The purpose of this video is to explain the process of when you arrive at the Emergency Department, and what to expect as your journey takes you through the department - whether you have arrived by ambulance, or self-presented.
I was there last night between 9pm and 3 am and this never happened - so its quite shocking this video has been just made and posted. I have a lot of respect for all of you doing the best you can, staff shortages lack of bed etc. seriously all you medical professionals need to petition the government and say enough is enough as we the general public are not listened too, Plymouth needs a new hospital, Derriford +1 better pay for staff is needed and foreign investment. At the end of the day the public is suffering. Last night two senior doctors came out and gave a sincere apology for the huge delays last night, this needs to change the NHS is crumbling it can't cope and things will get significantly worse in the coming years. This is not just COVID related! the NHS has suffered for many many years. you all do a great job but working yourself in to exhaustion or depression is not good. Today article in the local paper about a GPs family member dying is the price we have to pay? what will it take for the government to wake up and understand the current situation is not moral? Stand together lets get better funding and better care..
