I took a stopwatch and went through every song from every starkid musical and added up the amount of time each starkid sang until I got their total number. This took me forever to do so I hope you like it! #starkid
I know not everyone had seen VHSCCS but I had to add it since I saw it live and since it has a special place in my heart! It’s also my favorite musical they’ve ever done
@@bunchoflemons I think it’s a holdover from all the years pre Trail to Oregon where he was barely there and in smaller roles because I remember that summer season being announced and being surprised he was coming back- Trail to Oregon, VHS, and the Hatchetfield trilogy have been good to him, as he deserves!
Oh man, just the string of the audio quality of the older musicals then being immediately SMACKED by Will in NPMD was some very satisfying auditory whiplash
Let us remember the beginning of Starkid. Some of them could barely breathe while dancing, the sound was not as balanced, and the stage was always simple. They slowly created an empire and their productions are next level!!!
Her voice is incredible, and her range is extraordinary. She can basically sing anything that's been written for a women, whether it's for a soprano, mezzo, or contralto. In one of her covers she actually hits a D7, a note that even operatic coloratura sopranos would struggle to hit, and she's not even a soprano!
I was so sure it was going to be Dylan, because he's got so much to sing in both Twisted and VHS, but he missed a few shows, so it makes sense. Joey was my second guess :) I'm glad that him, Lauren and Jamie are in the top three
Thank you for making this!!! It’s crazy how much Jon has grown vocally since tgwdlm when he still described himself as an actor who could sing not a singer who could act. Also I’m dying of excitement bc the next Hatchetfield musical is gonna be about Miss Holloway and we’ll get to see Kim sing so much more
Wait what!?!?? Do you mind telling me where you heard that from because oh my gosh she's my fav hatchetfield character and ive been saying she needed her own musical for so long!!!!!
Yes, I've been dying for a show that's lead by Kim and Curt and if it's a Miss Holloway musical that had to mean that Duke is in it. I love Duke and Miss Holloway's relationship and I know Kim will kill it with the vocals.
The last thing that I heard about more Hatchetfield was from the "Nerdy Prudes Must Livestream" fundraising video. There they said that they only planned to do three Hatchetfield musicals, then move on to something else, at least for awhile. If they've given any more info than that, I'd love to know where.
@@Jason_Bryant They revealed a lot about future plans for Hatchetfield in the Halloween stream. It was available for rent for a while on their website.
@@enjolras_irl_1874 This is a reveal from the Halloween stream! Nick said the Holloway musical is basically already written. Also if we get NT3 there will be a long episode titled Miss Halloween where Miss Holloway has to deal with supernatural threats after losing her powers.
watching joey and lauren's improvement over the years is so neat! (obviously everyone has improved, but I think theirs is the most dramatic by virtue of both where they started at and the sheer length of their tenure)
I have a video on my channel that shows that with all of the starkids by showing their first and most recent line in starkid if you haven't seen it and want to check it out! I thought it was cool to see their improvement in that video too!
And it won't interest anyone but me, but the average amount of time they sing per show is: Janaya Jones 20:23 Clark Baxtresser 11:48 Rachael Soglin 11:44 Jamie Burns 11:43 Tiffany Williams 11:25 Mariah Rose Faith Casillas 11:08 Angela Giarratana 10:59 Curt Mega 10:56 Bryce Charles 10:13 James Tolbert 10:03 Jeff Blim 10:00 Darren Criss 9:57 Joey Richter 9:29 Kim Whalen 9:02 Jon Matteson 8:51 Robert Manion 8:49 AJ Holmes 8:19 Ali Gordon 8:01 Lauren Lopez 7:43 Dylan Saunders 7:34.25 Will Branner 7:34 Jaime Lyn Beatty 6:12 Meredith Stepien 5:54 Joe Walker 5:28 Alex Paul 5:20 Brian Holden 5:15 Nick Gage 5:10 Bonnie Socha 5:07 Corey Dorris 4:48 Brian Rosenthal 4:09 Nick Strauss 3:40 Tyler Brusen 3:28 Devin Lytle 3:14 Denise Donovan 3:06 Kendall 3:02 Brant Cox 3:01 Jim Povolo 2:40 Joe Moses 1:30 Nick Lang 1:28
Curt overtaking Darren is so poetic to me, Glee foretold this when they made him sing the lead for Uptown Girl with The Warblers after Blaine left But also how magical is it how different his voice is in each clip
I was so sure it was gonna be Jaime, because she’s been in every production (not counting Ani since it ran concurrently with TTO) I actually just realized she wasn’t in NPMD! Her streak broke!
