Bro you were RIPPING THIS THING. I'm amazed that you were hauling ass for an hour and 15 minutes on FULL 80HP MODE and still had battery life left!!! SICK VIDEO AND THAN KYOU FOR SHARING!!
What’s been the most annoying is how so many RU-vidrs tip toe around the battery range topic like “I’m not giving any numbers until I can properly test it”…I applaud you for simply showing your ride and pointing at the damn screen at the end
Same amount of riding and the same amount of maintenance you mean. I don't know where electric fans get off thinking electric motors are more reliable. Just as expensive to race to, if not more. I've dealt with electric bikes they are not it.🤷🏻♂️😂
@@LolliWANG505 No more engine oil no more gas no more air filters no more plugs no more clutch plates and electric motors are lot more reliable just for the simple facts they have a lot less moving parts and produce much less heat than a two stroke and even less moving parts for four stroke gas engines so they will last longer and require much less maintenance.
Congratulations on your new bike 🎉 love the feeling of unboxing a new dirt bike, the feeling you get when you think of all the opportunities and things you can get up to when you get something new is awesome 😂 ride safe
I'd love to log/build trails for the Hills. What a creative track. Looks like he's in Oregon here? The stark Varg is the bike to have in the woods. Sweet ride Josh!
These Stark’s are definitely the most promising of the electrics. That thing has wheel spin like my CR500’s. That would have to be tamed for better traction riding mountains.
Sick! I would love to try one of these...2-Stroke is my preference but really, I don't care what powers it, I can have fun on anything with wheels and a motor or engine. It would be a bit weird to watch a race with all electric bikes because of the relatively quiet operation, but we'll see if that time ever comes. It would be cool to see you out there for a SX or MX, but who knows if the other manufacturers will ever allow it.
Are they able to map/program progressive braking characteristics so that the motor winds down at a predictable fashion and you retain some of your momentum? And is there no bar pad now?
sooo supercross on the varg?? lol this beast is clearly capable of it and I doubt it would run out of battery. This bike is so sick too. For 14k (the price of some high end emtb's) you get a helluva a lot. Absolute ripper
omg omg omg! a real pro. w00t. now for that AMA exemption... hehe. looking good, man. saw this track for the first time on the new dirt shark. sooo jealous. rock on, man. you went with the foot brake, eh?
The AMA will never approve this bike. If it can beat the gas bikes the manufacturers would revolt. Honda already said if two strokes came back in they would leave the series.
@@Mr10usdad then they'll be gone soon. electric is coming. the same forces that pushed smokers off the radar are gonna do it to thumpers. it'll be a LONG time before there's enough infrastructure for remote charging though. 263lbs bike that handles like a 125 and has a straight line in place of a power curve. /drool (also, 80hp on the trails - I'd kill myself if I wasn't already in a wheelchair! 😄)
Lucky man. I've liked electric bikes but have always thought that if you can't hear bikes coming opposite way might be unsafe but after watching this you I'm changing mind as you could ride in so many places normally can't with mx bike or my 2banga. You could put small track in backyard and partner or neighbours wouldn't care. Avagud1 mate
Looks in the mode he ran it in you would get about 2 hours riding like that. But that isn't full our racing so expect less. Then you can't swap batteries so you would get one race and that would be your day as the charging takes a long time from what i understand.
It’s probably the same type of transition as going up a bike size when you’re younger. None of your old references for speed are applicable anymore. There’s still sound from the motor, it’s only one gear so the pitch of the electric motor whine/whir will be you speed reference after you learn the bike
@@kurtheidelbach what gear you're in gives you the general speed reference and then it's feel. I find it a little harder to judge speed on a dirt bike than a MTB, I ride both.
@@pastaalalamborghini I ride both as well. All relative motion but different for everyone. Just like people that will jump on anyone’s bike that is different displacement, has different gearing etc. and hit jumps.
Uk what’s gonna be wild if this is the way the sport moves. 1 will factory teams still be a thing cuz can u even have like a mod e bike😂 2 imagine these in sx. Like everyone talks about how the 450s are too fast so everyone is hitting stupid big rythem. Imagine all that power instant 😂
Insane that you're able to handle 80hp like its normal 😂. 80hp is batshit crazy for us mere mortals! On hardpacked 65hp is excessive for me haha. Stoked you finally got yours. Cant wait to see the crazy shit you do with it. ⚡️⚡️⚡️
That's not 80 horsepower, this bike is being exposed through snow bike kits as a sham. The battery is not up to the task maybe 20 horsepower constant. It is embarrassingly slow in the real world.
@@antony.w.4790 Test? Idk, but example yes. There is a snow bike channel here on yt. They took a new varg, put a small snow bike kit on it. The video clips show a 80hp varg struggling on hard packed snow. The guy who owns it said in his comments "Reality is, battery tech isn't there yet". Without the video example, I know the 80hp claim is false, it's a manufacturers ice equivalent hp rating, aka total bs like a Wal-Mart car audio amp 10,000 watt rating.
@@Dat_Sun Modern batteries can lose up to 50% of their performance when they get extremely cold. Basing the hp of the Vark from a snow environment is not really "fair". It is a known problem for batteries and is to be expected, no one said that its perfect for everything. Its power should be measured at room temperature or higher if you want to compare it to manufacturer claims.
Can't wait to see what Lil hill thinks of it. Crazy to think of the future races, going to a Supercross an actually being able to talk to the ppl around you about the race with out being four-stroke blasted
You are a true innovator Josh. I've been a fan since the first time you wrote a 450. I wish you could have killed it in racing. Mad respect for your efforts, and very happy for how things turned out for you overall
