade might actually be a great addition to the team.
I am excited to see Jenny/Jade here! I can't to see how they integrate her into the show & team. If they do bring in Todd I hope they keep his schizophrenia. Also, I wonder if Rose/Thorn is their mom still.
I mean people like Pat are recognised only when they are gone.... Only then team realises how important they were. It's like Batman working without Alfred.... Except Batman truly appreciated Alfred help.
I hope she isn't evil i mean she can use the ring so that means she is gonna be a nice person i just hope they don't messed up her character only for Courtney to looks better!
I don't think that going to happen , Courtney is a human and like the first season she has been a lot mistakes (sorry for my English)(espero que se entienda lo que quise decir)
I really don’t want her to be evil! I actually really like her already! Plus I’m getting sick and tired of the writers giving superhero aliases to villains (Zoom and Prometheus)
@@matthewbee128 Remember Zoom/Hunter Zolirman did that as a mockery to heros and the other guy who knows what his motives were. As for Jennifer,we'll have to wait and see where they take the character
I wonder how costume wise and more importantly power wise they’re gonna treat the new Green Lantern (if she stays at all) i really hope the constructs dont suck or something
I hope they don’t mess this up, we have so much potential here. We have her Mother Rose and Thorn. We have her Brother . We also have 2 Green Lantern Potentials Science vs Magic(John Diggle
@@surfer1927 not all the universes were made into one, only Supergirl, Black Lightning, and Superman and Lois were merged into earth prime, Stargirl is on earth 2, The Titans, Doom Patrol, Lucifer, Swamp Thing, HBO Green Lantern are all on separate earths in the multiverse
I think you didn't watch it properly. At the end of the crossover it shows the newly created earths, like earth 2, where Stargirl happens. The crossover merged just the previous shows, not the new ones
It looks like Jennie is going to have what Courtney wishes she did. A happy reunion with a long-lost relative (a twin brother in place of a father) is one of those things.
brw....and I don't know if the show will use this little fact...BUT, Jade actually doesn't need the ring or the Lantern/ battery to produce her power. Jenni is a metahuman and was born with her powers. This facts leads me to think either...1) that Jades internal power is somehow running low or empty and she sought after the Lantern to recharge. ORRRRRR....2) the person that just fought Courtney is not Jade, but HARLEQUIN Molly Mayne who has the power of illusion and would definitely know all about Pat Dugan, Alan Scott and Jade herself. What if HARLEQUIN stole the Green Lantern ring and is holding the real Jenny and Alan Scott Hostage somewhere ???
Learning that Jade is Green Lantern's daughter clearly is hard for Courtney to handle. Courtney does still seem to have a few issues with knowing who her father really was and that unlike she thought, she isn't a legacy hero like Rick or Jeanie.
That is not the voice I imagined for any version of Jennifer-Lynn. Hopefully, it can grow on me. I see Courtney is jealous already. She feels the need to validate being Stargirl everyday, and who pops up but someone with heroism in her blood.
Just so everyone knows, Alan Scott doesn't have the same oath as the GLs of the GLC. "And I shall shed my light over dark evil, for the dark things cannot stand the light. The light of the Green Lantern."
The only reason I could think of why she entered the house was maybe she had concerns of the people that had the lantern. Maybe she thought they were bad guys.
If they stick to the comics then that thing they saved the world from is going to show up in Blue Valley, won't spoil anything in case they adapt it, but I have to say that book's ending was hilarious.
@@_bruzee Spoiler alert The funny thing about it is that Pat called in everyone since it was high lvl threat, so everyone was summoned, JSA, Titans The Justice League etc., but Courtney accidentally killed him before anyone got there so the entire army of heroes arrived ready for battle only to find her standing alone in the middle of nowhere.
@@_bruzee my original comment disappeared so I'm writing it again, youtube seems to be against sharing links, the other comment with spoiler alert is about the story's ending which could be spoiler if they adapt it, anyway. It was a battle against The Nebula man a being of pure energy in an old monastery. the book did not go into much detail about the battle itself, but one of the soldiers called Wing sacrificed himself to stop nebula man and was buried near the monastery. Wing's body absorbed nebula man's radiation and he managed to remake himself from Wing's body years later. I'm not sure if some different book has more information about the battle itself, the one I know was focused mostly on the encounter between The Nebula man and Stargirl. If you want to read it yourself it's "Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E." issue 8 you can find it on site read comics online.
