I adore Darren's version, especially because he puts so much heart into the song since it's his own. But I've got to say, Dylan's version might just be a teensy bit better, at least from a purely vocal perspective. Darren himself has even said during the SPACE tour that he thinks Dylan is better at singing it.
I really think he has the best voice out of all the guys. Don't get me wrong, I love Darren but I think Dylan's voice suits this particular song better. This is sooooo good.
I pretty much melt everytime I listen to Dyaln sing. I told people at my work that if I'm not careful, there might be a puddle of me in the breakroom. lol
Darren's said in an interview that he wished he could hear someone with a stronger voice than him with more vibrato to sing this song cos it had that sort of 'Go The Distance' vibe to it. I think Dylan singing this really shows what Darren means. Also, I am in love with Dylan's voice. He is my favourite Starkid in terms of how good his voice is
I love Dylan's voice, it's just perfect. I like his version just as much as Darren's. To be honest, they're completely different. Dylan's voice is really strong, and his version is very powerful and inspiring, whereas Darren's is softer and more subdued. Each version brings out different aspects of the song. Darren's version always makes me tear up.
Oh God, Darren was right, a deeper voice singing this song is epic! I love Darrien singing it, don't get me wrong and whilst he is perfect I must say that Dylan just is far better at it, I hate to say it but he is, the song is one of those ones that need a deeper voice behind it and Darrien just doesn't have that deep voice even if he is awesome at singing it.
I love Dylan's voice. It makes it look pretty much effortless! I love how he holds the note on at the end, I often find that's missing at the end of this song. Never sings a wrong note!
i agree dylan's voice is amazing but for me it doesn't have the same feeling hearing this song from dylan than darren! it's like you know it's darren's song and he's more into it! :)
Oh my wizarding god! I love him so much! I just got one of my friends to watch AVPM and AVPS. Shes more of a Joe walker fan but we love him so much!!!!! It's me and an other friend and during gym when we're together we sing starkid sings and I always call dips on Dylan~ if I could have anything for my 16 birthday it would be Dylan and the others~ like if you would want to meet/ have starkid people for a gift for your birthday!

Darren's a very talented musician. But I agree; Dylan's voice is much better suited to this song. Darren's voice is a bit too light, a little too airy. Dylan's voice has a much stronger tone and Dylan has a more controlled vibrato during the moments that call for vibrato (ironic, considering Dylan's gone on record saying he wasn't originally a music guy).

Politely going to disagree. Obviously since Darren originated the song people are going to have a bias, but from a purely vocal perspective it’s better, which even Darren admits. And when you listen to the last note how can you say he lacks the passion?
