The TSN Hockey panel breaks down the Stars' Game 2 win, Edmonton's third line struggles, costly mistakes for the Oilers including a botched goalie pull in the final minutes, and the play of Jake Oettinger.
The Oilers appear to be 'accidentally' running into Otter to draw power plays but the Stars didn't bite. Both LA and Vancouver took too many penalties and it cost them...
can't get power plays when refs put their whistles away for many obvious calls. Example: the hit on Holloway at center ice is interference as he did not have the puck and there have been plenty of interference calls in these playoffs but not in that incident for whatever reason.
@@MatthewSmith-fy5hk Otter is also bumping into the Oilers with purpose. Otter "tripped" Hyman by re-positioning himself to make sure that Hyman would fall.
It's concerning how nurse plays defense. He is afraid to block shots. How can a guy who acts tough be scared of the puck hitting him. Need to sacrifice to win!
Nurse has been a huge liability since he hit the NHL, but Oiler fans have been blind to useless defensemen for 40 years. Go back and have a look at videos of both Charlie Huddy, and Kevin Slowe. They are reason that the Oilers were forced to score 7 goals per game, just to win in he 80's.
Edmonton needed this one if they wanted to win the series. You can see it on their faces, they know they’re in an uphill battle against the best road team in hockey
I don’t see that conference final as being done just yet but there’s no doubt these Oilers blew an opportunity to take a stranglehold in that series. To your claim about the Dallas Stars’ having been “the best road team in hockey,” it’s tempting to say that going home will help the Oilers immensely, but this postseason the Winnipeg Jets and Leafs each played 3 home games but ended up with identical 1-2 records. Having home ice means getting last change in a game but that didn’t help the Leafs or Jets win a 2024 playoff series.
@@georgelazenby7167 Even if the Stars weren't so good in away games so far this postseason, home ice, like for the Leafs and Jets, didn't for the Canucks work in their opening-round series either, with a 1-2 record at Rogers Arena vs 3-0 at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. The Canucks vs the Oilers earlier this month had a better home record (2-2) than vs the Preds but still ended this postseason with a not-so-good 3-4 home record vs, due to a 7-6 overall record, 4-2 away record.
@@TexasUp Perhaps the Oilers' having a home crowd behind them will mean a win of either of the next games, ideally both. Losing both games likely will mean the Stars will win that series in game 5 at American Airlines Center or 6 back at Rogers Place. I'd predicted, after the Leafs had gone down 3-1 in their recent playoff series, the Bruins would win game 5 at TD Garden or 6 at Scotiabank Arena (the former Air Canada Centre). The Leafs would go onto lose that series in 7 games but I see the Stars as a deeper team than the Bruins (the Bruins' having gone down 3-1 to the Panthers in that conference semifinal before losing game 6 at home 2-1 in regulation after having won the previous game by the same score, also in regulation); hence my prediction should the Stars win both games 3 and 4.
All Dallas needs to do is shoot on Skinner and he will let in a high percentage of weak goals. Same with Pickard. Pushing players close to 25 minutes a game when it's every second day has to be taken a toll on the Oilers. The players who scored on Edmonton only played 15 minutes. Dallas is going to win this series even thou I want Edmonton to win. I just know whose better in the long run.
Paragraph time after a loss!! I have a feeling you had this written before game one 🤣🤣🤣 Enjoy this WIN and have a great night! Go to bed you’re tired 🤣🤣
Alright I’m just gonna say it. Does it feel like every team’s post game interview is the same? How do you feel about winning/losing? How’d you feel after that goal? Thoughts on your opponent? Like it’s all the same. Just me?
lol got to laugh at people giving McDavid stick I’m a diehard Leafs fan and I know he’s by far the best player in the game if u don’t want him Oilers fans my Leafs will take the home town boy, one on one i put my money on McDavid, even with Ottenger who I think is playing the best out of the remaining netminders in the playoffs, I wish my Leafs had him they be playing the Rangers now if we had him! 🤔when’s he a FA Dallas fans 🤔😜
Noodles moving up in the world tho I hope he doesn’t get too big headed tho and overdrive still is bread and butter! I see this series going 7 and then it’s a coin flip I still hope for Oilers to win one for McDavid he deserves a Cup it be a shame if he’s on the list of greatest players to not win a Cup!
I mean, I get you guys are based in Canada, but your coverage of the Rangers has been biased as all fuck. Rangers do well, here's a single 3 min vid where 50% of the time is spent talking about teams that weren't even involved in the game. Rangers lose? Here's several videos exclusively about the team that beat them. The teams playing in the West? Here's a slew of vids. What gives?
No one cares about hockey actually and the proof is in the views. The Star/Oilers Highlights had 54,000 views. The Indiana Fever (Women's Pro Basketball) game had 1.5 million views > for context.
Maybe Oilers can draw more PP’s at home, Dallas don’t draw many penalties so Oilers need to skate fast and hard, but there will be times when Stars will be forced to take penalties!
strange, as I feel the exact opposite that the League wants a Dallas - Rangers final. Been a very strong lack of Oiler power plays, the narrative being spun is Dallas is being very disciplined yet there has been many very obvious penalties not called. Game 1 Ekholm is tripped deep in the Dallas zone but it is ignored, and game 2 Holloway hit at center ice is interference as he did not have the puck but not called.
It took a game and a period for the Stars to start playing their brand of hockey. Otter kept them in it until they woke up. Edmonton better get off to a quick 2 goal lead in game 3 or they're in trouble.
If you payed attention to McDavid who battled flu bug he was fast last night he is back hill be big next game when he exploded first hit in game he crushed the Dallas player seems to be back expect a McDavid special in Edmonton
The Deserve To Win O Meter has been right in every series except for the Carolina / Rangers series. The team that has dominated the majority of the games has won every series but that one.
Oilers were by far better team again there goalie kept them in it and Skinner is still hot but Mcdavid was flying he put jets on so many times left Dallas player in the dust he is over his flu he had in Vancouver series
No they weren’t. Oilers were great in the 1st period and Jake kept the Stars in it. After that it was all Dallas. There was literally a 12 minute stretch, and then another 11 min stretch in the latter half of the game where the Oilers didn’t even have a single shot… and I’m rooting for the Oilers btw
Oilers bounce back not that Dallas was super good oilers were the better team again and won't choke at home they need some power plays Dallas seems to be getting all power plays oil come back it's a given
Yeah I'm not so sure about that. Oilers have the bestplayer in hockey, but they aren't very deep. They're going to run McDavid and Draisaitl into the ground and the Stars have 4 good lines.