@sarahmiller909 She is co-creating the next Starkid project, 'Space Baby' (not a musical) with Curt Mega Edit: it will obviously have songs, just won't be a Stage Show
i can't believe this video doesn't already have way more views, this was such an interesting concept and you executed it perfectly so kudos on all the hard work!
Haven’t watched yet but here are some predictions: Joey is probably up there just based on sheer volume. I bet Dylan is top 3. I was just rewatching Twisted and marveled at home much singing that role has. He must rack up the minutes there. And when he does sing, he gets full songs or duets. Could Joe Walker be a sneaky high rank? Jaime Lynn Beatty probably up there too. Jeff gave himself a lot of singing to do in TTO, TGWDLM and BF, so could see him up there.
Yeah this reactivated my hyper fixation hard this is about to become my entire personality again for at least however long it takes me to watch all of them again 😮💨
this was so interesting and fun to watch!! i had guessed who was in the top three right but i was totally wrong about the order lol. thanks for putting all this together
so proud of myself bc joey was my guess for the top singer followed by lauren and jamie and I WAS RIGHT ! then when i got to lauren and i was like i think joeys probably sung around 1 hour 40 or 45 minutes overall, a good ten min more than lauren and i was right again !!! makes sense tho, joey, lauren, and jamie have been in the most shows overall (the only shoes they havent been in are ani for all three, mamd for lauren, twisted for joey, and npmd for jamie) and joeys played a lot of characters with big songs like protags with i want songs or villians with villian songs, that was my logic for my guess and i guess it was right lol
Yeah they did a production of it in November in Chicago that I went to and saw live. Dylan, Brian Rosenthal, and Corey couldn’t make it so they had others replace them like AJ, Curt, and Brian Holden! The clips were from a digital ticket that’s no longer available
i knew the top two would be between joey or lauren and i guessed lauren, dang it. major kudos to you, i can’t imagine how long this took to make. very enjoyable watch!
i guesses lauren would be 2 and joey would be 1, but i actually expected them to be a bit closer than they were. I always forget joey has played lots of leads that get lots of singing lol
this made me wonder about how starkids' longest totals within one musical (as in, [x] sang for 15 mins in twisted, [y] sang for a billion minutes in tgwdlm, [z] never had a role with more than 5 minutes of song)
@@Its_hatchetfield yeah, a shame but fair enough! i reckon jeff'd definitely be at the top via tgwdlm considering how he was in almost every song and i can't think of anyone else off the top of my head who'd be able to rival him but i'm sure there's someone
The range some of these amazing actors and sing er’s have in characters they can portray. From a complex character like Emma to “dADDY you came to LOVE ME” to Linda And Joey, Ron and Peter are like diametrically opposite to McDoon, and Ted who play on some of the same aspects as McDoon, but whose comic relief is still so different And Dylan who is the emotional backbone in most shows (also as Dumbledore XD) Hilarious video you’ve made! By number 8, I had all of them nailed, though I thought Jeff would be higher And also, hilarious that Jon has had such a big impact on fans, and not having sung that much (might be because he spend a whole musical trying to avoid singing XD) A quick question if you’re still reading, why didn’t you include Jeff and Dylan’s very, very minor performances in NPMD during Hatchettown? I’m just curious Thank you for making this hilarious video! It must’ve taken ages to record the time, but it was well worth it
Thank you! And I didn’t include Dylan and Jeff’s npmd performances because they just had small cameos in the pro shot only. So Dylan and Jeff weren’t actually in the show just the pro shot. Same with James!
I guessed Joey, mostly because I knew Little White Lie wasn't going to be part of it. Although looking at the times, I don't think LWL would've given Lauren 10 more minutes.
Okay i just hit top 4. The three remaining do not surprise me whatsoever. My person guess for #1 is Lauren! Edit: Was wrong but not remotely surprised!
Ive just recently gotten into starkid through being obsessed with Angela in smosh and im confused about why there was a warning for Robert. Can someone explain pls?
