You need a higher mix of riflemen in your army. One engineer, one sniper, and one tac officer is enough. Meanwhile your lack of range kept getting you rinsed by flyers and splitters. You also need to pay more attention to where enemies are coming from as that south wall was getting hit every time and you just abandoned it. And finally you wiped out three of your own squads by walking into the fire or blowing themselves up with cluster grenades.
@@dman8115I just don't get why he rushed north hive then dumped his units in the kill box he acknowledged they had instead of shoving up to the right hill for height advantage and to limit lanes of attack or just retreat.
Walking directly into such a perfectly dangerous encircled ambush with minimal troop quantity, twice, was also not exactly the best idea in the world either.
When you use abilities you can see the range of them. If it is inside the green circle it means that your troops do not have to move and can you stability from that range but if it’s outside the green circle they have to move up to be able to use their ability
Dude, bring in more riflemen and pay attention to your Elite abilities. You had a rifle squad sitting on 3 for so long, when they could've grabbed the improved shotguns. The engineers are cool and all but they are quite useless in a fight against Spitters and Hoppers. Stop running so many varied classes and bring in more grunts. You're causing too many casualties by not having the number of guns you need to set up a perimeter.
Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the shotgun perk is way better than the grenade perk. They both seem to apply to close encounters but the shotgun is way more responsive.
Watching Shack let his tower get slowly whittled down, knowing he has an engineering team within spitting distance that could have saved it at any time, causes me pain. But I also haven't had to face 5 star gameplay, so I'm sure it just slipped his mind.
No, no, shack just does this type of stuff all the time. It's honestly a good learning experience for others, I.E. I learned to set my buildings in Dawn of War to default build units with a ranged stance instead of mixed because Shack never does that and it bothers me a great deal every time I see him not do that.
Don't underestimate the riflemen! They can mince bugs like it's nothin', I usually call one sniper, two engineers and the rest I mix riflemen and otherwise offensive companies (like grenadiers) wt least so far, then I tend to switch riflemen for the e-troops and the likes
The rifle squads seem to run up to the cluster grenade target and gently set them down at their own feet. Keep an eye on your squads when using those, Shack!
Eww no. Attack move is ok for moving troops into an area you don't have sight on like a hill, but for the most part in this game should not be used. It causes a leapfrog behavior with the LOS mechanics. The Stop command is your friend in this game.
CEASE FIRE! Put your hand on that wall trooper. PUT YOUR HAND ON THAT WALL TROOPER! The enemy can not push a button... if you disable his hand. ... MEDIIIIIC!
Captin' again recommend attempt play custom "Green Zone" campaign from Steam workshop - much harder if shorter story of bugs infecting area.. and some MI's as well...
Awesome video. It's a shame you couldn't hack the game and use Mandalorian mercenaries from EAW lol. But for some serious advice, remember that 'friendly fire' isn't friendly.
If you clear out hives on ine side of the map, then you can claim everything on that dide, using strategically placed mg's to keep bugs from taking them back.
Because their no time constraints, I would have cleared the other small bug holes. 2 gun turrets on right side, one at corner then Infantry squad then gun turret. With snipers next to the right gun turret. A 3rd gun turret under gun turret tower. You still need a second Infantry squad as a constant hole filler. All this is base unit or force and second force as bug hole closers. It would be mix.
Looking good Cap but I miss all your SE streams. If i was to offer my 2 pennies it would be maybe another squad of riflemen. How much you want to bet that the brave volunteered miners were just that.
Hey Shack not sure if you are aware but you can hot drop your teams between base/outpost and it doesn't have to be one squad at a time, same with renforcments can be done for you whole army with 1 dropship
clustergrandae is good but its better in combination with flare from the sniper . you need more time and 3 stormtrooper as front units to do enough dmg if you take snipers 2 in the moving team because of sow firerate . the hardest part is the big defence missions . use pause for moving units around when it gets to heated on the battlefield or when timer is running for setting up defence . lets say there is timer and you have some engeniers use pase and set up the turrets and other orders for your troops
Use your mk2's and rocket troops at the end to nuke the hives along the bottom of the last part. A mk2 Q skill and basic attacks from the rocket guys will kill them very quickly, and fire rockets can stop up the bugs that are following you. Air burst grenades for the flyers, place them just at your guys before a flyer does a swoop.
