I'm wondering if there will be new ship that will be equivalent of Ratte, like being ramming space Panzer. Or maybe there something changed about Ratte itself?

Equivalent, no, similar size, yes - the new divisional dropship is roughly the same size. The Ratte itself is pretty much unchanged. It's cannon shells though, which it shares with the Scherer Greta, has been given a significant pushback.

I modded the Cosmopanzer III (Bef.) to be able to carry 1 of each wing in the Arian arsenal (including uniques) and gave it replacement but increased the deployment cost and maintenance cost to capital ship level. Easy to assassinate, but deadly if left alone due to swarm tactics

@@ProfOkazaki Yeah, I dunno if you'll make a similar unit in the new release, but it's a fun concept so it'd definitely be fun. Reminds me of those enemies in video games that can keep calling in reinforcements if left alone but are weak in combat individually.

@@KC-bt3wd I have certainly been mulling over some options of somehow allowing the wings of command tanks to respawn, but the biggest road block I can see is whether or not I can somehow tie their spawn point not to the center of the command tank, but to some nearby carrier's launch pad. Or otherwise, I'd like them to spawn from outside the map bounds, which comes with its own complications (which side of the map?). As for simply a command tank design with a really large wing capacity/OP reserve, I can consider it. The main concept around command tanks was to give Aria some extremely cheap wing-carrying ships they can deploy en-masse. Particualrly in this coming update, the faction will have access to lots of proper carriers in the form of the new dropship line. These come in various sizes, including capital ship - the Divisional Dropship has a whopping 7-8 bays (one of the bays is kind of special so it may/may not count). Therefore, I think a super expensive command tank with lots of wings may become somewhat redundant. As for the command tank itself - a ship being easy to assassinate is unfortunately an attribute only exploitable, really, by the player. Even if the AI deployed with a contingent of phase ships that can feasibly assassinate the command tank - they won't necessarily do so, particualrly if the player actually has other fighting ships. So, it would seem to me that the concept would have no counterplay for the AI, particularly if its wings respawn on top of it - the saving grace of the current command tanks of course being that if they lose their initial contingent, then that's it. Time to retreat them and spawn in a fresh command tank.

We'd be entering WINGCOM/Armaa territory with deciding the respawns, though I think having nearby carriers do the respawning would make some sense lorewise, framing it as having new units assigned to the command tank's battlegroup. In a way, reminds me of the Company of Heroes "call-ins" ability. I'd take a dropship too, being a UAF fan myself. I suppose the difference that would help the player decide would be standard carrier gameplay with the dropship vs limited/slow replenishment with a very, very fast impromptu carrier ala command tank that can quickly zip to wherever it is needed on the battlefield and order a quick strike. Higher risk, higher reward. With how the AI works with the current command tanks, more often than not I have to assign a cautious personality or pilot them myself since they tend to commit suicide on the front line if left in AI hands. They can barely take more than 1-2 shots and tend to accompany frigates in the initial objective point capture spree phase of battles, then loiter around if not commanded to return to the main battle line. They also tend to accidentally smash themelves on ally ships/shields. I think this weakness would distinguish them somewhat from the usual carrier gameplay.

@@ProfOkazaki True, we're venturing into Armaa territory with that concept. Spawning from the nearest carrier might make more sense lore-wise since it can be interpreted as replenishing a command tank's squadron from a reinforcement point. I can't help but be reminded of Company of Heroes I definitely see your points. I think a command tank with lots of wings can be played very differently compared to the standard carrier gameplay. A command tank is very quick and can lead a large battle group to a contested point very quickly or even escort frigates. In AI hands I usually have to set their personalities to cautious or else they tend to run with the frigates and commit suicide on the front line. They're pretty fragile and more often than not they easily flameout and smash into allied ships and shields, usually ending up disabled as a result. It's high risk high reward gameplay for sure.
