@@xGR3GORY How'd you get "on his own" out of this? There have been multiple Leaders throughout history, that changed the world. They didn't do it on their own, but they started a motion, movements and they did change the world. Sure, you can't do shit like that "on your own", so why would you assume that's what they meant, if it makes no sense? The deeper meaning appears obvious to anyone who ever was told off, because of their motives. I am pretty sure that you had some idiot tell you to drop a great idea, just because he didn't get it. And that's what it's about. Don't let one idiot or even a group of them let yourself drop a good idea. That's what I believe to be the deeper meaning about it. My post is a little chaotic, I hope it's still understandable.

Darazuya TG To me it sounds like a pessimist to a dreamer. The guy wants to do great things and has huge larger than Life plans to change the world. The pessimist says "who are you to change this world silly boy. No one needs to hear your words let it go.". Basically telling him he'll never make a difference or that he isn't good enough. ( Also the part in the beginning sounds tied in as well. ( " All my life they let me know just how far I would not go."). But eh that's just my interpretation.

randy Bray I think it sounds like what an abusive parent might say to their child, possibly a narcissistic parent. Honestly, to me, the whole song sounds like a boy growing up with an abusive, possibly narcissistic parent and the boy starting to pretend to be what pleases said parent the most, adopting narcissistic traits himself in the process.

Starset has been my favorite band since before Divisions. Just saw them in concert for the first time. Concerts aren't my thing, but I couldn't turn down the opportunity. CARNIVORE was the opening song. *I will forever hold my head high as a proud member of the Starset Society.*

The perspective of this song is really interesting. The speaker seems to resent the words of those who had condescended him and seems extremely conflicted, periodically switching between addressing the people who had put him down and holding a painful internal monologue. He has such discontentment with himself and with others.

That is very true, most people think they are unique. They are not. We are so very ordinary. I always ask why do they call a school a school? That word really has a lot of hidden meaning behind it. What else schools or flocks? Insects,birds and of course fish. They act so very predictably, the dolphin,whale, and plethora of other predators devour them at will. This hits my childhood top dead center. I joined the Army as soon as I turned 18 (to escape an alcoholic physically abusive father) and went into field artillery. Knowing I would be challenged mentally and physically I figured it's me or I puss out back to the norm. I gave it everything, went to Desert Storm, came home and moved far from the past hometown and started over. Wife, 5 children, peace of mind, and has changed my personal world. This is my anthem when I rebuild engines because it puts my focus into perspective.

To all the non-anime fans here, complaining about the Tokyo Ghoul fans: The way I see it, anime is just another way for new fans to be introduced to the greatness of Starset, and the more fans they get, the more epic stuff they can afford to do. :) (I read in an interview with Dustin somewhere recently that Starset is actually meant to be a six-person band, with a violinist and a cellist, but they have those parts pre-recorded for live shows due to budgetary constraints at this point in time. I think they also fairly recently upgraded their tour bus.) So thank you Tokyo Ghoul, for helping the cause. ;)

banana_chocolate I can't help but be a little worried. Honestly I thought that despite it ending like that, it was still debatable whether he survived or died so both sides one. Also that was probably one of the best ways to justify his selfless characteristic where he will kill anyone including himself to save the world at least from his bloodline. I am hyped though, just wishing really hard they don't ruin him on the premises of making a quick buck from a popular show.

Everyone is question who is better. Skillet or starset? Here’s how I see both of them Starset: makes songs about humanity and all we’ve been through in all our years of existence and the struggles we’ve overcome Skillet: makes songs that relate to each person as an individual, singing about the struggles each person overcomes in their lives. When he sings the lyrics "who are you to change this world,silly boy no one needs to hear your words,let it go let it go" that part really resonates with me because my family is very religious and conservative, and I am not. I don't have a loud voice and often won't speak my mind because as a child and even now I am either straight up ignored or berated because of my beliefs and who I am. I wish I had the confidence and strength to speak up and not let them crush me but I can already see how much I've changed and how I've started to simply accept this treatment of me just to make them happy.
