I’ve applied based on your videos and because I want the experience. Just waiting on a call back from the recruiter. I’m currently a glass hauler in the lower 48 and Canada. I prefer OTR in a sleeper so I hope those are still an option as I can’t wrap my head around hotel stays in a daycab with a 75-80’ trailer that low to the ground, 😂. Keep the videos coming and thanks for the info.
Awesome I’m glad to hear it. I hope you put me as your referral. What part of the country do you live so I can hopefully give you an idea of what they have in that area
@@CarcarrierTv I’m in Fort Worth, Texas. Forgot to add a referral to the application though but if the recruiter asks me for one of course I’ll make sure to mention you. I believe the company has a terminal in Arlington and that’s close to me.
@@CarcarrierTv thanks for the info. Hopefully the recruiter will reach out soon and I can see what’s available. Submitted application on Sunday of this week. 🤞
That seems quite low what area do you haul out of? Most of my loads tend to be around the $1 per mile mark for both out hauls and back hauls. But I’ve also gotten some runs that seem to pay like $.30 a mile before
Thank you for doing this video. Brought back memories of when I worked in the yard in Janesville Wisconsin brining loads up for the drivers. My dad drove a car hauler there. He drove a 2878 if you know what that is?
Hey brother, currently driving flatbed but coming to car hauling in April. I have a ton of questions but pertaining to this video. How do you all know how close or far apart to park the vehicles on the tractor/trailer? I‘ve been watching tons of videos to gain as much knowledge as possible before starting. Thank you for your time and information!
So that’s something that you will learn over time but the rule of thumb is at least your fist with your thumb up for bounce from bottom units to top deck. For bumper clearance between cars on trailer it’s at least a fist between bumpers. And head rack to trailer it’s 18 inches so I say make a fist and the distance between your elbow to your knuckles
@@CarcarrierTv Thank you very much, if I chose to go with United I’ll make sure to use you as a reference! As for now keep making great content, it is working and I am learning! Thank you!
Why would you Not want to be in a union, especially in car haul? The guy in this video seems like a very conscientious and responsible person in regard to his approach to job performance. These are the type of people the union carriers are looking for. Over the years, I have witnessed the shortcomings of poorly trained and unskilled non-union drivers. You can make damn good money with unrivaled benefits working under a union contract without the constant need to kill yourself working relentlessly and worrying about time deadlines. Unions get the bad rap over the senority aspect. Believe me, any distasteful senority issues when first hired are a small price to pay for a short time with a rewarding outcome by sticking it out.
I appreciate the good words you have about my channel. And as for not working for the union I don’t have anything personally against it I just love the freedoms I get here in the way I’m allowed to run my truck. Now I’m not saying the union wouldn’t allow that but here if I wanna stay on my normal run I can or if I get the urge to run long coast to coast I can whenever I want or if I just want a week of different scenery I can run wherever I want. Like I said idk if you can run that way or not in the union but I like that I can do that here
@@CarcarrierTv I have 3 year OTR flatbed experience , perfect mvr, trying to get into car hauling does your company hire without car hauling experience?
I will say they are mostly pretty good. You have some old ones from time to time but nothing dirty. You get to pick the hotels you wanna stay in as long as they’re in the CLC plan. I think in 3 years I booked a hotel twice got there and then said nvm I’ll look elsewhere
Personally, I think the car hauling industry is absolutely outrageously ridiculous. I say good luck to everyone who goes into that industry. It is absolutely positively not worth it. That’s my personal opinion everybody could feel differently.
I drive for Cassens Transport they pay me $1.55 a mile full Medical good retirement yeah we’re in the union they take union dues out of my check I don’t even notice it I love the Teamsters most of us make over 100 grand a year
