Two peeps escape the wrecked starship on an emergency bugger and land themselves in... the bug's lair itself? I would add the part when the ship got hit too, but Windows Media Player does not import files of such big sizes.
I remember the first time I watched this as a kid I saw in the TV guide that it was 4 hours long. Turns out it was back to back showings. I've never been so disappointed as I loved it so much and didn't want it to end..
This movie I noticed because it's so focused on Troopers.. The soldiers dun have any tanks or armored infantry transport and they only have drop ships and just walk...
This movie shows the atrocities of (human vs human) war really well. In fact that was the author of starship trooper's original purpose. To convince people that war = bad and you shouldn't just go around starting them.
@@davehug5405 They didnt, or at least not the way the Federation says they did, think about it, the human ships take time to reach Klendathu even using faster than light travel and yet the bugs managed to shoot an asteroid from their quadrant of the universe to earth, that alone would require insane accuracy and about a 100 years at best, remember said asteroid its not travelling at light speed and has to make his way to earth, see ? It doesnt add up
@@shadowmaverick15 in the movies it likely was sent by the federation to get an excuse to take territory, but in the books the klendathu bugs actually did have their own equivalent of light travel
@@candyman_315 Im talking about the movie , i do know that bugs have tech on the book , however they do not on the movie , we are told they have to slowly expand from planet to planet and thus in the movie is pretty much impossible for the bugs for make that asteroid hit with such accuracy and speed given the distance
@TheEddshere And the Aliens marines were inspired by The marines of the Starship troopers book. So....what we have is a movies marines based off a books marines. Which in return, a movies marines inspires another movies marines that inspired a games marines...
I still can’t quite figure out why the young man (Zander?) passes the knife to Carmen rather than using it himself on the brain. What does that add to the mission objective? Not to mention that I have no idea how Carmen manages to stand up and run, of all things, a few minutes after being run through by a warrior bug, which must have broken her shoulder at a minimum. Then again, this is a movie…
He knew he was going to die anyway. He basically gave Carmen the knife so she could kill herself rather than suffer. It was a hopeless situation and they had no idea that they would have been rescued in the next few minutes
He physically couldn't reach the Brain Bug's proboscis thing because he had a warrior bug pincer literally pinning him to the ground through his thigh. Carmen (for whatever reason) was tossed into the ring and was free to maneuver.
@@ZC.Andrew Maybe so, although Carmen had a bug leg jammed through her shoulder. I’d think that would keep her farther from the brain’s proboscis. Then again, this is a movie, and a fantasy at that - a few seconds later, Carmen is hefting a machine gun to that same same shoulder and firing it, and doesn’t even bother to say “ouch”. To say nothing of the fact that shortly thereafter, she and Johnny and Ace manage to outrace a nuclear blast. Oh well.
I think this whole movie is a general satire of everything about war and conflict, including military intelligence and decision-making. It's also a statement on our sense of human superiority.
@KRAUTKICKER I do like this movie I agree with that and no armored vehicles/robots and guns that are no better than current day guns makes no sense haha.
In the first battle it was scared rookies spraying and praying. In this scene it's veterans and they're actually aiming. They also learned more about the bugs weak spots during the course of the war and probably adapted their ammo as well. US wars have normally started out very bad for the Americans but US normally wins in the end. You could ask how is it that the allies were able to win world war 2 when we saw them get their asses kicked so hard at the beginning?
I was thinking in the hanger deck one sled side was not that fast and explodes but hitting the wall sideways. Theirs come falling out of the sky at a super fast speed then crashes threw a mountain side, breaks threw rocks, hits a wall. Then they climb out so the moral of the story these things you don't wanna go slow and hit anything you'll explode.
@@anthonydesroches785 > "in the hanger deck one sled side was not that fast and explodes but hitting the wall sideways." 0:43 You are correct. > "you don't wanna go slow and hit anything you'll explode. Or, you don't wanna be a NPC in a military conflict.

@MrBaddestofthebad dude the bugs barely looked like animation and this movie was made a long time ago, if they made another one like this, it would be a lot better, but yeah the other starship troopers suck
One thing I never understood was why did they even bother to land? That thing has fuel right? Just turn off and float around in orbit until the fleet picks them up. Why land on an inhospitable planet full of giant maneating bugs?
Are you two mental. That armor is not useless as you can clearly see. It waits them down, slows them down giving the bugs a better advantage to catch their dinner.
@@Blade666324 storm trooper armour is meant for Blasters not brute force or Sharp edges and also the lightsaber in not a sharp edge it’s a freaking sun stck
