Four of the reaction control system thrusters failed on the service module, but they were able to get two of the thrusters firing again.

I wonder if NASA should ask its astronauts to wait until the next rescue capsule arrives next month, and simply discards this helium-leaking capsule out of safety concern.

what a suprise 🤦‍♂

Meanwhile, the astronauts on the first space x capsule basically got to sit back, relax, and the whole thing happened automatically.

Those astronauts are either the bravest or the dumbest people ever for trusting a Boeing craft

Boeing! You've lost your way. The American people need a refund.

@@goldgamercommenting2990 I have personally visited Boeing plant in SC. They don’t take care of their crafts .

We are short of Helium on Earth .... yet they are still dumping it into space. Ancient thrust-er tech.

Exactly. Why not use argon which is plentiful and much less prone to leaking?

Now they have to send the real astronauts...and not the dummies for the test

Seems like a good reason to have a docking arm on ISS for scenarios like this.🤔 There was one on the Shuttle.

They have one, but the automated docking doesn't require it and the helium leak is not really a problem right now. Not so sure it will be a problem in 8 days when they return to Earth. They talked about sutting down the valves (I imagine the default when not firing thrusters.) If this preserves He, then its much to do about nothing. If not, they may not have pressurization on their thruster fuel (or part of their thrusters).

If helium leak gets bigger astronauts will have to come back in Crew Dragon . Starliner will be abandoned in space or crashed into earth

More likely just cut short the mission while they still have fuel pressurization. But... yeah they really have a problem with their valve contractor. Spacex had a similar problem with a contractor (they only had 1 event, not 2). They brought the production in house, problem gone.
