He's right....and GPs who don't want to see patients face to face. But then ...we will have millions more unemployed..... But savings after sacking MIGHT be enough for .. "universal living pay"...

Godfrey bloom, is making a lot of sense, in all forms of work now, there are so many people that aren't contributing to the job, to much over seeing is done, we have gone health and safety mad. Whilst working on the groundworks laying out the footings. On a very hot day, we were told we must wear hard hats. We were in a field, nothing above us. The health service is the same. The old matron and sisters used to do this. People that are not needed seem to be the problem with high costs, and bad management.

Get rid of paper shufflers.

to many nurses and doctors ,trained by the NHS, then going working for agencies on higher pay,, so pay nurses more on their basic pay, and get rid of the agencies/ but alas that wont happen because the NHS managers are getting back handers off the agencies

Lets start of with holding politicians accountable for promises/lies made during campaigns to get elected and what is actually delivered first

Bedford A&E 3 nights ago.My grand daughter woke up screaming from a severe stomach pain at 01.30 and was taken to Bedford A&E by her mother, who was suffering from severe migraines, and arrived at 02.00 and filled in the details at reception at about 02.15, she joined 4 other people in the queue and NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON was seen by staff until 07.30 and a doctor spent less than 5 minutes looking at her and talking to mother. He didn't even touch the child to see if it was appendicitis etc and just handed her some anti biotics and said come back in 5 days. The following night the exact same happened and 6hr wait and nurse saying she didn't think a scan would be worth it and to take more pills. My grand daughter is nearly 7 years old and her mother is a sergeant in the Police. And she is making a complaint about their treatment. The NHS is SOOOOOOOOOOOOover worked. Why didn't her husband help her ??He's a fireman in London who is driving ambulances because of so many ambulance staff are taking sick time off

I am a nurse my manager handed me a poster to put in my car to promote more money for nurses and doctors I said no I don't agree with it and said you should be paid on your performance, someone should show leadership in control on how the NHS should function, because it's not fit for purpose. I won't back them we get paid enough.

I hate to admit it but this person makes sense but I’m not sure if ANYONE currently in government has the skills, knowledge or he guts to start the ball rolling! It’s a massive problem. At the inception of the nhs the plan was to fix people so as they could get back to work, not become what it has been allowed to morph into today. Also the life expectancy back then was almost 15 years less than it is is today with people living with multiple health issues with not necessarily a decent quality of life. It was not envisioned that we would be treating issues such as tummy tucks, cosmetic surgery, gender reassignment, infertility ect… As an ‘old school’ registered nurse I can remember the strikes of the 70s winter of discontent but nurses still didn’t go on strike, partly because it was considered a dereliction of duty to patients and partly because it was against the rules of the RCN. The salary may have fallen behind slightly but it is still way better than it used to be! And to those that state they have a degree, well it’s always been essential to have half a brain to be a COMPETENT RN. Indeed the entrance requirements were as high as those of uni if not higher. I have even encountered some degree qualified nurses who did not understand their job description and could not even prioritise their work! However did they gain the qualification in the first place beats me. Also, we should NOT be relying on overseas trained health care , partly because they are actually needed in their own countries, but also because the quals themselves are not always comparable and not cross referenced robustly enough possibly to get more nurses out there, which is an accident waiting to happen. The whole world is struggling to recruit health staff. Florence Nightingale will be turning in her grave!

When the NHS collapse the nurses will run back to there own country leaving the British people to pick up da pieces

Video consultants with vets even.... Prefer absolute hands on....as in🐾 hands on healing 💗 those are the sort of vets and healers I prefer...just putting it out there loud and clear to keep that humanity alive and kicking...where there is love and Presence there are Miracles.

I totally agree with this man. It makes sense. Every Health Board has too many office and management staff. The Doctors and Nurses who are actually looking after patients are at the bottom of the list.

Good point. The government should look into that because there are departments that are irrelevant to the service that need to be scrapped.

Yes, more money more money for nurses so that they can more buy to let properties. 😅 Asian especially nurses from Kerala ( India) buying second, third property and letting to new overseas nurses. Good business and a great second income. Thanks to our leaders who are sleeping paying them more and more by increasing taxes on common man.

Get rid of anyone who doesn't see patients and then wait and see if anyone even notices. When the nurses walk out, the whole system grinds to a halt. The same should go with schools, get rid of anyone who isn't in the classroom and see what happens? Dollars to doughnuts the system will instantly start running better and all those masters in educations should be eliminated and the money should be turned to those who add value directly to the classroom experience, not paper pushers who create needless and infuriating levels of complexity which exists only to guarantee their own jobs.

Political Manifestos should be legally binding, fed-up with politicians saying one thing to get elected, and then doing the complete opposite once in power...

All those nurses and careworkers, who were sacked and shafted for choosing bodily autonomy, I bet they are laughing at this now. There wouldn't be this situation if their own fellow nurses and nhs hadn't sacked, drove them to quit, and demonised them. Cut the penpushers, get Matrons back in and more front line staff in, we need them, not more fkng paper and button pushers.

Godfrey Bloom is exactly the type of guy you WOULD NOT want to be in any managerial position in the NHS. Those kinds of guys giving 'sweeping yet simple and great sounding' solutions in one breath are the kinds of guys who don't really know what they are talking about but can give an energetic speech without any substance to support it. This is exactly the kind of guys you're better off delegating to voice their opinions in an evening TV show, rather than to actually manage anything, because they either A. screw it up even more, or B. leave a bunch of spreadsheets and beautiful looking powerpoint presentations behind and nothing else and leave the job after a while because they're useless. That's what he sounds like to me at least. I can smell magicians from a mile away.

To be honest Nurses do get paid quite well, and the reason that a lot of nurses are Striking is for better patient safety on the wards, but obviously more money is a great incentive to strike...