Do you think Courtney should take the staff and runaway from home after this since her stepfather is not acting like a good partner towards her? Would they listen to her if they became victims of Eclipso?
@@trexadvent4726 Since when was pat horrible to courtney? Pat always put up with courtney's bratty actions through season 1, suddenly now that pat decides to not put up with courtney's bullshits anymore he's a bad partner? This show and its fans are far too white.
I mean, it's not like villains have broken into that very same house before with the intent to kill. Courtney had every right to react the way she did, after all, breaking and entering in the middle of the night hardly comes across as innocent and harmless. Best to shoot first and ask questions later in this situation.
@@lilyfrostheart3491 but Courtney was way smarter than Pat like how she found out that Jordan was Icicle and Brainwave_Jr can be trusted. Sounds like Pat wants to prevent her from using the staff since he can't admit that she is sometimes better than him. Also why hasn't Courtney disowned her mother since she never came clean about who her real father a lot sooner way before she was dating Pat and why can't she have Courtney homeschooled since she's always getting into trouble in public school?
@@trexadvent4726 "sometimes better than him" and proceeds to get two people killed due to her own thick headed decisions, she saved a lot people congrats to her but as a person? She's narcissistic, selfish brat. Why should her mother tell her about a dead beat father? What's the point? If anyone should be disowned it's Courtney, she always shames her parents mostly pat. She was better than pat? Please this is the same girl who got her identity revealed throughout the whole season.
I knew when Stargirl and Titans came back they would rekindle my interest in DC titles. Flash really left a bad taste in my mouth that i dropped every other show, even Superman and Lois, even though some people say it's good. I may have to catch up on that.
Superman and Lois is sooooo good Just don’t think it’s related to that awful Flash show as the writers confirmed it’s not in the same universe as the flash, and the first three episodes of Titans were dope
Flash isn’t a bad show just because they had one bad season doesn’t mean it’s a horrible show I love it next season will be better also we’re in a pandemic so it’s hard for actors the directors to get things done i’m getting tired of people saying that flash is trash after one season that was bad
@@bencrittenden7048 In my opinion The Flash has been crap since season 3. Superman and Lois was also effected by the pandemic but it's still managed to be good. I hate when fans use the pandemic as the excuse for bad and lazy writing.
Not Jesse Chambers. Her character was on the Flash already (Jessie Wells aka Jessie Quick). Given Velocity 9 was already a thing, they'd have to go about it differently.
If it's Starman, the way he looked at himself in the mirror when he parked his car makes me think he could be shapeshifter like False face in Beyond timeline
Alan Scott's his different oath is different (And I shall shed my light over dark evil, for the dark things cannot stand the light. The light of … THE GREEN LANTERN)
@@brassyjazzful mm she is not treating him like a buffon, just the suit, and i ment that the suit should get a bit of respect since he was just starting, any other person would have done it a lot worst, since he was traveling and having a life on a budget
I don't like how hard Courtney's mom is coming down on her. For all Courtney knew, some burglar or assassin was breaking into their house in the middle of the night as did her best to defend her family as a result.
I understood Courtney's reaction. A total stranger comes into your home, who is not going to respond? Courtney did what anyone else would do. She could have knocked on the front door or ring the doorbell.
Is it just me or does it look like the ring is just trying to get recharge and go look for the actual person who’s worthy to be the green lantern because in the last promo for the second episode looks like she’s trying to use the ring but the ring doesn’t let her. But it would be cool if she is the chosen for the ring because I’ve been waiting to see a green lantern by now so I’ll take her. Idk who she is from the comic books so it’s exciting
@@JunKurosu ahh okay the only thing iknow of the rings is that it chooses its master basically if it’s not that way. That’s cool I’ve never really read the green lantern comics or anything close besides the flash so I’m excited to see the green in a show
There's tons of human Green Lanterns in the comics. Alan Scott is the first one and he's not tied to the alien Oa Corps, his and Jenny's powers come from the magic Starheart source.
Diggle is a curious case since he was original character that made it into the books, but then CW retconned him into John Steward which is a green lantern in the comics, so it's really hard to say with him. As for Lanterns in general except for Alan Scott they are space police force so there are thousands of them and several are from Earth like Hal Jordan, John Steward or Kyle Rainer
