On Thursday, April 21 at 1:51 p.m. ET, Falcon 9 launched 53 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
This was the 12th flight for the Falcon 9 first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched GPS III-3, Turksat 5A, Transporter-2, and now nine Starlink missions.

@limiv5272
@limiv5272 2 года назад
@@ScottWaring I tried googling more exact figures just now but there really aren't, only found some older statements by Elon. They definitely would've saved over a hundred million on this rocket by my estimation based on those statements. That's why they're so much cheaper than their competitors. Can't wait for Starship to widen the gap
@Startrash001
@Startrash001 2 года назад
@@ScottWaring while there are no exact figures on how much cheaper f9 is due to booster reuse, the savings per flight are certainly in the tens of millions. SpaceX sells normal F9 launches for a bit more than $60 Million per flight, but is able to fly routine missions (especially like starlink) for as little as $15 - 20 Million. Of course not every launch is that cheap with additional requirements and costs for more "exeptional" launches, and they also want to have a decent margin on the flights that they're selling, but I think it's save to say that a booster that has flown 12 times could have saved them up to $100 Million. There are also additional costs associated with booster reuse (sea fleet, inspection and refurbishment, logistics etc.) but elon has already stated quite a while ago that they definitely break even with the 3rd flight, so every flight after that should save them major capital.

What I want to know is could I survive a ride on the inside of a fairing half as it comes down or would the G forces be to much for me? I would expect to be in a suitable space suit and strapped in tight!😂
@evolicious
@evolicious 2 года назад
Definitely, it's hardly 3Gs and all you would need is a sealed spacesuit and the will to strap yourself onto the best ride there is.

@@evolicious I realise going up would be fine but that release of the fairings looks like it would be quite a ride!

Nice! Loved how the booster had to pass through the cloud cover before the drone ship came into view. Certainly added much deserved drama to the successful landing! Great job Space X!!

Trampoline is working just fine. Cannot stop being amazed by every and each SpaceX success. Wish to join the team, but cant even think about this properly, has to bear consequences of putin's war, damn him.. #ArmUkraineNow
